Another step closer to her sister’s murderer! I really need Blake to give us a book focused 100% on May working on solving her sister’s murder, because while I enjoy these books, I’m fully invested in the little endings we get that give us another piece of her working on it and I’m hooked! In this installment, we see May work to figure out who is behind what originally seems like random killings, and as she works the case she finds the common thread between these victims and works to catch the killer before it's too late. On the flip side of things, May finally gets the safe opened with Lauren's key (after a nail-biter situation with the rusted key), and the findings bring up more questions than answers. I need more of Lauren’s case though – it’s the best part of the book for me and I really want and need that case solved and not drawn out! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Never Look Back is the first story where we see the two sisters working like a team to find who is the serial killer haunting the county. May is much more self-confident and realizes that Kerry might make comparisons to herself and also feel jealous. She has found another lead regarding the disappearance of her sister. I can't wait to read book #8 and understand what the lead means. I thank the author for the free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I have read Blake Pierce novels before and enjoyed them, but this one reads like one of those click bait posts that repeat the same information over and over simply to fill space. The writing style is immature and unpolished. A good editor is needed badly, but I'm not certain that even that could make this a good novel.
She feels like she is always comparing herself to her sister whose with the FBI With a farm tool a killer is loose threatening those on the farm of which she is sheriff. Secrets and violence in this fast pace plot to enjoy and read Given ARC for my honest opinion and a voluntary review
I hate that I’m invested in the back story of the lead character because I really do not like the writing of these books. The stories are ok, but the dialogue is terrible! It’s so cheesy and unrealistic. Ugh! Why do have to find out what happened to her sister?!?
It was a good one to read before Halloween and it was a quick read. I t was a little light on ending the story which I think cut to much from the rest of the book.
This book was an ok read. The premise was good with the siblings being different parts of the law. It seems like something was missing , especially at the end. It ended abruptly to me. It wasn’t horrible.
Deputy Sheriff, May Moore, has always felt that her FBI agent sister always gets more attention from her parents for solving any case that comes up. May and her sister actually seem to be getting closer as they try to dig into the cold case of their missing younger sister. Now a serial killer is on the loose in May's county and she and her partner, Owen, really come through on this one without very much help from the FBI. Great read!
