The Business of Justice
It was an experiment on my part to read this novel by Jarkko Sipila. And the outcome from my perspective: This is a solid police procedural. Beyond that, the characters are interesting and human, keeping the story real. There is even a huge political statement about the justice system.
An intelligent convicted murderer takes his only chance to exonerate himself, once he has exhausted all the means available to him through the legal system. His choices reflect very personal circumstances and his personal psychology. In its own way, this action challenges the system and the police officers who are attempting to track him down. When the final confrontation occurs, the least violent course is taken by the police, but will justice be served?
