Cedar began as journal writings of life on a wild secluded lake in Barry County, Michigan. It meanders, like a creek’s currents, through the lives of family from the past into the present. It is the author’s heart-song as told through her adventures and reactions to the natural world around her. Barbara VanDyken is a former nurse-therapist who would trade her years in the medical world for an equal number in the woods and waters. She teaches children and adults the wonders of birds and flowers.
