This book was GREAT!!! My first graders are currently transitioning into the "light" portion of science & this book was a great lead-in. After reading this book, my students and I went outside to trace their shadows on the concrete, then two hours later we went back to see how they had moved. The kids loved it and this book helped them to grasp the of light & shadows.
I loved this story about a rabbit who does all the things in an attempt to win a bet with a woodchuck by losing his shadow. I checked out this book to see if it would be a good read aloud option for when my 1st graders study shadows in science. I think it’ll be helpful either as an introduction or at the end of the lesson to explain what happened with rabbit’s shadow.
This is a really cute book and a great way to introduce light to your students. Shadows are interesting to kids and this book is a fun way to engage them.
