This is a series of stories of finding a mate at a shifter College. Each book is very different and it keeps you wanting to read to find out what's next. There is also a lot of negative internal dialogue, self doubt, second guessing and uncertainty. There is also conviction, joy, peace and a since of belonging. Throw in a bad guy and a mystery and these stories have every emotion. Well worth reading.
The nice thing about this collection is that with each book you get the feeling of being more and more connected to the characters. Team spirit, friendship and mutual affection build up here bit by bit. The books can be read independently; although the reading experience is probably nicer if you read them in order.
#1 Packs Promise: ****
A beautiful story about two young adults who find their way in life together. The story is rather quiet and a bit deep. Both work a bit on overcoming their trauma. Of course there is also some drama at one point or another, but it is limited. A one true mate story doesn't always need that either.
I found the development of the mating bond interesting. It was refreshing that the hero didn't immediately know what was going on.
#2 Winter`s Promise: *****
Leave the path you have taken to embark on a new - common - path. - Easier said than done when both heroes are literally creatures of habit. But a one true mate bond can also work its wonders here.
This was my first squirrel shifter love story and at times I couldn't stop laughing. These two are so cute. Here, too, the story is rather quiet and the drama is more on the sidelines to brighten up the story. But that fitted very well here. I like that the focus is on strengthening the mate bond. The initial uncertainty and new feelings... - It was implemented really well here
#3 Midnight`s Promise: *****
I liked Jade and Brett's story as it was very entertaining. Not only are they both outwardly complete opposites. No, they also prefer another campus lifestyle. And that leads to a war-like situation in this book. - The interesting thing was that in the end the problem solved itself with a huge party and a one true mate confession. The acceptance of the mate bond was almost instantaneous here, which certainly contributed to the fact that neither of the two was seriously hurt.
#4 iPromise: *****
Wolfhunter247 and JH37069 have been gamer enemies for years. Jackson is very surprised when he suddenly comes face to face with his one true mate at an international gaming convention. And who is it? - Exactly. His gamer nemesis Wolfshunter247.
I liked that the heroine initially didn't know about the one true mate concept. Rather, Tobi let her feelings guide her without giving it much thought. That was pleasantly different; so without the usual emotional drama.
Really enjoyed the first 4 books in this series. Each couple of shifters protected each other and then the whole fraternity protected the couples. Each had their own questions and concerns to overcome but they were different and it was not all the same thing over and over. The inclusion of a bad sector to the protectors was interesting and gave the stories suspense. the books were about shifters but not just one type. The book could have been about average teens and still worked.
This is the best book set I have ever read. It is set in a shifter college. The characters are amazing and storyline are great. Each book has different shifters in it, but is still tied to the college. I highly recommend it!
I really enjoyed reading this book. Fates mates and college students. Lots of drama and of course an evil human group trying to harm shifters. Loved the mix of shifter couples.
Loved following these college students as they each find their one true mate and a few problems along the way. Have read others in the series and are well written.
