A woman determined to clear her name. A lawman sworn to justice.
After fleeing Sheridan Falls to escape her past, Shayla Phillips is back in town to clear up old rumors by joining forces with Tavis Saunders—whose cousin was one of the victims of a past crime. From Harlequin Seek thrills. Solve crimes. Justice served.
This is a really fast read. Took me a day to read. I grabbed a random book off my pile since I had two appointments today and had to wait an hour for each one.
Shayla is sort of a Jane Doe character, does not want protection, shunned by her hometown but still holding her head high, and determined not to be protected by anyone. Tavis is the all around handsome guy willing to protect his client no matter what.
The plot was predicable but the story line moved along quickly. I never got bored. The chapters were all consistent lengths and the whole story line believable.
