The Poseidon Trials: The Complete Collection

Rate this book
He married me, exiled me, and now he’s the only thing stopping me from saving my sister's life.

My sister is turning to stone. She's been asleep for eight years – the same amount of time I’ve been the secret, exiled wife of the King of the Ocean.
Poseidon is fierce, unforgiving, and terrifyingly powerful.
I’m just a broken sea nymph whose magic never surfaced.
But the only way to save my sister lies in his underwater palace, and I’ve got nothing else to lose.

I expected escaping exile and getting to the palace to be tough. What I didn’t anticipate was battling a torrent of unexpected desire for Poseidon when he catches me.
The devastatingly beautiful ocean god has secrets. Wild waves crash through his eyes when he looks at me, and I soon realize he might be just as broken as I am.

But when a god has secrets, the consequences are deadly.

This is the complete collection of the trilogy, The Poseidon Trials. Expect magic, mythology, and a searing slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance that will leave you desperate for more.

I liked the stories The Hades Trials, The Ares Trials, and the Poseidon trials offered but OMG does this author need a better editor. The grammatical and spelling errors were so egregious it was hard to read at some parts! I thought maybe I was wrong but the more I ran into them, I was astounded how these books made it to print.

5 Stars!!! Loved this

The Poseidon Trial by Eliza Raine is the complete trilogy including Secret of the Broken King, Surrender of the Brutal King, and Sacrifice of the Brave King. I was really looking forward to this trilogy since Poseidon is my favorite Greek God. This trilogy was everything I was hoping for. It was jam packed with mythology, action, tension, romance, and magic. The plot line in this book was well paced. I could not put this book down. I loved being able to read the entire trilogy in one kindle book. I am sad that the Dark Gods of Olympus trilogies are over. I truly enjoyed the characters and the world!

Almi was loyal, determined, and passionate. I truly loved her character. I could totally related to her determination to save her sister. I loved how she never gave up no matter how tough the situation was. Poseidon was grumpy and mysterious in the beginning. I loved learning more about the God throughout the books. Poseidon and Almi together was everything. I loved watching them come together. Their story was amazing and loved every second of this trilogy!!

Listen. Did this book have typos? Yes. Did it restore my will to live? Barely. But I just enjoyed the hell out of this book and it got me reading again so that’s a victory. The age gap is a little uncomfortable but the plot twists, the main characters growth and the enemies to lovers was delicious. I enjoyed it thoroughly and will be reading the last of the trinity

good, but needed more editing

Again, just like the first two, this book needed more polish/editing. I docked a star just because of the amount of mistakes I found. Words with an additional letter added mistakenly. Sentences with additional words that make no sense to be there. Or sentences where a word is the wrong word to use. Also, one chapter (near the end) said it was Almi’s perspective when it was Poseidon’s.

Aside from that, the story was pretty good. Not sure that I liked it better than the first two, but it was interesting and there were a couple minor twists I didn’t see coming, which I appreciate. Nowhere does the plot slow down too much to lose interest. I will say the trilogy doesn’t tie up all threads. Like I’m still wondering what happened with Zeus and Hera. I feel like that was a very big hole left after the trilogy completed.

I will say, with this series, this book ends much like the previous 2 where it’s all happy happy joy joy, I feel like I would have respected this a little more if certain character(s) were indeed killed off. Sometimes having everything somehow magically work out overly well takes away from the build up and emotional drama the story generates. I was a bit disappointed on that aspect when I reached the end, feeling like it may have been more impactful to be more daring with that. Other stories that have taken the plunge to kill supporting/leading characters have left bigger impressions on me as a result.
But if you want a fun read and prefer a promised happy ending, look no further. It’s entertaining to say the least.

I have one major complaint. . .

I just wanted to express my honest, unbridled reaction to the dozen instances of Almi blurting out "Erm..." each time she was at a loss for words (it was over a dozen over the course of this saga, but I honestly didn't count them- looking at the expression made me cringe for Almi. Who says that?). In actuality, the sound emitted by most people is "Um," "ah..." or " hmm? ". "Er," maybe, but "erm? " Repeatedly? Almi was odd, but not a dork. She was quite cool and confident, so that simply didn't fit her vibe. At. All. Perhaps it her character had displayed true dork-ish tendencies?

Anyway, loved Poseidon's characterization in this saga. He's more godly, yet not as casually flippant and carefree or on the opposite end of the spectrum, as an old, crusty fisherman-type geezer. (Thinking Riordan's and more recent authors depicting the gods finding their fated mates in a comedic storyline and setting). The intermingling of The Titans, Gods of Olympus, and mythological monster s and creatures from the sea was quite intriguing, and right up this author's wheelhouse with the mythology and legends. Great job, but hopefully ease up on the ERM'S. Four stars.

It was a great read!

I loved two previous books about Hades and Ares Trials, and this one did not disappoint!

It was such a great ride; an intense and emotional adventure with my favourite enemies to lovers trope! Eliza Raine knows how to keep her readers on the edge of seat, unable to put the book aside before finishing the very last page!

This time the story is happening in Aquarius, the Realm of mighty Poseidon, who had married one of the last Nereids in the world and sent her to the mortal realm, away from his kingdom. Almi, Poseidon's wife, has a sister Lily, who has been asleep for years and nearly turned into a stone because of some wild, dark magic. Almi decides to go back to her husband's Realm for seeking a cure to restore Lily, but things did not go exactly as they planned. Almi finds herself in a midst of an old vendetta between Gods and Titans which also brings her so dangerously close to her mysterious husband and ignites feelings she never expected to have for Poseidon.

If you are a fan of Greek mythology retellings, love fantasy and slow burn romance - this book is for you!

love this Trilogy

Poseidon is one of my favorite stories. The last book and seeing him have a story like this was truly fun to read. It was hard to know what kind of partner he would be happy with and Eliza wrote her perfectly.

I was really happy to have more of Persephone here and there after the first book. I love love love hades and Persephone.

Also crushed it writing Ares book as well. Idk which is my favorite.

Would of been nice to have more of the story going on with Zeus and Hera. I feel like there is always constant drama with the gods but idk guess some sort of closure would of been cool.

Definitely will be reading more by Eliza Raine ✨💕

I need a starfish

I'm living the mix of myth & make believe in these books ,in gradually making my way through Eliza Raines box sets & so far Amni plus her pet starfish is my favourite .There is a constant theme in all the box sets God trials to win a prize , a kingdom or even a wide but they don't get boring & characters from previous books interact with the new ones so you feel like old friends keep turning up .if you love myths but don't want anything too serious you'll enjoy this & the others in the box sets

Great story plot. I figured something was up within the first chapters when Poseidon had all the girls on the metal plate and he first saw Almi. I couldn't figure out why he did what he did. Until the end of course. There was only a couple of sexy time, which I understand why now that I finished. The story was mainly of the trials of course. I just kinda wish there was more romance in it. Don't get me wrong the romance was there but at a distance if you know what I mean. Atlas, gets his just deserts.

Absolutely amazing

I have read the all the Olympus Trails so far and this one really really kept me on my toes. Eliza Raine is truly a godsend in romance and mythology. The character building is phenomenal ( I always want it now but I love the intrigue of it) . I cant wait to find out how Hera is doing. Maybe a finale at the end with Zeus and Hera to see there epic story until now.
You are a truly amazing author dont change!

this one was my least favorite which really bummed me if i’m honest. throughout Hades and Ares you see a lot of Poseidon which have a good idea of what he would be like. However, I was a little disappointed due to it being tough to follow or really get into at first. It wasn’t until halfway through book 2 that i really started liking it. Book 3 was the best but you saw the ending coming which was a little bleh for me. Overall I loved the series just a little disappointing in Poseidons

Amazing

Great Poseidon telling! I loved Almi and her sidekick was the perfect touch. The world building was stunning it felt like I was there underwater seeing all these amazing details that make up this brilliant undersea world. It was a very long slow burn enemies to lovers troupe with only a touch of real spice but a great well thought out romsce .

Not to be missed

This was an emotional adventure. I laughed, cried, sat on the edge of my seat, and loved every minute of it. If you're a fan of Greek mythology, adventure, and drama, and you don't mind losing sleep (you will stay up late reading this, it's inevitable), this book is for you.

Enjoyable light hearted read

Thoroughly enjoy the Greek setting of all of the trail series read. The mythology sparks to life with the vivid imagery described. A light, feel good read. Loved the story line and the ending. Hope there are more trials to come. I have to know what Zeus is up to!

a fun wild ride!

Totally enjoyed this romance the story was really good it kept me interested throughout. The only thing I was at odds with was the FMC she seemed too young and naive for me for the sea god to be with but towards the end I warmed up to her more. The ending was beautiful could of used more spice but still worth the read.

Entertaining

The entire series held my attention. Though I know nothing really about the stories of the gods, so if there were any parts of the background stories being not right, I didn't catch it. The only mistake I saw was in book 3. One of the last chapters it says almi, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be poseidons' pov. Nothing major. I'd recommend the book.

The Hades Trials keeps it throne at the top but Poseidon is a brain worm that sticks with you long after the last page. You blink and see those ocean eyes. The story is as always captivating. Eliza Raine knows how to keep you intrigued from the first page to the last.

I'm no English professional but whoever edited this book should not have a job anymore...

But besides that, this was a slow burn that only started to actually warm up till the last 3 pages. Super disappointing!

I did enjoy this book, and the characters that are portrayed have good character arcs, and there's a lot of development for them. Loved that Almi became the boss bitch she could be 😆 The only thing this story lacked was that it veered away from the overall storyline that set up in the Hades and Ares Trials. It's highlighted at the beginning but is completely forgotten at the end, and it would've been more complete if it revisisted the story and betrayal of Zeus 😕

great story but?

The trials were great and I loved the story but it doesn’t continue the story from the previous trial books. We don’t know what happened with Zeus and Hera, Aphrodite threatened Poseidon wife at the end of Ares trials, so what happened ????
