A Hunter herself, there had been a time when the battle lines were clearly drawn and there would've been no question, no doubts, but that time had passed. Marco wasn't the beast Lilith had thought, not her enemy-and she was drawn to the beast man in a way she found almost as incomprehensible as it was hard to resist.
She'd always love Alfred, though, always depended on him. Alfred had always been there to protect her, even when she'd only seen him through the eyes of a child. Seeing him through the eyes of a woman entirely changed her perspective.
I write what I enjoy in the hopes that others will enjoy it as well. I've always been drawn to the macabre. Vampires, werewolves, you name it.
I've never written about the paranormal because it's popular. I do it because that's what I'm interested in. If the vampire fad ever passes, I'll still be sitting here in my Dracula cape, getting my fang on.
Object of My Affection As we begin Lilith is saying goodbye to Marco as he prepares to travel and speak to the Wizard Council. Alfred has been gone for weeks preparing for the meeting as well. Sam comes to stay and help her clean up after the hurricane. Eli also spends time with her, keeping her company and deepening their friendship. Kat is very busy with a new man in her life, Charles. (The fact that Lilith does not meet Charles until the end of the book had me very suspicious that he was not what he appeared to be.) Alfred's return brings some peace to her emotional turmoil so prevalent in Red. Action abounds in Object of my affection and Lilith's previous opinions of many characters changes. Pacing is much faster due to the world building and all the emotional turmoil took place in Red.
Lilith- was a bit more like able in this one. Found her responses and reaction to the events of this story made her seem a bit more human (of course I know she’s technically not wholly human).
I however still have major issues with the relationship with Alfred (first off I’m having trouble seeing him as any one other than the butler to Batman - so ewww on the sex scenes - but that’s probably a personal issue)
What has saved this and the past book for me has been Marco and I really didn’t get much of my Marco fix until the end of the story. Still love him and think he’s a much better fit for Lilith- no matter what the character keeps say and no matter how har the author tries to convince me that Lilith is “in love” with Alfred - just not buying it.
In thee action category felt like there was a bit more action and got to see Lilith kick more female werewolf butt!
These books are so good. The characters are phenomenal and the story just keeps getting better and better. Lots of excitement and action. If you love authors like I love Andrews, Patricia Briggs and Laurell K. Hamilton you will love these books. Can't wait to read the next one.
There's a lot on her plate, rumors, her grandfather's voice in her head, werewolves, cops, and malicious people. Red must wade through the emotional, physical, and mental attacks to get to a place of internal peace.
This was well written book. It was very interesting and I'm glad that she did get to be with Alfred. I hope that she will try to be with Marco someday.

I was given this copy by author free for review, but as always on the basis that my opinion is honestly held, and whether paid for or free my views are not influenced by that. Integrity is important to me and gushing false reviews do neither author or reader any favours. As always my views are what I honestly feel about this book.
Well, book two in the Lilith Mercury series and it definitely lives up to the promise of the first one. Alfred has had to return to Terra to meet with Liliths father and has been away for several weeks already. Red met with Marco who gave her a magical journal from her great great grandfather Mathias Alexander, unknown to her, he was a very well known and respected Wizard. The book speaks differently to whoever reads it and it told Marco to give it to Lilith. She frequently turns to it for advice from Mathias who is able to talk to her about events of the present time, although as always with wizards he speak in cryptical clues most of the while!
The book starts with Liliths return home after having spent a week with werewolf Marco due to a tornado. They've learned more about each other and though Lilith is still very drawn to him she has told him she wants to see what will develop with Alfred first just before he left they had discovered a mutual attraction but Alfred wanted to wait til his return before taking things further. She's torn between her attraction to both men, having known Alfred all her life but until recently she's seen Marco as the enemy and now more as a friend. Another Alpha werewolf Sam, returns with her at Marco's request to see her safely home as Marco has to go to Terra for a while, and to help with the damage the tornado caused to her property. Sam is seen in the village with her and along with Elijah the policeman sometimes accompanies out, her scientist friend Richard and with Alfred being away the gossips in town are having a field day – as always no-one is interested in the truth and although Lilith has faced incidents like this throughout her life it still hurts.
The story continues through a series of events, the village gossips about her, she struggles with her emotions between the two men, Sam returns home when he knows Marco is safely back in Earth, her good friend Kat as always is a great support but has met a new man Charles who turns out to be not who he seems, and Richard is subject to an attack by werewolves which results in Lilith being injured. Alfred returns home at last and is not happy at what he hears from the gossips – he's jealous and tries to get back at Lilith by accepting a date from neighbour Marcy, one of the biggest instigators of the gossip.
There's violence in the werewolf attacks naturally and yet its not all gore and stomach churning but just that which is necessary to show what’s happening , and the sex scenes are scorching, absolutely red hot and very arousing – but not graphic and in-your-face but very tender and yet sensually erotic. Its not often a writer gets this part written well but Tracey has excelled at it and it adds very much to the feel of the story. There the usual mix of mystery and mayhem and plots to keep the reader engrossed and what I loved is the way Tracey has made the characters come alive – I really feel for them, laugh and cry with them and its a great story when that happens.
At 364 KB/193 pages for just £1.97 its excellent value for money, and as with the first book is well edited with few errors. I really enjoyed it and loo k forward to continuing reading more of the series as they are released.
Stars; five – an excellent book and I simply can't fault it – I was gripped in the story from start to finish and am desperate to read more of Lilith's story.
"Object of My Affection" received 3 stars from my star-checklist.
The novel gained *STARS* for these items:
* gained for: "The book caught my interest in first five pages."
* gained for: "I thought about the book when I was forced to set it down and re-enter society."
* gained for: "I was sad when the book ended. I want more!"
The novel failed to gain stars for these items:
NO STAR gained for: "There were no info dumps, poor writing, or copy edit mistakes that jerked me out of the story." (The double punctuation - ?! - threw me out of the story every time. It wasn't necessary at any point. In my opinion, double punctuation is never necessary in a novel.)
NO STAR gained for: "That's it. I'm hooked on this author I will automatically buy anything s/he writes." (Not hooked yet, but I have already downloaded the next in the series. This is a great series!)
*sigh* I am exhausted from staying up so late trying to find out what happens next. This is the second book in the series and has continued to pull me further in to the story than I was before. This book brought tingles to my spine and a fluttering beat to my heart. I LOVE how the characters, the emotions and the action are all woven together.
I was pulled into this series with book one but now sufficiently HOOKED on this series. Although I will continue my love affair with this series, I am now hunting down other series/books by this author.
If you enjoyed Laurell K. Hamilton (earlier version) Keri Author, Ilona Andrews, or the likes - this series is for you.
Okay so here is my problem in the first book "red" Kat's name was Kathryn but then when it got to the second book it was Katherine now I'm loving the story line but with a mistake this big how is the series going to progress will it be good or will it be crap
These novels are just so weird for me but I can't stop reading them. I still think that Lilith belongs with Marco and not Alfred. Alfred and Lilith just seem too damn mellow together.
This was a very well written conclusion to a great series of books. An unconventional love story with a strong and intelligent leading lady super hero.
