2.5 Spoilers. And I am torn so go into my review knowing that.
I am torn because for such intense subject matter the main characters are incredibly naive and young. Usually when we have intense SA, history of abuse, foster homes etc the characters have a hardened edge or a worldly knowledge that helps them navigate those issues. These guys just don't. They go to school, play video games and hangout all the while their peers are attempted rapists and the main character has a soap opera for a life. Now the part I'm torn about is whether or not I like this style or take on these issues.
If I am being honest I think I don't like this take. I like at least one person in the group who is able to take charge and fix problems. One person that has some hardened grit to see the group forward and I don't have that here. Maybe it's the lack of a strong lead? Male or female. Charlie isn't exactly confident in most ways and is very rudderless because of her lack of support system. The guys are all too busy being "shy" and "nerdy" to step out of their box and do something.
I mean I just kept thinking as she went to another foster home....shit this wouldn't happen in any other RH when the whole group had this much money, where is the guy that pays them off?
And I wanted them to just be 18. The problems being mostly related to age and ability to make a real change was annoying. Not to mention the characters that won't have sex until they are of age. Which makes sense but doing everything but also doesn't really make sense.
All in all I think it was a solid 2.5 but we have no real long term plot and we don't really get to know any of the characters much further than a baseline aside from Charlie. I struggle with books where the relationship becomes the main plot because I don't like just drama on that front constantly and it will for sure keep me from moving on.

I sincerely enjoyed this book. It brought me back to my little bit of a sexualized teenage years. Emotions are high. Crushes happen on anyone and everyone. It made me feel better about being the only girl in a group of guy friends when I was a teen. I really related to this group of teens. Really fleshed out characters and plot. Ending is a cliffhanger dang nabbit. Can't wait for book 2!

Please, please, please heed the trigger warnings for this book. There is recollection of past rape, sexual assault, and kidnapping. While I enjoyed this book, it won't be for everyone.
Charlotte has been through so much in her short 17 years and just can't seem to catch a break. After breaking up with the 'King' of the school, the only thing she thinks she has going for her is her gymnastics. That is until she starts spending time with Toby, Logan, and Dylan - the school nerds.
I love how Charlotte grew throughout this book and how her relationship with the boys develops. They give her the love and support she's never gotten from anyone else while also offering her something different from each other. I can't wait to see how their relationships continue to develop!

Charlie is in the foster system and is embarrassed for anyone to know where she lives or her nasty past (SA from a blood relative) so she always pretends life is normal, focusing on school and her gymnastics while finishing out her senior year.

You feel wanted and needed by this book ❤️
Now the cover does not give much away for what the book is about, but you will not be disappointed. The triggers and the trauma is talked about respectfully in this book and you get a better view of Charlie's life. Toby, Dylan and Logan are harem goals!! They might not be the popular guys in school but they know how to love and make Charlie feel wanted. I wish I had this type of friendship in high school 😉❤️ I am obsessed and can not wait until the next book comes out 😍

Charlotte starts her senior year heartbroken and emotional ally scarred. Can 3 hot nerdy guys help turn her head around?
I think if I’d read this book 20 years ago it would have been 5⭐️, but I struggled a little getting my almost 50YO brain to relate to 4 horny teenagers living in such modern times. Still, I could not put this done and found myself rooting for Charlotte to get her HEA with her boys. I look forward to reading book 2 soon.

I thought this was a good read. I didn't want to put this book down. I did tear up when Charlotte told the guys what happened to her when she was little. Kyle really irritated me in this book, Majorly.. There were times I just wanted to scream at this book and say, "For the love of God, man, just take a hint and move the hell on... I also do have to say if you read this book, please check the trigger warnings. I'm excited to start the second book.

This book was so good! I gave it 5⭐ and 1.5/2🌶️! For tropes you have found family, healing from trauma, bully ex boyfriend, new adult/high school romance, why choose (3 guys, 1 girl), and your nerds get the girl in this one! Make sure to check your trigger warnings for this series!

I had the pleasure recently to meet and ask questions from this author. After our discussion, I picked up Misunderstood pt-1.
I fell in instant love with Charlie and her group of men ❤️. The suspense, the tears, the trauma from the past but more importantly our FMC and MMC’s finding themselves and more importantly love.

This is my first from this author, and I enjoyed it. It's a why-choose, bully romance and an extremely hot slow burn. Charlie is recovering from a bad breakup that destroys her social stance when she befriends the three outsiders. The guys are great, and the story ends on a cliffhanger. I'm diving right into book 2!

I couldn’t put this down it was so good! RH with 3 hot nerds. Charlie, the MF is everything you could want. She’s smart, funny and has a traumatic back story. I loved everything about this book. The story moved perfectly. So far one of my favorite reads this month.

I love Charlie, she is such a great character. I absolutely love that the guys are all the complete opposite of alpha holes . There is no taking charge and being self assured.i don’t want to give too much away, but I’m loving this story too much.
