When runaway bride Lorelei Fischer is desperate for a place to stay, forces conspire to give her exactly what she needs in the form of Moonlit Shores Manor, an enchanted bed and breakfast with a vacant room, an open position, and a mystery to unravel. The grumpy warlock is just a nice bonus.
But Lorelei is only human, and humans aren’t typically welcome in the world of charmed folk. She's sure she can hack it, but fulfilling the promise she unwittingly makes to Magic with a capital M? That’s something else entirely.

Book One: The Weary Traveler
More than willing to escape her old life and fill an open position at bizarre bed and breakfast, Moonlit Shores Manor, Lorelei Fischer quickly learns of the dangers waiting for her. She’s only human, and casting spells, shifting into wild animals, and caring for mythical creatures aren’t exactly in the wheelhouse of a former barista and art school failure. At the manor, faeries might pull tricks on you while washing linens, werewolves might try to rough up your bellboy, and a shadowy presence in the woods might be your undoing if you ask too many questions.
With the help of her supernatural, live-in coworkers, Moonlit Shores Manor could be Lorelei’s sanctuary from her past mistakes. Though as the truth of the manor’s history unravels, it could just as likely become another place Lorelei must flee to save not just her reputation but her life.
Book Two: The Wayward Deed
Lorelei Fischer has finally settled into her new life at Moonlit Shores Manor, and besides that teeny tiny attempt on her life—which, by the way, she survived—things are going great.
It’s only with the arrival of a suspicious guest who may be hunting humans that Lorelei begins to worry winter at the manor might be more perilous than fall. It would be nice if Conrad, who’s supposed to own the place, would talk to her—nice for a couple reasons, really—but it seems everyone has new secrets to keep, and it’s going to take a lot of work to make that broody warlock open up about any of his.
But with a rogue cupid committing random acts of love all over the manor, a predatory popstar checking in and throwing a surprise show, and an evil entity trapped up in the attic, Lorelei barely has enough time to worry about anything else, including that prophesy about someone trying to kill her during a blizzard. Oh, and the deed is still missing…
Book Three: The Willful Inheritor
Hiding out in the charmed world has its perks: fae do your laundry, doors can lead to other dimensions, and the dragons are only pigeon-sized, but the downsides are rearing their monstrous heads at Lorelei Fischer. Moonlit Shores Manor is under new and dangerous management with magically-induced amnesia, and when the clouds around his past have cleared, the new boss will be nether-bent on devastation.
Tasked with brewing a potion to destroy the new owner, Lorelei and her coworkers must collect rare components from across the charmed world while maintaining normalcy—whatever that means—for the manor’s guests. But with a lovesick lycan, an uncharacteristically shifty elf, and an enemy turned questionable ally on staff, Lorelei finds juggling her coworkers just as complicated as dealing with the boss who, up until very recently, had been delighted with the thought of killing her.
And Lorelei’s fear of being outed as human has only grown when it comes to Conrad. Her almost romance with the snarky warlock is suspended between her desire to be totally honest and her much deeper desire to just tackle him and get it over with. Every step taken together to save the manor brings them that much closer, but whether it’s to a devastating truth or a fairytale ending, only magic seems to know

I loved a series by this author, so I have been reading everything by her. This one was really good. I love the use of magic and time travel in this book, and the world building wasn't exactly the same as most contemporary fantasy. I've read so much fantasy that I especially love when an author can surprise me with a different take on something magical. For example, saving dragons from extinction by shrinking them to the size of pigeons. The characters were loveable as well. The premise is that a normal girl is pulled by Magic to a hidden magical hotel where she takes a job. Norms are not supposed to be there, however, so some of the people there help her hide in plain sight. There's a complicated mystery surrounding the ownership of the property and some long-ago tragedies.
Beyond good and entertaining. The characters are deep and well written. The whole story grabs you and I fishies all three in two days. I am in love. Wish to have seen more of the main FC and MC but the story is amazing as is
This series is wonderful! Such a world! I loved everything about this- love, friendship, conflict, redemption, growth and humor. Such good humor. You won’t regret reading this.
A Feel good, Laugh out Loud, Found Family Read - 5 stars aren’t enough
I like to think that most of the books I read are fun, with snarky MCs and top notch banter, but AK Caggiano novels are next level laugh out loud. Not just giggles, a smirk or a snicker, either. There were times while reading this series that I was actually cackling - somewhat embarrassing when you’re reading in a room with other people and a bit inopportune when you’re reading at 3AM.
But, this series isn’t only laughs. There are plenty of trials and tribulations that our Moonlit Shores Manor crew has to endure and most of it is heavy life altering stuff. But even so, this series feels lighthearted. It is very much a feel good found family read. The characters are all lovable, even the ones you want to roll your eyes at. This series really has it all, though - sentient manor, kooky weird time travel stuff, magic messing with everyone, cool supernatural animals, a really seriously adorable romance and even a karaoke sing off.
And I love that this series and the author’s Villains and Virtues series have some connectivity, too. I read Villains and Virtues first, so I was giddy to see some of the mentions.
Anyway, honestly, just go read this series. In fact, do yourself a favor and go read all of AK Caggiano’s novels. I’m in a serious reading rut after finishing all of them, especially this one. I don’t think I’ll ever be ready to check out of Moonlit Shores Manor.
Found-family, SO funny and cozy... Ugh. Loved these so much that I tried to drag out reading the final book so it would last longer. I need A.K. Caggiano to write 300000 more things!
