1854, in Beauce, the settlers built a new community that would become Saint-Honore. Édouard Allaire, his wife and children settled there to live their dramas and joys. Then, in 1880, the vagaries of life led this head of family to open a general store. He then engaged Honoré Grégoire as clerk. This one is young, beautiful and educated, and will attract the lust of all the girls of the village. Émélie, Édouard's eldest daughter, forges her character through trials too difficult for her young years and thinks more about her family and her personal tragedies than about observing the glances that Honoré gives her. Will love know how to open her eyes?
