This is the tenth book in the beloved Connie Cafe Mystery Series
Who is sending those messages trying to break up the Bible Study??? She finally gets the bagels done right, doesn’t she??? I enjoyed this story and recommend the book.
This is a delightful little mystery that isn't much of a mystery. It is more of an uplifting story that gives the author the opportunity to spread her beliefs and Christian faith. The characters are just what you would expect to find in a small town. There are those who are established and secure, not only in their professional lives but also in their spiritual lives. And just as parents strive to raise responsible, caring, believing adults, the people in Coffee Creek want to help those around them who are struggling to find their way. This was not a long read but it was a feel-good, just-what-I-needed read. I'm almost ashamed to admit that this is the first book in this series that I have read, but it won't be the last. I will start from the beginning and read them all. I recommend that you do the same. I received a review copy from the author at my request and this is my honest opinion. I would like to thank Ms. Marple for the opportunity to read it.
Connie and her friend Rebecca decide to join their stores electronically while being connected physically. And she is trying to learn how to make bagels. She decides to have their Bible study group after hours in her Connie's Cafe, to help an employee and her boyfriend with their problems and disbelief. Thinking this was a good idea, and maybe she got through to her employee to help, she receives a threatening not to tell her she'd better stop these meetings. It is up to Connie to find the author of the threat and fix the problem. This is a small town series where everyone knows everyone and friends are loyal. This was a fun book to read about enlightenment, beliefs, encouragement and hope with a big surprise at the end. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Starting a Bible Study group in Connie's Cafe after hours shouldn't be difficult, Connie, Roberta, Mable, Penny, Reba and Dillon start the bible study but the next day a letter is found threatening the bible study if they have it at the cafe again. Penny also gets a threatening letter at home and is concerned she and children are at risk but the group bravely decides to continue and so they do. Ted sets up watch over the cafe while they meet but while he is investigating it is a complete shock to find who is leaving the letters. Admis much shock and dismay it is someone they know well. Lives are changed and in the middle of all this, comes a proposal. So many things going on and so many surprises but in the end it all works out. Great read.
A good, clean, murder-free mystery. A bit of in-your-face Christian-bible style story. But you should have been aware of that from the title. A warning is discovered when the bible study meets for the first time. Troubles don't end after the culprit is uncovered, but they do seem to turn in a more productive direction.
It is so nice in this time to have a book, a series of books actually that not only acknowledge God, but places God as a focal point. I love these characters, their are fun, inspiring, face realistic challenges and experiences. But throughout the story, one fact remains, God is here for us, we should always praise and thank HIM for his gifts and look to him for guidance. Keep up the excellent work!
Read books in order to learn the who, how, what and why's.Very good adventure. Who knew there was such a group that would get their knickers in a twist about an after hours Bible Study group? Nice twisty adventure that was clean and enjoyable. Will have to go back and read the 1st book to this one #10. So I can catch up!
If I read a Connie Cafe story, I know it will be quirky and crazy. This one was my favorite, though. I like a Bible study like that, where they literally read and talk about the Bible. If people have questions, those are welcome too. Maybe even a naysayer’s heart can change. Very well done!!!A cool Bible study mystery
Easy to read in a day. What a sweet (and tasty) story of Connie, her cafe, and her friends. This is book ten, but could easily be read alone. I love how clean this series is from Maisy Maple. Maisy blends the Gospel in her stories very well.
So Connie and the gang at the Cafe decide to have a Bible Study at the Connie's Cafe after hours, but someone doesn't like it and there are threats made. Who is it and why?
A fun, light mystery as to who is threatening the Bible study group that is trying to be established. Connie is trying to learn how to make bagels, hence the title. Also, Connie gets a really nice surprise!
This is my first book in this series and I really enjoyed it. I was provided an advanced copy of this book; this is my honest opinion.
