A quick lil read about private money lending in the real estate space.
To be honest, I bought this thinking it would be from the borrower’s side (like, how to find and navigate private money), but it ended up being written from the lender’s side (how to find a good borrower to lend to). In a way, it was kinda nice to read from that perspective, as if I ever get into a private lending deal, I’d know what a theoretical lender would want to know / hear / care about.
Anyways, it was a nice brush up on real estate terminology / vocab, so for that alone, probably worth the read 📚🐛
You left a financial SCAR or two Is there more hurt than science in lending? What are you doing once your financially independent? This book is great for those that are looking to understand not just private money lending but how lending works in general. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to get a loan on a property even if it’s a conventional loan(which is just about all of us unless you are dumb and listen to Dave Ramsey). If you’re looking to find private money lending to finance your deals this book is also for you to understand what PML are looking for. Beth does a great job of breaking down the technical aspects into bite sized chunks with actionable steps!
Highly recommended book for when you're just starting out to help understand the complete picture of how real estate financing works, and to discover the world of private lending. Especially for those in the military who are intimidated by the idea of landlording from a distance, private lending could be the way to get into real estate without the worry and stress of property ownership and tenants.
Filled with detailed information and step-by-step guidance, there's no excuse to not give private lending a try as soon as you have the cash reserves to do it!
