All men are the same.Sex and Candy is an intense, steamy romance with a possessive alpha male billionaire who'll stop at nothing to claim the woman he wants—even stalking! He may be over the top when it comes to her, but he'll make you swoon! HEA guaranteed!
USA Today bestselling author Emma Bray writes intense, steamy romances with possessive alpha males who’ll stop at nothing to claim the women they want. Emma’s instalove stories are filled with heat, passion and happily ever afters.
Plot: Ace first sees Candy when he goes to a strip club for a meeting. She seems like she doesn't belong on the stage, but she's the most popular act the club has. He makes sure her stepfather understands that she belongs to him now and will no longer be working there, and he offers Candy a job working as his assistant. When he explains that he wants her as his, he neglects to tell her that he paid her stepfather so he could lure her away from the club. Surely that won't come back to haunt him.
Commentary: Short, steamy. I enjoy a good age-gap story. You could see the maturity gap here a lot though, and that brought it down for me a little. She did need a rescue though! Fun story overall.
I didn’t really get into this book, not sure why, but it just didn’t manage to capture my interest. I didn’t like the characters 🤷♀️ I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving a review without coercion.
Being a short novella you know that you are never going to get in depth knowledge of our characters in the tale so this book has to sell itself on its story alone. It's a fast paced tale, some very graphic sex so beware if you are a bit shy on the erotica front! A good premise but no in depth description of characters or their history due to the shortness of the tale. However, if you are happy with a fast paced romance with a very possessive alpha make them this novella is for you. It's easy to read this in one sitting as I did. I was given a copy of this book by voracious readers only for an honest review.
bilionaire romance. Candy is a young woman who lost her mother, following her death her stepfather forces her to dance in his strip club. But one evening while she is dancing she feels the gaze of a man burning her. Ace is a rich businessman. While one of his new clients has given him an appointment in a club he can not help but fall for the young dancer. He ends up offering her a job in order to keep her close to him. But the more time they spend together the more difficult it is for him to resist her attraction. Will Ace tell Candy his secrets and will Andy run away when she learns his secrets…
Sex and Candy by Emma Bray is exactly what the author describes in her synopsis: a short, insta-love story.
This age gap romance is short and moves at warp speed. There is very little character development. You never really know what Ace does, and beyond understanding her situation, we know very little about Candace. The book is hot, though, so if that's what you're looking for, enjoy it. If you were expecting more background development, this isn't it. The author does a good job at informing the reader of what happened next and doesn't leave you wanting to know more.
Quick, easy, and steamy. This was all my favourite things wrapped up in one.
Age gap? Yes. Billionaire? Presumably, I’ll take it. Possessive alpha? 100% Sex scenes? In abundance.
Insta-love isn’t my favourite thing but god, it worked well here. I also appreciated that Candy didn’t drool over Ace the second she saw him, there was some apprehension.
If spicy shorts are your thing, and I’m realising they sure are mine, please give this a chance. I’m begging you.
The sex was fun, but I had trouble accepting some of the bits in this story. It's certainly not impossible that a virgin girl would work as a stripper, but I actually blurted out a laugh when I read that. And then the little tag at the end that he feels bad she never went to the Olympics ... when was it ever brought up that she was that good?!
Entertaining quick read - I was able to finish it during my lunch break today (even though I noted it as having been started about a week ago).
I was surprised by the age difference ... I suppose, like Ace had commented, Candy had to grow up fast in light of the environment in which they'd met (and in which she'd had to work).
But all's well that ends well.
Not sure how I got it - thank you, whoever the source was, for this freebie!

Very short, but very spicy! It was definitely not what I expected, but I did enjoy it. The only thing that I didn’t necessarily like was the age gap between the two characters, and that I didn’t feel like I knew Ace by the end. Otherwise, it was a quick, straight to the point read.
It's a quick read but it's totally worth it. I loved getting to hear from both characters, and despite the length, they managed to feel fully fleshed out. It left me wanting more without making me feel like I hadn't been told the full story. I got my copy through Voracious Readers Only and it's exactly what I had hoped based on the description
This novella was a quick steamy read. I enjoyed the premise of the story and the build up to the climax (pun intended 😉). Easy to read and nicely developed plot line and characters.
Special thanks to Voracious Readers and Emma Bray for sharing Sex and Candy with me in exchange for my honest review.
This is a steamy sweet read. It is short and straight to the point. The main characters are sweet and have been nicely developed despite the brevity of the story. Depending on your reading speed, this can be concluded in less than thirty minutes without feeling as if something is missing.
Thrillingly read. Sure it was short but every page had you wanting to read more. The tension the suspense the climax of the book was pure work of art. I just wish it was longer I wanna know more about both Candy and Ace.
Candy isn’t living the life she wants, instead she works for her step-dad and is unable to get away and be free to do what she would like to do.
Ace is straight-laced and a busy man, but when he sees Candy, she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen and wants her for himself.
I wish this book was longer and I would love to see how Ace and Candy work together, hopefully one day the author will write a little epilogue of Ace and Candy. I enjoyed the story and I hope to read more from this author in the future.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
It was really fast read. Story was good too and chemistry between characters was from the very beginning. Also, I like the little spice that was there and happy ending.
Was such a wonderful plot and really enjoy the chemistry between the fmc and the love interest. So good that I started to read more of the authors books. Definitely a great pick me up book
When Candy lost her mom, her stepfather made her pole dance at his club to earn her keep. Ace took one look at her at that sleazy club and he decided she belonged to him. While he gave me perv vibes, he’s was just crazy about her. This is a short story with a happy ending. I’d recommend it.
I appreciated that this was a short read, though I wish it were a bit longer. Candy works at her step-dada's strip club, when she is approached by a man offering to take her away to a place where she wouldn't have to perform for creepy men. While she is attracted to the offer, she is hesitant to leave with this stranger. Ace is attending a meeting at a seedy strip club, when he sees her. Instantly attracted, but feeling protective, Ace makes an offer to get Candy out of the club. With him being 30 and her being 18, some of his behavior was a little creepy, and some slang was not great to read. Overall 3 out of 5. It was certainly a bit steamy!
Thank you Voracious Readers Only for an e-copy for honest review.
It’s an insta-love story that moves really fast. It’s a novella, so obviously there is no in depth understanding of the characters, but the author still manages to weave a good story.
Ace takes on look at Candy at the strip club and knows she doesn’t belong there. He saves essentially buys her from her step father, without telling her (Obviously that is going to bite him back later) and takes her away, saving her.
Its an age-gap story, so the interactions are the similar to that, especially the steamy sex scenes. Honestly the blurb pretty much saves what the book is all about.
A Chance At A New Life - Daaaaaaam! I really need a cold shower after reading this awesome book. The chemistry between Candy and Ace is powerful and intense right from their first interaction and their banter is filled with so much sexual tension, that it is felt throughout the pages. I would definitely recommend reading this book, if you are looking for a sensual romance to entertain you, then this is the one for you.
This is my kind of novella! Straight down to business with lots of spice to boot! I read this story while at the gym…I definitely wouldn’t recommend that! Emma’s writing style is so easy to get into and there was character development even in such a short story. I’m looking forward to reading more of Emma Bray’s books after this perfect little sample!

Short, a little sweet, and a lot steamy, Sex and Candy was a great little read. I actually liked the two mains and I was impressed at the author was able to create so much sexual tension in so few pages (under 30 in my copy). I do wish I could've gotten to know Candy and Ace more before it wrapped up in the epilogue, but hey, it was a quick and dirty read, and I very much enjoyed it.
Thank you Voracious Readers and Emma Bray for my copy! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
