This was a good and solid book. Considering it‘s short length it was done well and I had a good time. It was an entertaining read and I liked the plot and characters.
Eva and Lorenzo have a shared past where he was her school bully. I liked the way she stood up to him when they met again and how Lorenzo was such a sucker for her. This woman had him wrapped around her finger quickly.
All in all a good and short mafia romance read.

A wonderful read with spectacular storyline and fantastic characters
I have to say that this was a simply fantastic read that I enjoyed every single moment of, the characters were well written and the story line for this mafia family was something very different which added to the intensity and complexity of this read.
Lorenzo Mancini and Eva Rosencrantz have known each other since she was five and their fathers had been best friends and Eva’s father had been his financial advisor since he had first started to build his empire in New Orleans which he was now the head of.
As children Lorenzo had teased Eva unmercifully and had done this simply so he could fit in with his friends until the day he went too far…. Then she had dis appeared from his school and Saul her father refused to discuss his daughter and his father strangely had been the same.
Saul has been taken Ill and Eva who is fully qualified moves down to New Orleans and agrees to take over her father’s position in the Mancini hierarchy until he is well enough to resume his duties.
Lorenzo had been completely blown away when the girl he had once known burst into his office as a beautiful, fully qualified accountant and was taking over as the Consigliere and helping to discover the money leaking from the company and who was responsible for it.
However, the interactions between Lorenzo and Eva are simply amazing and the way in which they discuss what had happened to Eva to cause her to leave all those years before and what had actually happened to he was awful.
Lorenzo was surprised at the way she had changed and that she would not take nonsense putting him in his place almost immediately. As she becomes more integrated with the family and the running of the business, she is an asset and Lorenzo also knows that he is falling for her in a major way.
I do not want to spoil the plot so will say no more about the three of them, I assure you that you will enjoy every single moment of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Lorenzo Mancini, handsome son of rich Mafia Mob head, tormentor and mean boy to Eva, daughter of his father's best friend and business attorney. Eva's life at school was miserable; in addition to the torment and bullying from people, her looks did not serve her well. She still hates him years later.
Her father's ill health brings her into direct contact with the crime family, only now she has matured into a professional woman, able to hold her own, compete against others in the corporate world and her looks are stunning. Her attitude towards Lorenzo is still feisty and frosty. He is not used to being dismissed so coldly and is intrigued enough to engage and persevere in chasing her.
Things are not as they seem. Kidnapping, bombs, cartel threats and danger, embezzlement, crime are all part of this couple's relationship.
She discovers all her previous beliefs about him may not be solid and his feelings are rekindled from that of a youth. Honesty is the best policy for them, and Eva is not afraid to voice her thoughts. There is humour in her attitude towards him and him being hapless in return, but despite it all they are well matched.
Another enjoyable episode in the Mancini crime family.

Once again, Ms. Lily Adams has knocked it out of the park with this installment to The Mancini Crime Family; Brackish Boss.
From their earlier years, Lorenzo Mancini and Eva Rosencrantz, have loved to hate one another. Secretly, their feelings ran deep, however, neither knew how to show it. Thus was the beginning of their bully/victim relationship.
Inside of these golden pages, we have the pleasure of following along as Lorenzo and Eva struggle to find balance, as well as an unexpected a future together.
I am one of those reader's who do not like to give away too much information, so that I do not ruin the release for other reader's. However, I can certainly assure you that this Series is one that you will thoroughly enjoy, from beginning to end. If you like Mafia romance books, than this is the book for you. Brackish Boss contains tons of drama and intriguing scenes which includes hot/steamy scenarios to keep you riveted throughout this fast-paced page turner. It has been 15+ years since they've seen one another and some things never change, unless you count this ugly duckling turning into a swan.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Brackish Boss in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. I couldn't recommend reading this release, as well as the Series as a whole, as soon as possible.

It had some good parts and some parts when I just skimmed mostly. The parts I skimmed were definitely the parts related to the characters talking about deals with other mafias and logistical stuff. I didn’t feel super invested in the crime part of the book. The romance was cute too and I liked how tough yet damaged the FMC was. Also how regretful the MMC was.
Summary:
Lorenzo bullied Eva in high school because he was an immature boy with a fat crush on her even though she was an ugly duckling. When Eva gets a note addressed from Lorenzo in her locker telling her to meet him at the park that night she goes and waits for him for hours but he never shows up. When she’s leaving she gets attacked and almost raped by two men but she fights them off. She gets severely injured and traumatized for years and doesn’t go back to that same school. Years later, Eva is a successful lawyer and her dad requests for her to help the Mancini’s with a case. She goes and is very professional but Lorenzo is immediately fallen for her beauty. A series of attacks happen and Lorenzo moves Eva in with him and his family to protect her and they end up falling in love. I couldn’t even tell you what the crime danger was because I skimmed mostly of it. Anyways she gets pregnant at the very end and they live HEA!

Lorenz reunites with Eva, the girl he had bullied in high school. She has returned as a whip-smart lawyer and ready to work for the Mancini family to take over her father’s position since he had fallen ill. She hasn’t forgiven Lorenzo for tormenting her, especially for a past trauma that he seemingly was responsible for. While she fights against him trying to start anew, she also learns things about their past that had her rethinking her relationship with Lorenzo. Lorenzo himself is trying to right past wrongs and seeks to protect Eva where he can. The two of them had sizzling chemistry and they compliment each other, with Eva’s quick-wittedness and Lorenzo’s golden heart. We also get a bit more about the cartel whom the Mancini family had been up against in the first book, though I wish we got a little more since there seemed to be some loose ends. However, I look forward to the story continuing with Marco, and am happy there is a HEA in this book!

Loving this series has been amazing so far.
This is Lorenzo and Eva’s story. Their fathers have been friends and business associates since Lorenzo and Eva were young children, this didn’t mean they were friends though, quite the opposite in fact. He was very popular, athletic and very handsome. She’s the opposite, short, dowdy with thick glasses, she was the target of many bullies and Lorenzo was her main tormenter..
Fast forward 15 years and Eva comes into Lorenzo’s life and she is an absolute stunner! Lorenzo has always had a weird attraction to Eva even back in High School but was too “cool” to show it, but now he is struggling to keep his hands and lips off Eva now they have to work together.
I loved the twists and turns with this story, the action was realistic and had me turning those pages so fast!
I thoroughly recommend this story to you all.

We are still on the journey to find and catch those responsible for coming after the Mancini Crime Family.
A Trigger Warning: We all know that mafia and crime families are not good people, however they are still people. Although there are shootings, kidnapping and deaths, it is mild compared to TV shows. However various crimes are listed such as drugs, trafficking as well as prostitution in the list. So if the mention of this will cause you anxiety, please don't read this series. Up to now it is just mentioned not portrayed.
Lorenzo is the oldest in the family who had grown up around Eva, this included bullying in school. As adults, they come together to solve the puzzle of who and why another family is after them.
This is still not the end, but there are another 4 siblings to find their partners. I get so frustrated with myself when my guesses of who the mole is turns up wrong.

I'm sorry, but I hated it. Like, I was literally making a face almost the entire time I was reading it. It felt super forced, and I didn't connect with a single character. He was probably the worst mafia MMC I've ever encountered. Honestly, she felt more mafia than him, even though she couldn't stop using the word "crook."
And him?! OMG. "In our line of work, that was how a guy got capped. [...] My brother Marco would never let me live it down if I got 'capped like a bitch.'". I simply refuse to believe anyone actually talks like that outside of bad mafia movies. And then he had the audacity to say: "I emptied myself deep into her womb". Let’s just... not. Like, eww.
Maybe I’m just being a btch, because this honestly had so much potential. I even put another book on hold for this one, and it ended up slapping me in the face instead. I’m giving it two stars - one because I actually finished it, and one for the potential it could have had.

Intriguing Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance
Eva Rosencrant and Lorenzo Mancini met when they were eight years old. Eva idolized Lorenzo but he just bullied her right up to the last time she saw him in highschool. Now fourteen years later, Lorenzo is speechless when he sees how she has changed. She is the most alluring woman he has ever seen. He will do all in his power to protect her and make her his. Whereas Eva now a competent woman who is out to get revenge for his treatment in highschool. This is a captivating mafia romance with the perfect balance of steam, drama and danger. The strong characters are likeable and well developed. Another great read by Lily J. Adams that ends with a glimpse of what is to come next in this awesome series.

Brackish Boss by Lily J. Adams is another awesome story..book 2 of Mancini crime family series and this is Lorenzo and Eva's turn..This book has it all,danger,action,suspense,intense,drama and romance..i loved it! Lorenzo and Eva known each other since they were children because of their family ties but instead of protecting her Lorenzo bullied her in front of others at their school untill something happened to her that she thought it's Lorenzo's fault..Boys will be boys and do things to a girl that they like..Eva promised herself that she will get even with him someday..But now that she knows him better shes doubting herself and her anger she felt for him is toned-down..But the danger still on and now her life and his families is at stake some wanted them.;can Lorenzo save them?? read it to find out! This is the second book in the Mancini Crime Family series and it's a page turner. Like most mafia romances is full of danger, drama and lots of fast action. The Mancini family runs the city and they are a force to be reckoned with. Eva and Lorenzo were not friends in school as always bullied her. She was frumpy and the daughter of his father's attorney. Fast forward 15 years and she's gorgeous and a crackerjack attorney who has come to replace her sick father. Her resentment toward him is still there but their chemistry is off the charts. Things heat up and eventually there's an HEA for them. But not before they have to endure a lot from their opposing mafia crime family. This series just gets better and more intense. The characters are interesting and the story line is a page turner. I read a free advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

I really enjoyed this book because it was a little bit of bully romance with enemies to lovers kind of romance. This one caught my attention pretty quickly, it was well-written and fast-paced. It also was a good different read that I enjoyed. This one definitely
The FMC Eva has changed since High School and turned into a beauty that sparkles in Lorenzo's eyes. Lorenzo was Eva's tormentor when she was in high school and she is reluctant to want to get to know Lorenzo. I loved the dynamic between these two and how they come together. He keeps her safe in exchange for having her help.
Overall, such a good story. I loved how thrilling, fun and sexy it was. It had my heart racing, and was filled with so much passion. It is definitely an adventure I would want to take. I was enthralled throughout the whole book.

I went on this one blindfolded. Although this one’s the 2nd book and I haven’t read the first, I was looking for books with this exact plot and I just went for it.
It’s good - I liked the main characters a lot, Eva and Lorenzo, and they had a good connection going on. I wanted to read a story with the bully romance BUT was also expecting a super good groveling as well… that didn’t happen tho…
He was kinda mean to her in their high school back in the days, made his friends tease her and harass her (even if it was unconscious, he didn’t stop it either) and she was described as a ugly and weird person by him - the least he could do was actually WORK to make her fall in love with him. And no, a simple apology wasn’t enough…
I loved how fierce she was on their first encounter, how powerful she was on showing what a great woman she had become. I would love if she managed to continue her feisty attitude and showed him that the girl he thought he knew was gone - I think it would be nice if she came back a real empowered woman, with great experience with men…
Because I felt that her being a virgin just added to the feeling of a dependency from Eva to Lorenzo - like the fierce attorney was still the same shy girl that hung up on him…
Anyways, I devoured this book (I’ve literally read this book in one day and a half) so I think I’ll read some other books by this author 🤪

Anyways, I devoured this book (I’ve literally read this book in one day and a half) so I think I’ll read some other books by this author 🤪

Brackish Boss Lily J. Adams
I really enjoyed reading this book. It grabbed my attention on the first page and held it through the entire book. It is a quick, well-written, fast-paced, read with lots of twists and turns and ends in a HEA. I loved the H and h in this book. In my opinion, this book was better than Book 1 in the series (only because the h in book 1 was totally unlikeable with no redeeming qualities). I was shocked that in this book the family was attacked multiple times and did not retaliate even once. What MAFIA family wouldn’t retaliate when their family is attacked? Still, I enjoyed the book and I look forward to reading future books in this series.

A good story. Eva Rosencrantz was bullied through most of high school by Lorenzo Mancini. Fifteen years later she finds herself having to work with him.
The blurb didn't interest me. The opening chapter wasn't much better. If I wasn't familiar with the author's other stories, I might have skipped it altogether. I'd have been wrong. Once I got to Eva's side of the story, it started to draw me in.
There were still some uncomfortable parts. But it does have an almost HEA. Overall worth reading.
Action-packed. Entertaining. Page-turner. Romantic. Scary. Steamy. Tear-jerker. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

Excellent second book in the series
It's an excellent romance, full of action, twists and turns. There is no dead time, but on the other hand a lot of deaths. This is the second book in the series (no need to read the first to understand this one), and we follow the story of Lorenzo, the "CEO" of the Mafia family Mancini, and Eva, his lawyer who hates him since their teenage years.
Their relationship is stormy: he talks to her, she explodes, insults him, pushes him away, all under torrid tension.
It is an excellent story during which I never got bored.

Lorenzo and Eva!
From school to adult life Eva is bully in school so bad and even assaulted very badly that she thought Lorenzo was behind but later in life they meet again when she takes over her father ,but the attacks still happen,not just her but Lorenzo and even his brothers and places they own.They finally make sense of why and who is behind the attacks but they lost many lives.While this going on Lorenzo and Eva work on getting to know each other and she even tells him what happened in school and he says he wasn't behind it and she trust him and they become a very happy couple!

I’m so sorry, but this bored the hell out of me. He was pathetic and weak, she was annoying and her personality didn’t give the “confident transformation era” that I think it was trying to. She just came off as embarrassing and bitchy to me.
I don’t know man, but neither of them were particularly likable to me. And honestly, I probably could’ve gotten past my dislike for the characters had I actually been entertained. I just couldn’t, for the life of me, care about this book at all. I’m honestly baffled, with all the positive reviews, I was certain I would enjoy it, but I ended up skimming mostly.
Shame, I really wanted to love this. Hopefully my next read is better.

I love this series more and more with each book.
Finishing Savage Hero, I wonder whi will be next and I read the spoiler for this one.
This enthrall me and I want to read Eva’s story, becouse that spoiler breaked my heart and revolt me in her behalf.

This book was suspenseful and filled with action. Had me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering if this family will ever get a break.
This book was also emotional and saddening, knowing how badly one is bullied and picked on.. but even though Eva had a hard childhood she grew up to be a strong willed woman who will never be pushed around.
From enemies to lovers, even though Eva hated Lorenzo they could not deny the attraction between eachother.
I absolutely love this series and can't wait to read what happens next.

Flash to the future when the so called ugly duckling (Eva) had turned into a swan in Lorenzo's eyes. She is in New Orleans to take the place of her ailing father who is the Mancini lawyer. The cartel is again attacking the Mancini business and homes. While Eva tries to help find an end to this harassment Lorenzo promises to keep her safe. You will enjoy this journey of their romance.

But when her father falls ill she has no choice but to work with him.
Eva can now hold her own, but insecurities from her past are hard to forget.
These two are like oil and water, but together they are definitely a force to be considered.

I really enjoyed this book! I liked how Lorenzo was intrigued by Eva at a young age but so caught up in being the "popular, cool" kid that he couldn't show it. Eva was the true ugly duckling transformed into the swan! She turned out to be a smart, sharp tongued, no holding back gutsy lady. When danger catches up to the two of them they find out that they make a formidable team that sizzle both in and outside of the bedroom! I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

This book just wasn't for me.
This is a new author to me and based on the high star rating this book got, I decided to try it.
I like my hero to be a badass and a real Alpha. I found Lorenzo to be a weak hero, I mean he is supposed to belong to this badass mafia family that is top dog, but they kept getting hit by the cartel that they where unable to take down.
Only highlight for me, was that Eva returned as a real badass.

Her father works for his Dad, and when he becomes ill, Eva takes his place. That means she comes face to face with her old tormentor, Lorenzo, again. Can they work past their old issues, and look to the future? Or will old feelings between them get in the way?

I’m enjoying this offset of the Rebel Saints. These character are dangerous people, who take no crap , and find the only other people who can handle them and their egos.
Lorenzo and Eva are members of the same crime family, he’s the heir apparent and she’s the lawyer for the family. They have known each other since they were young, and have a love/hate relationship up until she left the school.
Eva is trying to figure out who is skimming money from the business,and to help her father out. This puts her right in the path of Lorenzo.
The family is taking fire from all sides and no one is safe. When the enemies, take Eva as a hostage ,all bets are off and everyone is out to avenge her. They make inroads into forming a group like in New York,to have extra men and fire power if needed.
Lorenzo and Eva stop fighting their feelings and each other and let the love flow.

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great drama and romance with wonderful world building.

I liked how these two got together and their history. It was thrilling to have two lines of mystery/suspense set up. I enjoy getting to know this family more. Even though everything is criminal, it’s a fun world to lose yourself in. There are quite a few steamy scenes.
