Rate this book
This is a true story. For twenty years in the heart of Kansas, a serial rapist has been preying on female students at two large universities—Kansas State and the University of Kansas. He has stalked them to their off-campus apartments and in the middle of the night appeared in their bedrooms. The “Kansas College Rapist” has committed at least 15 attacks, but after years of investigations and over a thousand leads he is still at large. Now and for the first time, survivors of his attacks are stepping forward to tell their stories and publicly expose details about his crimes. Together, with the local police in Kansas and the U.S. Marshals, the series Midwest Monster is working to help to identify and capture the Kansas College Rapist.

This show was very well done. As sorta sick as it sounds they did a good job of describing what really happened. Of course they kept the victims integrity paramount, but lots of shows now are way too over the top when it comes to some true crime, especially rape, where they almost dont even tell you anything about the actual incident. You just feel so much more invested imo when the journalist covers things in the manner this show did. It brings you closer to the perp as well. Sickens the stomach! And i think I speak for plenty of True Crime genre fans when I say that it’s really interesting to hear as much as possible about the crime, the scene, and what was done. C’mon, that’s what set the hook in MY mouth years ago…years ago. It’s interesting.
Anyway, like I said, don’t expect anything too graphic here either, but they def did a good job with bringing you INTO the story. Really good pod. Highly addictive. Give it a listen.
