Chasing Love #3

Chasing Desire

Rate this book
It's her best friend's wedding, and Autumn Lane is trussed up in a pink bridesmaid dress with a big “everything is great” smile plastered across her face. She's not going think about her life imploding, or spending the next two weeks housesitting in the ridiculously small town of Diamond. No, she'd rather think about the tattooed hottie in the wedding party...and how to turn the wicked way he’s looking at her into a night of intense pleasure.

Huck Galvin is fiercely attracted to his mystery woman's no-BS attitude, but their one-night-no-strings plan backfires when Huck discovers that Autumn is the out-of-towner he's “chaperoning” for the next two weeks. Outside the bedroom, the two can’t stand each other, yet Huck can’t deny how much he wants one more night with her. But Autumn isn't going to make it easy for Huck. Not by a long shot...

Lost.
This was the lost she was looking for. A lost she'd never felt, because somewhere in her foggy mind, she realized she was losing herself TO a man. That had never really happened. She'd never clung so hard to anyone. In any sense.

I've been a huge fan of this series since the very first book, and Joya continues to hold the mark with her swoon worthy and sexy heroes, fantastic heroines, and sizzling hot sex. Every book she seems to give one unforgettable scene to the readers. In Chasing Trouble there was the forest scene, Chasing Temptation was pretty much every scene with Bass. And after reading this book, you'll never look at mechanic's shop the same again. Trust me on this.
You like it hard, woman?" he said between gritted teeth, fucking her with- she was sure-- all his strength. And she gave all her strength back, taking everything he had.
"Yes. Hard. Deep. Don't hold back."

While I can't say this was my favorite in the series, it was still a fun and sexy read that enjoyed from beginning to finish.

Autumn is down on her luck. Her father's gambling habit lost her her beloved shop, and her boyfriend just broke up with her because she wasn't 'doing it for him.' She knows that she's not a girly girl and she's usually not self conscious about the fact that she'd rather spend her time under a car then in front of a mirror preening. She's no longer looking for forever. And sitting at her best friend's wedding, surrounded by so much happy, she needs something to take her mind off her own misery...or someone.

Huck, the tatted and pierced bad boy with the good ol' boy souther charm is just the distraction she was looking for. But what she thought would be one night of nameless and sizzling hot sex, turns out to be so much more when Autumn realizes that Huck is also a groomsman in her friend's wedding.

Autumn was just the type of heroine I love to read about. She had just that right amount of confidence and vulnerability to her that made her extremely endearing. She's a tough girl but with a soft center that hasn't had the luxury of being able to rely on anyone but herself since she lost her mother all those years ago.

Huck is taken with the dark haired beauty right away. But he's also a man that suffers from his own demons. When his finance broke his heart by walking out on him 3 years ago, he swore never to be the one left again. The last thing he wants is to get attached to any woman and give her the power to break him again, but there's no harm in spending hot and sweaty nights between the sheets with a woman that tempts him like no other, especially since she plans on leaving in two weeks anyway.
Only Autumn WAS the wind. No, she was the storm. The one that came out of nowhere, kicked his ass, and then left soft little rays of sunshine behind in her wake.

But it's not long before the sizzling hot passion between them begins to turn into something so much...more.

This book, much like the first 2 in the series, was incredibly sexy. Huck and Autumn definitely burn up the pages together.
He didn't give her false hope. He just owned what he wanted. Admitted it. And let her accept or push away.
"Who do I want, Autumn?" he rasped.
"Me," she whispered.
He slapped her ass with his free hand and thrust hard again. "I couldn't hear you."
"Me, you want me."

My only complaint is how quickly things progressed with them in the 2 weeks. But then again, it did fit the characters and their story.

I'm really looking forward to Ryder's book next and can't wait to see more from Joya. She's quickly become an auto buy author for me, and deservedly so.

“Chasing Desire” is the third book in Joya Ryan’s series “Chasing Love”, but you can read it as a standalone. This third installment is about Huck, who we met in the previous books in the series and Autumn, Jenna’s friend (the heroine from “Chasing Trouble”). A second chance at love, "Chasing Desire" was a sweet and sexy read and if you enjoyed the other books in the series, I really recommend it.

“I think I just found what I’m looking for,”
“Ah, fate is kind,” he said. “Because so am I.”
“And what is it you’re looking for?”
“You.”

Autumn is down on her luck. She lost everything - her house, her job and her boyfriend. She doesn’t want a boyfriend right now. This time she’s done jumping from relationship to relationship, but this doesn’t mean she doesn’t want a one night stand. In a bar she spots a hot tattooed man who is more than willing to be her man for just one night.

Huck is not looking for something long term. Since his fiancée left him years ago he didn’t get involved with a woman longer than a single night.

“There was a vulnerability encased by so much strength that he thought he’d imagined the brief look of sadness behind her eyes.”

Huck is drawn to Autumn from the very first moment. He can tell she’s different from any other woman he met. Autumn is more than attracted to Huck and even if he doesn’t know his name she wants to spend one hot night with him.

description

They meet again and Autumn finds out who Huck really is - one of the groomsmen of her best friend’s wedding. When Huck finds out that Autumn will be in town for two weeks house sitting for their friends he’s very happy to show her around. Autumn is more than a pretty face, Huck is sure of that. She’s a challenge and he wants more days and nights with her.

“What exactly would you like me to get on?”(…)
“What are my options?”
“I could get on your cock,”(..)
“I could ride you all night, until you’re spent and exhausted and begging for a break.”(..)
“Or I could push you down and get on that hot tongue of yours.”

description

Both Huck and Autumn start to want more from each other, their relationship changes and their affair becomes more that a simply affair with each and every day. But what happens at the end of these two weeks when Autumn has to leave?

“Huck Galvin was her home now. Wanted to be. Because he wanted her. Had chosen her.”

I really enjoyed this one! Autumn was a great heroine and I liked her personality. I liked that she’s not a girly girl. She’s mouthy and strong and just an endearing character. She’s strong, but she's vulnerable at the same time. Huck was pretty great too. He’s dominant, but he’s open and honest and sweet and caring too. I liked how he is with Autumn and how he makes her feel special and feminine. They really have a great chemistry and together they are smoking hot. The sex scenes are off the charts hot, intense and passionate. I also enjoyed the teasing and the dynamic between them.

It was nice to meet again the other characters from the previous books. Penny was such a great friend to Autumn. Can't wait to read more about the other characters in the series.

Overall, an enjoyable read!

4 - "You want another ride?" Stars!

Joya Ryan, was one of my top author discoveries of 2014. Although not a new author on the block by any means, I discovered her impressive talent for storytelling with the release of the Chasing Love Series through Entangled's Brazen imprint. Her books offer everything I want to read in a romance, and the third book in the series Chasing Desire is no exception.

"I just want some of your time."

Huck Galvin has been very present in the previous two books in the series, and although you get too see his 'happy go-lucky' side as a secondary character, you get to see the true man in this book. I loved him! As a character he has two of my most favorite things as a man his personality and past offered everything I wanted to read about. Dirty talking, soft-centered, low on dramatics, high on humor.

She was oil stained, and he was dusty and dirty, and damn if they didn't fit perfect.

Joya turned the tables a little on this couple as well, Autumn isn't your average girl in a bind, she's super feisty, happy to one-up Huck in every way possible whenever she can, and go after her own wants and needs, and not just sit back and let a guy dominate her, in any way.

Enemies in every way but in the bedroom.

And boy did it make for some fantastic follow-up conversations and sexy times when Huck managed to pin Autumn down.

Topping Huck Galvin would be time well spent.

Joya, has a writing style you can't help but become engaged in and fall in love with. I really enjoyed these characters and their trials and tribulations in getting to their Happily ever after, this series just goes from strength to strength in my opinion.

I hope we don't have to wait too long for Ryder's book. I also hope to see more books and Series from Joya through Entangled in the months and years to come. She is a talent to definitely keep hold of in my opinion!

Fun, fast, and sexy series. Book two was my favorite so far. I'm loving how all the extra junk is left out. It shortens the book to a one-sitting read and moves the series quickly on. Kinda bummed I have to wait for book four.

4 Huckleberry stars

I've thoroughly enjoyed this series, and the 3rd book didn't disappoint. Joya Ryan has a great talent in drawing you into her stories immediately.

Autumn Lane is in town for her best friends wedding. She is a tomboy at heart, having grown up in the bosom of mechanics, and is inwardly abhorred by the flouncy bridesmaid paraphernalia she is expected to wear. But that is the least of her worries, seeing as though she is now without a home, job or love interest, through no fault of her own, following an unexpected turn of events.

Having arrived late at her hotel, she finds herself in the bar, consuming cocktails in a bid to consider which way she needs to surge forward in the life stakes. She also contemplates her latest relationship failure and whether a one hight stand may help to kickstart her into success, especially with the extremely appealing man she saw in the hotel earlier.

Huck Galvin is surrounded by loved up friends, so he retreats to the bar on the eve of his latest friend's nuptials. He has been bitten by the love bug previously, but was then dramatically dumped leaving him convinced his happiness lies in nothing more than one night dalliances.

I really enjoyed Huck and Auto's journey out of combined worthlessness. Huck was a very pleasing dominant, art filled, dirty talking cutie, who contradicted everything his visual fierceness conveyed.

”Your laugh is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. I just wanted a taste of it.”

Auto was ballsy, knew what she wanted and had no qualms about asking for it. She gave Huck a run for his money, and whilst recognising the dominance in Huck, she was floored by his ability to submit to her. Their chemistry hissed in the bedroom, whilst they struggled to align what each was searching for outside of it.

”She was the colour in his life.”

This has been a fab series, with each contribution containing the elements I greatly enjoy in a story, and epitomises what the Brazen imprint is about.

If you are looking for a sweet, sexy, steamy romance then look no further than a Joya Ryan book. Ms. Ryan never disappoints me and I can always rest assured that she will have her readers swooning for her alpha male heroes. In this third installment of the Chasing Love Series, Joya Ryan had me hooked right off the opening pages. Hearts will be swooning and panties will be melting when you meet Autumn Lane and Huck Galvin in Chasing Desire. Can two dominating personalities who have been burned by their past find a second chance at love? Can a one night of pure fun sex lead to more than one night?

#cHASINGDESIRE

Autumn Lane is a sexy confident woman, who is sassy and has no filter. But when she finds herself with no job, no home and no boyfriend, she is on the hunt for one night of an unadulterated hot sex with a stranger. Something to clear her mind of all her troubles. So when she meets this hot, sexy tatted up stranger in a bar, she threw caution to the wind and said why not. One night of pure sex with no strings attached...what’s the harm? Well as it turns out, this stranger happens to be one of the groomsmen of her best friend’s wedding. And this stranger will be keeping her company while she house sits for her friend. Autumn’s world is shaken when Huck Galvin makes it known that he wants more than one night with her. With sexual chemistry sizzling between these two, one night leads to several more hot passionate nights. Can Huck make Autumn see that maybe her luck has changed? And can Autumn make Huck realize that she is not like his ex-girlfriend? Can two broken people finally admit their feelings for each other and see that there is only thing that they both desire… It’s each other.

Chasing Desire was another beautiful installment to this hot sexy Chasing Love Series. This book was a fast sexy read that kept you entertained. The story line and writing was beautifully well done and there is never a dull moment when it comes to Autumn and Huck!! The seasons may change but one thing remains, Autumn and Huck are one sexy couple who will heat up those up those e-readers!!! A must read for all you Joya Ryan fans!!

Autumn Lane is at a crossroads in her life, her father gambled away her business and she found out her ex was just using her. Now she has to be faux happy as a bridesmaid, however she is thinking more about her housesitting gig and getting her life in order. Deciding she needs a distraction she offers one night to a man who is pure sin,he takes her up on it.

Huck Galvin was burned by his ex and has not been interested in getting involved with another one. However seeing the beauty at the bar filled with sass, his interest is definitely peaked. One night he can do, however when he wakes up she is gone and that leaves him unsatisfied. Realizing that the same women is Autumn and he has been asked to help her out while she house sits works perfectly. He wants more, she is not sure but as the chemistry becomes to much to refuse they both find themselves on shaky ground. Both want something more but can they admit it to each other before it is too late?

Delicious fun. Definitely has sizzle. Liked this couple, I think because they both have been burned before they are cynical where the other is concerned. Huck becomes an instant favorite, looking for a good distraction this is a book to pick up.

While this may not be my most fave Entangled Brazen, it still is Entangled Brazen. So what does that mean? Yummy sexy scenes, that's what *g*

We have the story of Autumn and Huck that started out as a supposed 1-night stand which really turned out to be not so much. Autumn had men in her life walking out on her, and Huck had a woman walking out on him. Put them together and you get paranoid insecurity in a nutshell. So talk about guarded hearts! It's quite sad and endearing all at once... to a degree, anyways.

I thought the H&h were in their respective heads a lot. Yet, strangely enough, I still didn't fully connect with their emotions. I also didn't fully get the I-can't-stand-you parts.

Oh BUT I definitely bought the heat!!! The moment those sexy scenes started, somehow, I get the pull. And I must have been more engrossed in the story than I thought because it was over before I knew it; to a point that I was disappointed when it finished. As it turned out, I guess the characters and the story did get under my skin after all.

I've loved this series; each time Joya Ryan has brought her reader an entertaining read with great characters and their own brand of hot and sexy. And whilst Chasing Desire isn't my favourite of the three so far, it was a still a book I devoured.

“No way was he getting involved with a woman longer than a single night. Nope.”

When Huck Galvin's head is turned but a pretty lady sat all alone in a bar, little does he realise her thoughts match his. And mechanic Autumn Lane has decided she fancies a night of no-strings fun with the sexy tattooed stranger. The stranger who unbeknownst to both of them is set to be her 'chaperone' whilst she house sits for her best-friend.

description

Once again, Joya has brought us a couple with a sizzling chemistry who compliment each other perfectly. Both are broken, bother have been hurt and both are reluctant to open-up, but neither can fight their desire and not only do they burn in the bedroom, but they unleash the softer side of one another.

description

It may not have held any particular surprises, but if you are partial to a tattooed, dirty talking softie and stubborn, sparky lady then I'm certain you'll enjoy this. I love the dynamic of this group of friends and look forward to Ryder's story.

The saying of never judge a book by it’s cover is perfect for Huck Galvin and Autumn Lane. Huck has the looks of a bad boy, with tattoos and piercings, but he’s actually a good guy who’s hiding a sweet side. Autumn is drop dead gorgeous with a biker chick vibe and is more at home under the hood of a car than a dress and heels. She likes to pretend that she’s all tough, but she’s as soft as a marshmallow.

Huck and Autumn are two characters who are so imperfect, they’re perfect for each other. Both have had people they care about break their hearts and leave them. They’re emotionally broken and do their best to keep people at a distance.

There is no denying that passion exists between them. But outside of the bedroom, they are like cats and dogs. They have two weeks to be brave and bold enough to ask for what they truly desire, at the risk of yet another broken heart.

I really liked Chasing Desire and Huck and Autumn. I loved their story and the back and forth banter between the two and their friends. The Chasing Love Series is truly a wonderful series. However, I didn’t find the story to be as hot and heavy as the previous books in the series. There’s definitely sex in the book, but I felt this was more a story of two people getting over past hurts and a journey towards the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. If you’re looking for a book with two characters you can root for and adore, Chasing Desire is definitely for you.

You know its gonna be a good day when you get to go back to the delightful little town of Diamond and catch up with the gang there.... I love this series and could not wait to read Huck's book.

He might actually even be my favourite in this series so far.... I mean hello he is tattooed, pierced and a dirty talker....what more could a girl want!!!!

The story starts on the night before Jenna and Colts wedding and Huck goes into the bar where he encounters a beautiful women who looks like she is drowning her sorrows. They stat talking and flirting and she ends up back in Huck's hotel room. They don't exchange names and know this is just going to be one hot night of sex and nothing more. That is until the next day when she shows up at the wedding as one of Jenna's bridesmaids....

Autumn is down on her luck. She has lost her business, her home and her boyfriend.....At least she has a place to stay for the next 2 weeks as she house sits for her friend Jenna who is going on honeymoon. When she encounters a sexy hot guy at the bar, she is more than down for a hot one night stand to take her mind of everything....after all she wants nothing more to do with relationships.....

Thus begins Autumn and Huck's story of 2 very reluctant people who don't do commitments.....;)

This is the 3rd book in this series and although they can all be read as stand alones, I highly recommend you start at book 1 as they are truly great reads...

Looking forward to Ryder's book and oh yes Lily's as well!!!!

In this edition of the Chasing Love series we meet Huck and Autumn. Huck is the eternal bachelor after being scorned by a past girlfriend. The two of them meet the night before Jenna & Colt's nuptials. Their one night is all that Autumn wants, thinking that she will never see Huck again. Because of her past and insecurities, she leaves Huck sleeping off their escapade without saying goodbye. Unbeknownst to Autumn she comes face to face with Huck the very next day and Huck is not very happy to be the one left. Autumn is house-sitting for the two newlyweds and it gives Huck just enough opportunity to get her out of his system, or at least that's what his intentions initially were. Their relationship progresses into an enticing read, that makes you fall in love with the two of them. I think I can say that Huck is my favorite so far!!! Now we just need to find out what happens with Ryder....

I had an unplanned day off work today (thank you 6″ of snow and the Federal Gov’t closing), so in typical fashion after shoveling myself out of my driveway, I jumped in the car and headed out for a pedicure, kindle in hand with Joya Ryan’s new book just sitting there waiting to be read. Yes, I am that kind of dork when it comes to reading! So I settled in to get my pedicure, opened my kindle and was sucked into Huck and Autumn (Auto’s) story. I’d read the first book in the series previously (although not the second), so I knew the context in which the opening scenes took place (and while I think this could easily be read as a stand-alone – knowing the previous couples in the series is also advantageous).

Ms Ryan has a very smooth but energetic way of story-telling – you find yourself sucked into the story, clicking away one page/screen at a time, and before I knew it, I was over 3/4 of the way done (thankfully, I still had to wait for my toe nails to finish drying, so I could finish reading before I left). but I’m sure no one wants to read about my adventures in pedicures (although I will admit picking a nail polish can be kind of an adventure) ;) So on to the book…

Where to begin…I loved Autumn as a character, she was kick-ass and thankfully didn’t have any TSTL moments (to stupid to live) like many heroines in romances nowadays. Her job as a mechanic was something different (I can only think of one other romance featuring a female mechanic right now (Start Me Up – Victoria Dahl) – although plenty of ones with male mechanics (maybe because the visual of a grimy, sweaty man just makes hearts go aflutter). And you could tell that the author had done her research and Autumn was believable in how she presented herself – her job wasn’t just in the story as a place-holder/in the background – it was an active part in moving the plot and relationship between her and Hank forward. Seriously, I mean, not many women (at least that i know) would grab tools on the day of a friends wedding (while she is supposed to be getting ready) to fix something that needed fixing…I’m just sayin’

And then there was Huck…ok, so yeah, the name threw me at the beginning because it just seemed to out of left field – I mean, I was having visions of Huckleberry Finn at times, and not the tattooed/pierced bad boy he was. While he was presented in a very visual way, I do wish some more of him as a person was developed – there were some great one-liners with him and his father about his lack of mechanical skills (even if he could build anything else) – and I felt the lose that he suffered, that made him part of the curmudgeon that he could be seen as being early on in the story.

As with my previous books i’ve read by her, one of Ms Ryan’s strengths is the secondary characters who appear in the town. I particularly liked Huck’s father and you could see from his characterization how much he loved his son/wanted to see him be happy. I also liked seeing Jenna and Colt (from bk 1 again); and now I want to go back and read book 2 for Penny and Sebastian’s story. if you want a fun, smexy, mostly-angst free contemporary romance, I highly recommend Joya Ryan’s Chasing love series. 4 stars

Joya Ryan has done it again with the third book in the Chasing series.  By "done it again" I mean that she has written another book that I thoroughly enjoyed.  And by thoroughly enjoyed, I mean that I may have had an out of body experience after Autumn and Huck's first "encounter."  Um yeah.

Huck and Autumn are both filled with baggage.  Autumn is used to being on her own, with no real friends or family to depend on. Huck has a huge issue with commitment and likes the be the guy who leaves at the end of the night.  These two make quite a couple!  Sometimes when characters are so rife with issues, it drives me nuts.  I have to say that I did not feel annoyed at all by their issues and appreciated how Ms. Ryan set them up to move beyond those issues with each other.

Autumn has no real friends to speak of and she gets pulled into a group of girlfriends in Diamond.  She never really had friends she could talk to and depend on and she never truly realized the value of having people to count on, until you actually do. She is a fantastic character, gutsy, independent and funny!

As for Huck?  This explains it pretty well:
Jesus, the man was mouth-watering hot.  A small town good ol' boy with a wild side and ink to match it.

And...
No one looked at her the way Huck did.  Like she was desirable.  Like she was more than what she appeared.

He kind of took me by surprise at times.  He is so hell bent on being that "leaver" but he is a really passionate, sweet and giving lover.  Huck and Autumn are quite well matched, one isn't all that dominant over the other so much as they just worked well in and out of bed.  There were times where little things he said to her ("I'm lovin' on you.") made get all melty.

"It's fine."

He nodded.  "Yeah, I know. You're strong.  Everything will always be fine."  He cupped her face and brought her lips to his.  "But you deserve better than fine.  You deserve amazing."

Yeah.  I kinda love Huck.  Great book, great epilogue and I can't wait for more in this series!!!

The Chasing Love series is one of my favorites; the characters are worth reading about, and the whole romance is sexy as hell. First two books, Chasing Trouble and Chasing Temptation, had already featured the pairing of Bull rider Colt and School teacher Jenna, and Attorney Bass and Bar owner Penelope, respectively. Oh, Good'ol Diamond. How I've missed you and your lovable residents.

In continuation to Jenna and Colt's wedding preparations in Chasing Temptation; this book features the big day itself. Autumn "Auto" Lane is one of the bridesmaids and an old best friend of Jenna, and when she arrives to Diamond, she didn't expect to meet a tattooed hottie and let alone have a hot one night stand with him. Turns out, he's also part of Jenna and Colt's wedding entourage. Yippee. And Huck didn't expect the sexy woman he spent the night with was the "Auto" girl he was supposed to "babysit" for the time being during her stay in Diamond.

Poor Autumn is in need of a distraction during her two week stay at Diamond. After her father gambled away her mechanic shop and her boyfriend broke up with her just because she didn't satisfy him enough; she's just broken. And with Huck in the picture, he just seems to be perfect for the role.

Huck isn't looking for a relationship after being burned by his ex-fiance who just walked out on him three years ago. Although he seems to be all cool and suave, he suffers an insecurity of being "left behind", but the sexy Autumn isn't going to stay either way, so might as well fool around the whole two weeks.

Autumn's character is definitely a favorite among most heroines I've read. She's a tough nut to crack, and is a total hottie. She's the dream girl; a tall, sexy brunette who knows her way around cars. Her confidence as a woman is astounding, but at the same time, she's soft and vulnerable.

Meanwhile, Huck was the perfect tattooed bad boy. Funny how he's just a bad boy by looks, but he's got the sweetest southern boy personality. A total gentleman, but broken at the same time. I love reading about broken heroes. They always make the best stories. And did I mentioned that he's got piercings?

Together, Autumn and Huck were pretty much explosive. They killed the whole book. Every turn of a page exhuded sizzles from how hot and steamy their relationship was. Joya Ryan is definitely one of the authors I've read that write the best steamy scenes!

However, the whole read was just too short for my liking. I wanted more of Autumn and Huck, but unfortunately, it appeared to be kind of rushed.

I'm looking forward to more of Joya Ryan and the next book to this series because it just keeps getting better and better. If you're looking for steamy reads, look no further. Joya Ryan's Chasing Love series will be your next favorite once you get started on it.

What do you get when two commitment-phobes meet, sparks fly, they have one hot night together then awkwardly meet up again at a friend’s wedding? You have Joya Ryan's newest Chasing Love novel and one hot read.

With book three of the Chasing Love series we get the brooding Huck’s story and let me tell you it’s worth the wait. You can read each as a stand-alone, but read them all, you will not be sorry you did. I loved this book. From the humour to the smoking hot sex to the ending that had me awing and sighing with satisfaction this book was a one sitting read for me.

Huck was just delicious, every tattooed, pierced inch of him. Huck who has been burned by a relationship in the past now sits firmly in the no commitment camp. Who would blame him? So when he spots a hot babe at the bar he goes for it and ends up leaving with her. But it’s a one-time deal, just to scratch an itch.

Enter just as jaded over relationships Autumn, in Diamond for her friend’s wedding and some life re-evaluation after losing her home and business. She is there for two weeks and has no intention of staying no matter how hot her night is about to get.

At the wedding Huck and Autumn meet again and the sparks fly again, as well as the insults and snark. They can hardly stand to be in the same room as each other without fighting. But when Huck suggests another night together, things start to get complicated. It was meant to be one night but they can’t deny the attraction between them.

As they get to know each other, the attraction they share grows and they find more neutral ground outside the bedroom. Soon the bickering stops and the spark burns brighter. But these two both know there is a time limit on what they are doing, so they won’t get in any deeper than they already are right?

“Because I enjoy your company.” “The majority of my company has included my thighs around your waist.” “And my neck, don’t forget that. I sure as hell haven’t.” He winked.

But what happens if it’s already too late and they have done the unthinkable and fallen for each other. Can they overcome their crappy past relationships to find happiness with each other before it’s too late and they end up alone or will some timely advice help them find a way to be together?

Keep an eye out for the other guys to make an appearance and to keep things light and fun. Though this book has liberal amounts of fun and grin inducing moments. This may be my favourite of the three books so far and I have my fingers crossed that Huck’s friend Ryder gets a story soon. I’m not ready to leave these guys yet.

This was a hot, fun, unputdownable read for me and I look forward to many more from this author.

I was supplied a copy of this book for an honest review by the publisher.

Every month, I make it a point to read every new release from Entangled Brazen because there's always a steamy romance, a guaranteed Happily Ever After, and characters that ignite a flame in each other, perfectly and thoroughly complementing each other in such a way that leaves no doubt the two are meant to be together. Joya Ryan’s Chasing Desire is an excellent example of what makes Brazen books so addictive, bringing two characters together on an emotionally intense and unbelievably sensual journey. From their first erotic encounter, the chemistry between protagonists, Autumn Lane and Huck Galvin, only continues to increase in intensity, elevating each interaction between them to a new level of intimacy as each of them blossoms under the careful attentions of the other.

The plot to Chasing Desire is fairly straightforward: two attractive individuals have a one-night stand then a stroke of fate finds them back in each other’s lives. While the setup may seem familiar (especially if you’re a Brazen fan), Chasing Desire distinguishes itself through engaging writing and detailed character development. Autumn is a down-on-her-luck mechanic in desperate need of a fresh start while Huck exemplifies the term emotionally closed-off with his insistence on keeping his interactions with women to strictly sexual on a one-time basis. Their flirtation was fueled by physical attraction and a healthy dose of repugnance that could turn a friendly conversation into a heated debate in the blink of an eye. While they seemed to lack the ability to be cordial in public, they had absolutely no issue creating a spark in the bedroom because: hate sex.

What I found most captivating about Huck and Autumn’s relationship was that these were two clearly independent people, both gun-shy with less-than-positive views of the opposite sex, yet when they came together it was nothing short of spectacular. With each other, they are able to bare their true selves, flaws and all, which I appreciated as a reader because it established a deeper connection between them. Chasing Desire was everything I look for in a Brazen book – entertaining and sexy with characters befitting of the Brazen title. It’s the perfect solution if you're craving a quick, relatively lighthearted read, delivering a more-than-satisfactory romance between characters you come to know and love over the course of the narrative.

****An Advance Reader's Copy of Chasing Desire by Joya Ryan was generously provided to me via publisher in exchange of honest review.

Surprisingly, I loved it!

It's been a while since I read ARC and god knows I still have two piles that need to be read soon. I kind of reluctant to read this book, because the latest Brazen books I read was pretty shitty. But this book, wow, this book is beautiful!

Autumn's best friend is getting married and she's going to be her bridesmaid. She got big smile plastered on her face while on the inside she just want to cry. Life's pretty suck for her lately until one man change it. Huck's intrigued by the girl with long legs and pretty face. But he refuse to have more, he simply want a one night stand. Or at least that's what he thought he wanted. Apparently Autumn will change everything..

I know the story seems so simple and cliche but, I don't know why I got caught up in it and I'm in love. I can feel Autumn's fear of hoping and Huck's pain of forever. This author's style of writing is good, I definitely enjoyed the storyline.

I don't need to read the previous books of the series to understand this book, but I'm soooo gonna read more of this series. Not gonna lie. ;)

This story pulled me in just from the start.

Loved, loved Autumn. Such a kick ass girl, I wanted to be her friend. She went through a lot in life, really crappy Dad and all around really crappy men. It was understandable her view on men and on permanent things (jobs, cities, friends, etc.), ‘cause in her life NOTHING was permanent, everyone left or things ended. I just wanted to hug her like crazy. This girl needed a friend. Period.

And then came Huck. I loved that he was the one showing Autumn how good things could be if she settled down, even though he had huge hang ups in his life. And that’s the thing I liked about both Huck and Autumn, that they tried.

There was running away, but there was also standing your ground. And I fell for them even more.

A great story, with some pretty hot scenes and sweet moments in there. I particularly loved the epilogue and the little glimpse into their immediate future.

Autumn Lane has lost everything because of her father's gambling. She's determined to start over but first she needs to go to the wedding of her friend, Jenna. She's a bridesmaid after all. There she meets a sexy groomsman and they become involved. Huck Galvin doesn't do commitment. Neither does Autumn. Why can't they stop thinking about each other? The chemistry between these two is amazing. If only they could put their hurt behind them and realize how good they are together. Autumn is an original. She's a mechanic who can fix anything that has wheels. She's strong, but under her exterior there is a woman who carries scars from past rejection. Huck was left by a woman he loved and has vowed that it won't happen again. Love works wonders as these two open their hearts. This book was an emotional ride. The characters were well written and I felt their pain. I wanted them to have a HEA. I saw a future for them in Diamond surrounded by friends. Joya Ryan wrote a love story that had both passion and tenderness. I loved the ending.

With fun characters, strong writing and electric chemistry Chasing Desire has everything. Joya Ryan has created a sensual story full of yearning and self discovery. Autumn is neurotic, lonely and trying to prove she is more than peoples perceptions of her. Huck is lonely, wary and seemingly content with jumping from fling to fling. Chasing Desire is a story of acceptance and love between two people that deserve to be happy. Don't forget the heat.

Loved it. What a great finish to the Brazen series.

Huck was so hot I wanted to lick him. I loved that Autumn was fiercely independent yet slightly broken. A trait I have come to expect and love in Joya's books.

I thought this book was so hot I sent my husband to buy it. You know for research?!?

I received a copy of this book, from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway either my review or my rating!

I'm only two books into this series at this point and I am loving it. I feel like it comes down to the characters for me. There's this closeness and family like vibe to the friendships throughout the series that brings a smile to your face and has me wanting to go find my own little version of Diamond. In addition to the memorable characters you can also expect great storylines, steaminess bordering on on scorching, the men are rugged and very alpha, the girls are sweet and stubborn and feisty. Plus the icing on the cake is the sweet, small town setting that makes you want to pack your bags and go immediately.

Though this series centers around a group of friends from the small town of Diamond, Autumn is a new addition to town. I thought she was so much fun. She's a mechanic and a tomboy, not the typical heroine I'm used to with these kinds of books so it was very refreshing. There's this brokenness about her and she's had a very sad life that has left her with zero self-worth and yet she carries herself with this streak of confidence that was admirable.

Huck was just a great big bowl of yum. I love the fact that even though he's all alpha male, he was also secure enough within himself to ease up on the control every now and again and allow Autumn to take over. The way he carries himself with his group of friends and even his relationship with his father allow you to see that Huck is just this really amazing guy. Even when he messes up with Autumn, because someone always messes up in a really good romance at some point, you know without a doubt that it's not just because he's a complete jerk. He has valid trust issues and you never doubt for one second that Huck isn't a genuine, redeemable guy. Am I smitten or what?

This being my second book by Joya Ryan, the first one was Chasing Temptation book 2 in this series, I'm really falling in love with her writing style. The relationships she's created in both books I've read so far are insanely hot and steamy and yet there is this sweetness and tenderness to them that melts my heart. I adore her characters and the way they all mesh together. You can feel the close bonds of friendship through the writing, the way they give each other crap and support each other, I just want to be friends with everyone! Plus it was so much fun seeing Bass and Penny from the last book make quite a few appearances in this one!

So I still haven't read the first book yet, Chasing Trouble, but now that I have these other two under my belt I immediately bought it before I started writing this review and I can't wait to get to know Jenna and Colt. If, like me, you like a good Brazen I highly recommend this series. They're short, steamy and sweet. The perfect recipe to a good romance!

Thank you Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book!

I’m really racking up the new-to-me-author points this year and it’s barely February!

In town for her best friend’s wedding, mechanic Autumn Lane is at a crossroads in her life. Out of work and with no place to call home, she’s spending the next two weeks house-sitting and hopefully working on what she wants to do next. Right after she has a one night stand with sexy, tattooed stranger Huck Galvin… Who turns out to be a groomsman in the same wedding AND her “chaperone” around the small town of Diamond.

Taking two down and out on love strangers and throwing them together shouldn’t have been as fun as it was but I just couldn’t resist falling in love with both Huck and Autumn! Don’t let her feminine name fool you though, Autumn can think like a man when she needs to! I loved how she didn’t have trouble telling Huck what she wanted, when she wanted it. She wasn’t a fluttery mess around him, she was ballsy, blunt and did I mention a mechanic? Yep, Autumn Lane is that almost perfect mix of professional confidence and personal insecurity, making her well balanced and just right for her masculine counterpart.

Speaking of, that Huck was a tall drink of water I tell you. Tattooed, pierced and just confident enough to be irresistible, he was also kind, generous and a natural care giver. He might have said he didn’t want to get “involved” with Autumn but he was involved from the moment he met her. I don’t think he even knew that he was looking out for her and neither did she. Their romance was a big surprise to them both, sneaking up on them when they least expected it. But before they fell in love, they argued and generally couldn’t get along with each other out of bed, in short, they were a hoot! They seemed to set off a whole new level of snarky sexual tension in each other that alternated between silly, humorous and just plain out hot.

Not only was Chasing Desire fun and flirty, it was funny. Huck and Autumn didn’t really know what to do with each other outside of the bedroom so they fell back on arguing and which created such a thick cloud of sexual tension between the two. They just had to learn how to work through their issues without relying on sex to temporarily quiet them. They both had a lot of emotional baggage to deal with and while they weren’t extremely heavy issues, they did provide the conflict for the story. All in all, author Joya Ryan delivered a fast, fun romp that lived up to my expectations of Brazen’s Entangled line.

Final Verdict: Budget willing, books one and two will be on "Throwback Thursday Reviews" sometime this year.

Chasing Desire is a sweet and spicy quick read. You will be left swooning and breathless as you come across Huck and Autumn’s encounters & follow them through their journey of finally finding their other half.

This is the second novel I’ve read from Joya Ryan and I was not disappointed. What I enjoyed most about the novel were the characters themselves. Huck, Autumn and the gang are such fun and likable characters that you are left wishing you could be part of the group and hang out with them. I also very much enjoyed the dual POV. I absolutely LOVE IT when we’re able to see through the eyes of both main characters. I feel that it brings so much to the story and helps readers understand the characters much better. Joya Ryan does a great job of this. Through her writing you are able to experience first-hand the hardships both characters went through that led to them becoming guarded and produced loneliness, loss of hope, and not being able to trust anyone when it came to matters of the heart.

Autumn is total kickass! I loved her. She’s strong, loyal, independent, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. The past is something she wishes she could forget but unfortunately its something she can’t let go of because of insecurity. To everyone, Autumn presents an image of an unfazed, “nothing can hurt me" woman. When inside, she’s hurting. That all changes when Huck comes blazing through.

Huck is a dreamboat!! Tattoos, piercings, and a huge heart. What more can a girl ask for ;-) Trust me, once you read the book, it will be hard not to love him. He’s the kind of guy who you know will always have your back, someone you can depend on. Unfortunately, due to past hurt, Huck’s desire to be in a relationship i pretty much nonexistent. One night with Autumn, has him rethinking his stance on sharing a future with someone.

Huck and Autumn both went through quite the damaging ordeals but finally they were able to find the missing piece they were both unconsciously looking for; each other. And finally they were made whole.

I'm really loving this series by Joya Ryan, a new author to me, and I'm looking forward to reading her back catalogue. The Chasing Love series is an interconnecting collection of stories centering around a tight-knit group, set in the town of Diamond. This time we are privy to Huck's story. I strongly recommend starting at book #1 so you are totally immersed in this friendship group.

I knew there was heartache behind this mans eyes, and when Autumn rides into his life, those fears and memories come to the surface. Autumn challenges Huck at every turn, calling him out on his behaviour and digging deeper for the truth behind his actions. A man not used to being challenged, Autumn throws him off balance, stirring a deep and magnetic attraction, pushing him to address the reasons for the walls he has built around his heart, and the reasons why he fights so hard to keep them in place. I love the blend of strong alpha male and all too human vulnerability Huck showed. He could be strong and commanding but also gentle and sweet.

Autumn is one tough chick. She has survived a no-hoper of a father and boyfriend and has come out the other side determined to move on and never place herself in a position where she is left high and dry again. I really felt for Autumn, she had been through a lot, a victim of other people's poor choices and poor behaviour. She had a lot of spunk and character and I admired her strength to pick up and start again. At times her inner dialogue was a bit repetitive, but this didn't detract from the overall story. It was her fears and insecurity that held her back and I loved the way Huck was determined to make her feel special and wanted.

Autumn and Huck were a perfect match and I loved the snarky and humorous banter between them. Their sexy times were just that, sexy, and the chemistry between them was palpable. They both know what they want in the bedroom and weren't afraid to say it and I loved that about both of them. On the emotional side, they both went through personal growth and transformation, realising how important trust and honesty is in a relationship. They both worked out early on, that this relationship was different even though it took a while for them to accept and acknowledge that. I really enjoyed seeing how their relationship went through the ups and downs of new love and then finally seeing them put their total trust in each other.

Although Book #2 is still my favourite of this series, I would highly recommend delving into these characters stories and I cannot wait to read all about Ryder.
