The Probe Method: A Transformation of Human Consciousness

Rate this book
The Probe Method began as a problem-based learning approach using cooperative learning and technology. As the author used this method throughout his teaching career, he now sees the Probe Method as a way for us to transform our human consciousness from ego-centered to other-centered and hopefully to god-centered or full world enlightenment. The author will take you on a journey of self awakening through his eyes as a child growing up in the Appalachian mountains, a student, an idealist in the 60s and 70s, a family member, an educator, and a seeker of truth. Glenn Shepherd has been married to Sandy Shepherd since 1977. They have both been in education throughout their lives and they will share some of their conclusions about transforming our entire educational system and our world by creating a constructivist school using Montessori approach and the Probe Method. We are living in an age of tremendous potential for mankind but we have to engineer the future to ensure a positive outcome. Children are quickly addicted to computers, Smartphones, virtual reality, and a wide range of electronic entertainment systems. Are we going to let technology control us or are we going to take control of technology? We are humans, not robots. We are presently providing our children with an education meant for animals and robots. If we don’t change our educational system, we are going to reverse the evolution of the world’s human consciousness and regress to animals or become enhanced human cyborgs. The evolution of human consciousness is at stake and the world needs to awaken and heed this warning. This book presents new goals for our personal lives and our educational system. These new goals are based on freedom, love, and joy.
