What a excellent storyline with awesome storytelling!! This book was fabulously fucked up! And I loved it! I don't know what this says about me but I never enjoyed a book quite like this!! Its a dark and creepy read with great characters and dark themes! And it will pull you in kicking and screaming with not only fabulous writing but sex scenes with skeleton kings which gave a whole new meaning to getting boned!😂 And that should have made me cringe but instead made me horny!!!!I know that's real fucked up but you need to read this book to understand ! Holy! Shit! I need some holy water to cool down!! The chemistry between Mads and Isa is so fucking hot !!! And Isa really didn't stand a chance with this smug,sexy and charismatic supernatural hottie! If it had been me I would have had my panties off and legs spread after just one of his come hither looks!!!😂 The last few years in dark romance has been writers trying to not only shock you but to see how far your boundaries will go and a few very gifted ones have risen to the top with exceptional reads like this one. Just a few chapters in I knew I was in for one hell of a ride and it was!!!! The crypt King and its cast of characters are so very unique and I adored them all ! Even the secondary characters like badboy's Rafe,Brody and Jude Mads/crypt kings minions are trouble makers and total tools but I love them anyway. And the whole lovers like triangle with Mads and Ethan the hot sexy church grim was so delicious!!! Ethan is Isa's familiar and she sees him as a best friend but when someone puts a spell on her and Ethan things get hot but its just a ploy to get the crypt king to kill Isa and her brother Ronan. Their is a force close to Isa that wants revenge and they will do whatever it takes! Friends will become enemies and enemies will become lovers! But It is time for the king to claim his queen! because the crypt king is done waiting for his mate! This is a fast moving tale with twists and turns and revelations that will not only change Isa's life but those closest to her. Can't wait for more from the dream team of TL Reeve &Michele Ryan !!! Crypt King isn't what I expected. It had a unique twist to it.
The town is full of witches and even have schools and colleges for them.
They also have a lore about the Crypt King who rules over the forbidden cemetery and collects all the lingering souls. Little did the townspeople know that the Crypt King was laying the ground for his future Queen.
After the death of their parents Isa and her brother Ronan had a rough time with the townfolks and in schools.
Ethan became Isa's familiar who would never leave her side. A protector. Her best friend Keres became her regent.
Mads had tried everything to get closer to Isa but she acted as though she hated him.
With All Hallows Eves approaching unexplainable things were happening. They sensed something big was about to happen and it didn't look good.
With everyone's life on the line Isa realized who has betrayed her.
Action packed drama, mystery, suspense, betrayal, steamy scenes and a dose of humour will keep you intrigued until the end.

This one hit close to home when I read what happened to Isa. My heart went out to her. I love spooky old legends and Halloween so that's a bonus. One of my favorite tropes is enemies to lovers. I go for the cover, the type of book and type of trope. Other than that, I go in blindly because I feel I get the most out of it. I was right. It works for my and found some amazing reads such as this.

WOW JUST WOW! I'm all about the dark & twisty, and Crypt King had all of that with a kicker of creepy. I knew I needed to read it because of this dream team whose books I love separately, but they totally slayed it together, and it exceeded all my wildest expectations. I went in blindly, and so I really believe that's the best way to go so this review will be somewhat vague. I will say that the town it takes place in is for witches, and everything is built for said witches which was very original in my eyes. Then there's the Crypt king, who was supposed to be a legend, but he's very much real & collects lingering souls. Little did our heroine know, he was getting ready to make her his queen, but this is the underworld, so there's evil afoot. The twists were coming in hot, the heat was out of this world, and the supporting cast was fabulous. There are triggers in this story so please be warned before going in! I hope there's more coming from this amazing duo & HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was so damn good it was hard to put down for a minute. This is by 2 new arthur's for me and I can tell that I'm going to have to check out their other book's. I felt that Isa was a bit too trusting, but then when your a good person you want to believe the good in the people around you, but all that changes when thing's start happening around you and you realize the person you thought you could trust is not that person at all. There's just so many twists and turns in here you don't know who's behind it all, but all is revealed as it's a standalone. I can't wait to read more stories of The Restless Souls of Potters Field.

I really did not know what I was getting into with this book, but I enjoyed the heck out of it. We are in Lousiana and on the bayou. Our heroine, Isa, is 20 and raising her brother after their parents were killed in a car accident along with her best friend's father. They live in a town full of witches and attend schools that train them in their magic, spells, and other witchy things. There is the legend of the Crypt King, who lives in the graveyard and takes the souls of those who have just died. The book's core is that legend and who and what the Crypt King is. Let me insert here there are certain topics I'm not a huge reader of; not anything against them, just not my jam. Reverse harem and menages are a couple. I was hesitant to start this because of the love triangle, but the authors handled it well; it was an essential part of the story but did not dominate. However, the mystery, the excitement, and the love story between the characters were dynamic and fun to read. I finished the book surprisingly, smiling and really looking forward to what the next book might bring. Good job!

REVIEW: CRYPT KING by TL Reeve and Michele Ryan

I have had the honor of meeting Michele, and she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She is obviously wildly talented, has an amazing sense of humor, she is a beauty with a beautiful soul….and am lucky to call her friend.

Well, readers, this was quite a ride! I was messaging with these beautiful authors throughout the entire book because I couldn’t contain myself.

This amazing paranormal/fantasy suspense romance covers so many different genres of the romance world — and it was done so seamlessly, not to mention you have TWO extremely talented authors writing together. If you don’t understand how hard that is, IT IS HARD. It is hard to have two voices and styles coming together to write a story and the reader not realize there are two voices at play. This flows like an epic saga.

I chose this book by these two ladies because Michele told me there was a Skelton with a 🍆! What?!?!? So of course I was intrigued. Holy Pineapple on a 🍆!

I know pineapples can mean swingers…. LOL we have that! Skeletons can have anatomy, yup and holy hell! We have steamy sex scenes, we have blooming love, we have loyal friends, we have disloyal friends, we have family, we have fantasy with “shifters”, we have death, purgatory, witches… seriously they packed it all in and did so with an amazing eloquence that makes you believe it all……and damn I want the Crypt King to come to my dreams!

Mads and his crew are protective, loyal, tough, intelligent and intriguing. Ethan is a “puppy” that I am not sure, even as of writing this review, that I am a fan of… he still has me questioning his motives….

That right there is why I love this writing team!!!!

If fantasy/ suspense romance is not your thing, trust me, this book IS —- this is award winning writing!

Check out other books from these authors, I know I am waiting on the edge of my seat for the next book in this series - but will be reading others while i wait so impatiently!

For those who like questionable men 😂

Crypt King is one I never thought would be the way it was 😂 first a foremost, love the grims, witches, and other magical beings depicted in this book. I loved how everyone got together and the different magical beings within the group.
I enjoyed the plot, it was exciting, sad, page turning. It was well thought out and a bit different then usual. The only issue I noticed was there's no way, no matter how sheltered, that you'd just not look or pay attention to anything, question anything. (I don't want spoilers so you'll just have to read it to figure out 😂)
Now on to the relationship 😍 I'm a sucker for fated mates ❤️ so that sold me, plus the protective, almost stalker 🤤🥵 yes please. I will say, I was not ready for the description of a certain someone during smexy time 😅 it was different, it was strange, and like I'm here for it. A few nice spicy scenes through the book that add a moments break from the chaos that is their life.
All in all, I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading book 2. I do wish the brother was talked about more, his character was awesome but lacking because no real attention was paid to him 😔 hopefully more in book 2!

Goodness, I can't believe I'm the first one who didn't actually like this book. Anyway, here we go... I found that the first quarter of the book had a very interesting storyline, with a gentle build-up of the characters and a tragic family incident involving a secret yet to be uncovered. At first, it was really enjoyable to read. However, around 40% into the book, I noticed that the whole plot became painfully repetitive. It was puzzling to me why every single character had to lick their bottom lip before speaking 🫣 The repetition of events and certain moments like that felt out of place. While the plot had promise, the characters were unfortunately a little boring and predictable. Furthermore, I found myself often trying to figure out who was speaking at times, more editing is required. I'm sorry, but I have to be honest here. I couldn't wait for this book to end.

Interesting story

I absolutely loved the first chapter and I would love to find books that have that mood and writing. I know it was a ghost story being told, basically, but I'd still love to read more like that. It felt like reading something set in the Elder Scrolls universe

I wasn't mentally ready for the tone change, but I liked the story. Meeting Isa and her brother was lovely and they're relatable to me. I absolutely forgot I picked this book up during Stuff Your Kindle, so I was not prepared for the adult content (which was written ok but there's a lot of it lol).

I enjoyed the story overall. I liked the characters and they were developed pretty well. There were a fair amount of small things that a good editor could polish up, but not really enough to take away from the overall story.

I might read the next one when it comes out.

The spooky vibes of the book were great. I could picture a version of this being turned into a TV series or movie. Parts of it were cringy and a little tough to get through, and the book definitely could have used more editing. There were many typos that I couldn’t figure out what the book was supposed to say and it really slowed me down. There isn’t much character growth for anyone, they’re all pretty predictable and the plot build-up was repetitive. I think the authors could really make a fantastic book if they hammered down a solid plot and did more editing, because their writing style is great.

I bought this book at a readers event. It’s not a genre I would normally pick but I was intrigued once the authors described the storyline, skeleton romance. The book was quite erotic for my liking, but that’s no fault of the authors. I tried something different and it was not for me. I did like the characters and the story line. The book had a huge amount of grammatical errors which was a huge turnoff. A middle school student could have done a better job of proofing it. I like to support indie authors, but this book needed a competent editor to review it.

This urban fantasy dark romance centred around college aged people who acted like high schoolers in a town with basically no world building and a really poorly explored magic system. The concept was neat but writing was pretty clunky and the dialogue was tough to get through at times. It fit the Halloween spooky vibe I was looking for but missed the mark as far as the execution went

I got this has ARC for honest review.

This had me of off my feet wanted to more and more. I couldn't put this down at all. The writing is just perfect. The characters in the story are always a delight to now. With every page turn there was always some hot. There always something bad but good comes out of it at the end. It was a Rollercoaster! There nothing but steamy hot sexy love going on.
What is there not to love about this novel. Nothing but love! I cryed, falling in love, and wanted to never stop.
Love, Sexy, Hot always.
I recommend everybody to read this beautiful amazing novel. If you never read any of her books before well you missing out.
I promise you won't regret it not one but at all.
So go get your reading on!

What a great read! This had me hooked from the beginning. The sitting, theme, and the Characters had me pulled so in. Everything was well put together and it was just perfect. This novel would have you guess and thinking all the way to the end. This novel did just that to me. To the point that am wrong. When the ending comes am on shock. I wouldn't of never believe or guess. Like OMG!
Highly recommend everybody get this book and read it. Its so good!
Can't wait for her next book.
