Andrew Jackson may have dominated this era with his outsized personality, military exploits, and strong-willed vision of the nation’s presidency, but all of the stories in Volume II of Presidential Chronicles add to the rendering of this expansive period in American history, including the elevation of the nation’s first Vice President into the executive chair, and a whole new method of campaigning for national office.

Democracy Expands is part of Presidential Chronicles - Volumes, the print edition of the series in which each release includes five presidential biographies. The other released printed volumes include Volume The Founders (with biographies of George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe) and Volume The Path to National Fracture (with biographies of James Polk, Zachary Taylor, Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, and James Buchanan). Two additional volumes are planned for release in 2022.
