Mo'at and Grace travel to meet the Tawkami clan, but the presence of an avatar draws skepticism and suspicion. As time passes, the disease progresses, setting off a chain of new infections . . . with a newly susceptible group.
Corinna Bechko has been writing comics since her horror graphic novel Heathentown was published by Image/Shadowline in 2009. Since then she worked for Marvel, DC, Boom!, Image, and Dark Horse, among others, on titles such as Planet of the Apes, Star Wars: Legacy, Savage Hulk, Aliens/Vampirella, Invisible Republic, and Green Lantern: Earth One. She was recently short-listed for the Aeon Award for her prose short Sooterkin. She is a zoologist by training.
Oh gee, an issue of a comic where a character(s) travels to some kind of tribe outside of their home, and shenanigans ensue. Never seen that done before.
Also, since I have nothing else to talk about with this issue, I gotta ask: why is this series being published by Dark Horse Comics? This is a Fox franchise, and Disney owns Fox, so wouldn't it make a lot more sense to have Marvel be in charge of this series instead? I dunno, who cares... it's the Avatar comic, you really think anyone is gonna care all too much about who publishes it?
