From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts, Starlight collects two novels about the courage of the brokenhearted to take a second chance on love…

I won this book from Saint Martins Press and for some reason that made me feel obligated to finish it. Otherwise I would have quit a long time ago. Years ago, I read a lot of Nora Robert’s. And I think 20 year old me would have enjoyed this book. But older me did not. The first story, Treasure Lost, Treasure Found was very cringy. Many times Ky thought about how he was going to take what he wanted from Kate and she couldn’t stop him. We, the readers, know she was in love with him. But that’s as insider info, he didn’t know that. Makes this train of thought seem creepy, not romantic. Then, when Ky found the diamond in the shop and showed it to Kate she automatically thought he was proposing? That was… odd. Kate had a stable job, that she enjoyed. Ky sometimes took people out on fishing expeditions on his boat. Why was it that he expected her to pack up her life and come to him? He should have been more willing to pack up and support her!
I had to take a break between the two stories. The second one was not as bad. The mentions of VCRs threw me off a little until I looked up when the story was originally written. The thing that bugged me was the whole premise of the book was that Heater didn’t trust marriage. But yet she had loving parents and saw a good marriage. So the premise was shaky. Could have been fixed if it was more stressed that she wanted to protect herself instead of harping on her not wanting to get married or if she had not come from a stable family. The premise was shaky which threw the story off to me
And what is it with everyone in these stories wanting to get married after just a few dates!?!
This book made me feel like I was apart of what was going on. I’ve always loved books that Nora Roberts wrote and this was just like all the others I have read. Although with this one at first I didn’t think I would like it because sure it was hard for me to get into it but once I got into the book I couldn’t put the book down which was really hard for me. This was one of my favorite reads.
Starlight is a captivating collection of stories that beautifully depicts the courage of brokenhearted individuals who dare to embrace a second chance at love. This enthralling masterpiece introduces intriguing, well-developed characters who effortlessly draw you into their world. With a captivating storyline that grips your attention from start to finish, Starlight is a testament to the power of love and resilience.
This book is a combined republication of her books “Treasures Lost, Treasures Found” and “Local Hero.” The first novel, was a little slow for me. This is from before the time when author Nora Roberts became infallible in her creations. The second novel is a sweet simple love story, but I absolutely loved it. I recommend this book, it just requires a bit of patience.
Everything this woman does is perfect. Treasures lost, treasures found gets 4/5 and local hero 5/5, she just gas a way of sucking you into the story and its always very enjoyable
I actually read Treasures Lost, Treasures Found by Nora Roberts , but could not find a listing for it so using this one for my records. Hopefully it is better than the one I read.
Enjoyed 1st story re diving for a sunken old ship & its treasures. Previously read the 2nd story about the comic strip writer & a young boys influence on his storyline.
Like the two stories in one book. Nice surprise. Sunken ship story brought me into the story. Liked the live story Local hero fun love story. Little unrealistic but a great love story. About how a man goes for what he wants and doesn’t take no for an answer .
