Легенька і нічим не обтяжлива історія. Перші 40 відсотків було дуже нудно читати, хотілося пропускати цілі абзаци, тому що по суті нічого цікавого не відбувалося. Купа тексту про те як головна героїня проводить свої дні, що робить, куди ходить і з ким знайомиться. А оскільки це новела, хотілося, щоб більшу увагу приділяли саме стосункам, а не великим описам. Після появи головного героя ситуація покращилася. Лендон мені сподобався, цікаво було дізнатися його історію, якби його було трохи більше, було б ідеально 😅. Але найбільше мені сподобалася Беверлі і її мудрі поради.

Загалом, хоч ця історія про вампіра, але саме фентезійній і містичній складовій приділяється дуже мало уваги, сподіваюся в наступних книгах буде більше про жителів містечка і їхні особливості.

Я очікувала від книги більше розкриття теми про вампірів, але тут його не було так багато. Пару раз згадали про вампірів та відьом та й на тому усе.
Головна героїня - як їй не повезло з попередніми стосунками, це просто жахливо 😢
О, і я чекала, що вона щось наважиться змінити в своєму житті, так і сталось переїзд у нове місце дало їй шанс знайти кохання 🧡 свого життя, хоча Лендон і вампір 🧛

взагалі не сподобалося. дуже нудно, навіть затягнуто, хоч історія і сама по собі маленька. до половини взагалі події ніяк не розвивалися. я насилу прочитала за місяць. з перервами та вперемішку з іншими книжками, аби не потрапити в нечитун.

по сюжету навіть немає що додати, все наскільки ніяк. її познайомили з чоловіком, а потім шок – він вампір. трішки описали її емоції, ще кілька сторінок і в них уже все гаразд.

Mystic Cove

Julia had just gone through a devastating break-up, but starting a new job in the quaint village of Mystic Cove helped. Julia made friends, but always felt like she was an outsider and everyone else knew a secret.

Needless to say, by the title you can see the supernatural elements to this romance. It was well written, but short on plot. Still worth a three star review.

I had high hopes for this bc I thought the series idea was cute and was let down.

The storyline had potential it was really the execution that was bad. She moved there and the way they talked and acted should have been a dead giveaway to what was going on, and also it shouldn’t have been happening lol. These people knew a human was amongst them and had been alive and in this type of situation plenty yet still “accidentally” talked about supernatural stuff in front of her.

I also hate when they make vampires who live like they’re young talk like they’re 500 years old. Obviously, they would’ve learned over the years to adapt or no one would want to be near them.

Anyway eventually she does find out after being a clueless Cathy and she breaks up with the guy for weeks (far longer than their 2 date relationship.) but suddenly he can’t live without her and that was the hardest 2 weeks of his life. Like dude you didn’t even know her for 2 weeks before that, calm down.

I Iiked this quirky paranormal story about Julia finding her soul mate with a vampire. Julia apes for a full time teacher position on a small town called Mystic Cove. She wanted a fresh start and fell in love with the strange place.She gets set up on blind date with Langdon.
Mel Heflin is the narrator and she did a fabulous job.

Julia meets some locals and is set up on a date with a local man, Landon. He is everything she could dream of, yet there is something odd about his eyes. On the second date with Landon, his secret tumbles out and Julia needs to figure things out. Does she love him enough to move forward with this relationship? Or was this all a sick game played by her so-called friends?

Could she be his mate? On the first date, Landon is struck by her beauty and he scent. He's drawn to her. Is she attracted to him? After the first date, there is a second date at his art gallery. Landon is hopeful. The night of the gallery auction his secrets tumble out. Julia runs from him. Can he explain? Will she understand? Can there be a HEA?

This is a sweet romance, between Landon and Julia. They both have secrets. Obviously, Landon needs to keep his secrets close to his chest - might scare a girl off too quickly!! I enjoyed the writing style in this book and the characters. Mystic Cove is a great place and I can't wait to travel there again!!

I’m not much into fantasy or romance so I’m not sure why I picked this title. Looking for a quick Halloween vibe read and it came through as such. The story was cute and quirky. Not big into sweaty sex, corny romance, or nightmarish terror scenes and I experienced none of these. I liked the set up of the story. Broken hearted by the two closest people in her big city life, moves from the every day reminders into a quaint, ocean view village with her dream job into her dream home and meets her dream man…. Or is he? Yeah, it’s cute. Probably won’t stay with me long, but I’ll probably read more of this series.

Cute funny paranormal romance. It was quick read and a great pallette cleanser.
I kinda did not like how the MMC was introduced so later like at some point i thought it was lgbtq+ and the love interst was Rachel then i thought it was West. And i really wanted to see what Julia told her family about her new avater. I crossed my fingers for Julia's ex and ex bff to see how happy she was and how everyone treated her. Nonetheless it was great.

My Blind Date is a Vampire promised an intriguing supernatural romance story, but unfortunately, the protagonist, Julia, was quite frustrating. Her overreactions to every situation and tendency to make impulsive decisions made me lose my patience several times.
However, it wasn't all negative. Beverly, the coven's leader witch, was a supporting character who stole the show. Her loyalty, humour, and insight made her my favourite. Landon, the vampire, had great potential, but his relationship with Julia failed to fully convince me. Their interactions lacked the chemistry I hoped for and sometimes felt forced.
While engaging at times, the plot was overshadowed by my issues with the main characters. The supernatural world presented in the novel was promising, but it needed to be fully explored.
Compared to other supernatural romance novels I've read, "My Blind Date is a Vampire" fell short in character development and plot depth. Despite some highlights, I can't say it's a read I recommend.

I really liked this book! Landon and Julia are great together and I really liked that you could feel that even though the book is basically single POV. There are 2 or 3 chapters (I didn't outright count but I believe it's 2) that are in Landon's POV. I felt that those moments were important to have his POV on as well and I am thankful for them. They really cleared up the feelings.

I will say the thing that I did not like about this book was Julia's mom. She rubbed me the wrong way. It seemed like she just didn't care about Julia's feelings. Not cool bro. I think that Julia's actions were justified throughout the entire book. I don't think she reacted poorly to any of the bad/serious situations that were thrown her way. Her mom kind of made it seem like her feelings didn't matter and that her brothers and their families were more important than her. Like I said, just rubbed me the wrong way. Her brother Bas rubbed me the wrong way too. I get brothers being hard on sisters and what not but he was a jerk to her. I guess we all have that 1 sibling and/or cousin that is crap.

All that said, I really did enjoy this book. I liked most of the side characters a lot and I thought that the dynamic of Mystic Cove was super interesting! I liked that a lot of the myths surrounding sups weren't applied here (like vamps hating sunlight or, dare I say, sparkling...eww). Landon walks around like a normal person at all hours of the day, just has some super strength and speed and likes blood. Nothing too terrible to be honest.

I look forward to the other books in this series. The next one is "My Blind Date is a Warlock." Warlocks are talked about as being rare and very powerful in this book so I am interested to read the story and learn more about the sups of this world. The author did a great job putting a lot of detail into a shorter read. A lot of books with this length lack substance but this book had an interesting sub-plot!

My Blind Date is a Vampire, it's a fun, quirky and clean paranormal romance for all readers! It is the first book in the Love is Blind series, but each book can be read independently. (BUT LET ME TELL YOU PLEASE READ ALL THE BOOKS PLEASE CAUSE I LOVED IT).

Julia takes a job far away from home in the little town name Mystic Cove. She has no interest in dating, at least for a while after being heartbroken and feeling betrayed by her one and only bestfriend.

She finally feeling Mystic Cove as home and making new friends and also met with Beverly, the eccentric old lady who owns the local bookstore.

Bev set Julia up for a blind date with Landon and Julia finally agrees to go one on one with Landon. She's surprised when things with her enigmatic blind date go so well. And she fell head over heels for him in a matter of few days.

But will she face even more heartbreak when she finds out her blind date is a vampire?

You will find unconventional characters, tongue in cheek humor, and a lot of emotional drama in this tale. Although this story has some pretty heavy moments woven throughout, for the most part, it is light and entertaining

This book was fine… might’ve been good… but it had MAJOR pacing problems, and just general… I don’t know, distribution of stuff problems?

For example: the beginning of the book spends SO much time establishing the fmc and her family, really getting in to how she’s trying to become her own person, break out on her own, yadda yadda. There’s mention of a messy ex-boyfriend, crazy brothers, etc. that’s all fine and good, but despite spending a long ass time establishing all this, it really never comes back up (except for a brief moment with her mom later). We never see her mention or even think about her family or her independence or her messy past again.

Then, we do the thing which I HATE, which is where we fast-forward through seeing the actual relationship development and somehow skip from them being flirty acquaintances to in an actual relationship, therefore robbing me of any chance I had of really connecting with the characters.

THEN, we have the sort-of climax which very much felt like the beginning of a bigger plot arc- that is, it did, until the book almost immediately ended. I mean, we had the “climax,” a few pages of them being apart, then a reunion void of any challenge or intrigue before BOOM the book ends. I swear, she only knew he was a vampire for like ten pages…

I’ll give this book the benefit of the doubt as being the first in a series, but I can’t say I’ll find out if things are developed more in the next book because I don’t really plan on picking it up. Sad, because I actually thought this was pretty well-written!

Mystic Cove for the Win!

My thanks to Writer Daphne Bloom for making the Love is Blind series available through Kindle Unlimited. I came across book three and read it first. I am continuing to thoroughly enjoy Mystic Cove, its people, and their challenges. Although I am reading this series the first time through with Kindle Unlimited, Writer Bloom is on my limited "definite buys" list.

Why buy? #1 is the people in these books are so very real. It's character development at its best. #2 is there is no erotica taking pages away from the story, events, and people of the book. That's rare and much appreciated. Sex might sell, but the satisfaction of good book settles into the heart. #3 I love small town series where you get to know people and that enjoyment multiplies with paranormal abilities, challenges, and the creativity of the world building needed.

Daphne Bloom is a writer whose skill at world building draws me in at the same time her skill at creating real people does the same. The plots here may not be deeply complex, but I'm here to be in Mystic Cove and get to know these people and how they deal with their unique challenges. Yes, it's a paranormal romance, but it's also another genre I call a "people story." And it's the people that hold these stories together and allow the paranormal elements to shine.

This book was absolutely wonderful! It’s catchy from the beginning and it made me love Mystic Cove so much that I went ahead and bought all the books in the series the minute I finished this one! Each book can be read as a standalone, but there are recurrent characters throughout the series.

The characters are so quirky! I was invested in the story from the beginning. It’s very well-written and the characters are complex, with believable and logical backstories, actions and reasons for doing what they do.

My favourite is Beverly and her bookshop – I want to live in that bookshop! I found that in this genre, conflicts get resolved over more books so it becomes frustrating to read just one book in the series even if it can be read as a standalone. However, this book (and all the others in the Blind Date series) are truly self-sufficient within each book – you’re not left with any unresolved conflicts, which is important for readers like me who get completely sucked into the book.

I recommend this to anyone who likes a good love story, written so well that you’re left half expecting something similar to happen to you at any moment and that you feel like you’re friends with the characters already.

I feel bad for Julia who finds her fiancé in bed with her best friend, and when she learns that those two backstabbers are getting married she leaves town. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I couldn’t put this book down until I finished reading it. I love that Julia and Landon have an HEA where they are married and bonded. And eventually Julia comes to the decision on becoming a vampire so that she will get to spend forever with Landon. I would strongly suggest this book to other readers. This is the first book by author Daphne Bloom and I absolutely love the book and I’m looking forward to reading more books written by this author.

Julia is suffering from a serious case of heartbreak and betrayal after finding her fiancé and bff in bed together and now a year later seeing their wedding splashed all over the internet. Back home with her parents she’s searching for a job and new place to escape the somewhat smothering love of parents and three older brothers. When she gets a job in picturesque Mystic Cove she’s elated. New start in a quirky small town with a past that appeals to the history geek that she is. Enter tall dark and dangerous Landon. Vampire, art gallery owner, wealthy, urban, handsome everything a girl could ask for. The only problem Julia isn’t in on the paranormal secret.
This is a sweet romance a bit sappy but in a good way. At times a bit overly descriptive or wordy. The inevitable blow up when the secret is out is not unexpected, I liked the way that the conflict was resolved. My only mini complaint is that though this is a kind of insta love/fated mates romance the build up is well done but then we go from forgiveness to hea in a blink. I would’ve enjoyed a little more evenly dispersed details on the relationship.

What a sweet read! I love paranormal cozies and I'm just getting into reading the occasional paranormal romance I am NOT a fan of "sexy" romances - nothing graphic for me, please! This book had a good foundation of world-building, the first of the Love Is Blind series. I like series that build on each other. This one says each book in the series can be read alone so I'm not sure yet how much they will build on each other and the world will be more thoroughly revealed, but this was a good and solid start. I will definitely read more in the series.

I love how Julia comes to be in Mystic Cove and her awe of the new town in which she finds herself. Her backstory is edgy enough to push her to change but not so much that the book feels like the usual trope of a truly broken woman finally finding her personal heroism. She's mad, hurt... all rightfully... but is willing to take a chance in a new direction. I love the undercurrent of a strong family too. And she's a redhead! What?! I haven't read a lot of books with the main character being a redhead. All in all a fun romance in a world rife with entertaining possibilities for the future installments of the series.

• 💀 ну, і класичний владний чоловік зі своїм «ти моя і тільки моя», не дай боже хтось подивиться на твою партнерку. Лендон не хоче розповідати правду про себе, але й залишати Джулію він теж не поспішає. і що найдивніше – Джулії чомусь окей із цим. авторка взагалі не прописала, чому Джулії раптом стало байдуже на «страшну правду» Лендона. “love is blind”? можливо, тому. але як тільки вона дізнається правду, що Лендон – вампір, то одразу ж блокує його номер. гаразд, відчиніть вікно, стало надто душно, чого я очікувала від “clean romance”.

Julia has a really rough time after she stumbles across her now former best friend in her bed with her now former fiancé. And the echoes when photos are posted online from the wedding and honeymoon- it is always heart wrenching to ready supportive comments from folks you once thought were your friends - all sweet and whatever about the newlyweds.

friends make choices when there is a breakup. in my experience, if they are couple friends, they usually choose the new couple, no matter the how or why of your break.

Julia finds a new job, teaching in Mystic Cove. Here is a chance for a fresh start.

Discovering that her new beau has some pretty big secrets of his own - the feelings of betrayal might be bigger than most secrets.

Are those feelings bigger than these secrets? Can Julia move on and embrace her new town? new romance?

There is a whole new world she is only beginning to discover- very sad or very exciting times could lie ahead

humorous, insightful and bittersweet romance adventures.

Mystic Cove is just what she needs to heal her heart - a small town with friendly faces everywhere. Getting set up in her first week by local matchmaker Bev is mind-boggling.

Landon is every woman's dream - tall, handsome, nice, and rich as Croesus. A real gentleman. But he's got a little secret that only the townies know. How will he break the news to his newfound mate that he's living impaired?

A great series introduction and a precursor to the fun times to be enjoyed in Mystic Cove. I have read a couple of the other books (Werewolf and Zombie) and am glad I circled back to the beginning. Good romance with all the feels but none of the naughty details.

What an awesome read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a great romance with a sexy vampire hero & a strong heroine.
Whilst nursing a broken heart Julia moves to Mystic Cove for a new teaching job & is set up on a blind date with Landon.
What follows is learning curve for Julia as she realises there is more than meets the eye with Landon & with the townsfolk. At their first date the attraction is palpable & the sparks fly. How long can the attraction be denied before it erupts?
Will learning Landon's secret destroy what relationship they have built or will they get their HEA?
First time reading this author & I look forward to reading more.

Julia had her heart broken when she was betrayed in the worst way by her fiancé cheating on her with her alleged “best friend”. Julia gets a job in Mystic Cove and is ready for a new start. Beverly, a matchmaking witch, sends her on a blind date with handsome Landon. But Julia isn’t aware of the paranormals living in her town. Her date with Landon is perfect. He is a dream come true. But will it all come to a crashing end when she finds out he is a vampire?

I loved this story line. The characters made me cheer for their happy ending, and fret whether Julia would be able to overlook what he is. One little flaw shouldn’t ruin the entire relationship, right? Grab your copy and see if Julia walks away or whether she will stick around and see if he’s worth a second date.

Loved the main characters also the supporting characters were very well written too.

She makes new freinds and she is set up on a blind date by one of her new freinds in town which she very reluctantly agrees to.
She is very surprised by her blind date and instantly falls for him.The feeling is mutual.

Nechápu, že tahle blbina má tak vysoké hodnocení. Čekala jsem od toho příjemnou, vtipnou, romantickou oddechovku. Dostala jsem k uzoufání nudnou, předvídatelnou přehlídku těch nejotravnějších klišé, navíc ještě s naivní a hloupou hrdinkou, která by nepoznala upíra, ani kdyby na ni vycenil zuby. Od začátku víte, o čem kniha bude, vzhledem k jejímu názvu. Ale hlavní hrdinka se o tom, že chodí s upírem, dozví až skoro na konci. Přestože jeho oči několikrát změnily barvu, jeho zranění se zázračně zacelilo a jeho červené "víno" bylo hustší, než by mělo být. Čím to všechno asi bude? Jeden by řekl, že když je to tak krátké, budu to mít aspoň rychle přečtené, ale musela jsem se hrozně nutit. Stejně jsem nedočetla, strašně mi to lezlo na nervy tou otřepaností a nehoráznou předvídatelností. Proč proboha někdo píše něco, co už tu bylo milionkrát? (Stmívání, Upíří deníky atd.)
