As the daughter of the Alpha, Jessica was raised believing she was fully human. Her adoptive mother rescued her from a burning building and they've kept her safe ever since. She loves her family, but she is not a shifter. Something the other kids her age never let her forget. Not long after she goes off to school, wanting to experience a human life, she realizes everything she has known was wrong. Jake has known for years that his fated mate, the one female he has longed for his whole life, died when they were pups. That is what his mother told him anyway. So why does his sister's new roommate, a human, call to his wolf the way only a fated mate can?
I really enjoyed this book. It helped me get into a different mindset and gave me a nice break from all my smut reading. I really enjoyed the lost lovers trope that was in this book. It was a long read but a good read. I finished this book in less than a day and I’m so glad I took a chance on this author.
Jessica was born to an Alpha, but she's reduced from a burning building and told she's human. Nobody let's her forget this, and she thinks she has no mate like them or powers. Until Jake meets her. He thinks his mate is already long dead, but you'll have to read to see what happens. Great story.
