When the going gets tough, you find out who your friends really are...
Laura Fanning has talent to burn, a brand-new jewellery design company and a wonderful husband. Nicola Peters has independence, a job she loves and her own home. Helen Jackson has a killer wardrobe, a thriving career and a lively and engaging daughter.
But all is not as it seems. Laura's struggling to live up to her parents' impossible expectations, Nicola is coping with a life-changing event, Helen's worried that her maternal instinct has gone AWOL - and trying to cope with their problems alone is driving the three friends apart just when they need each other most.
Then into the mix comes Chloe Fallon. She's marrying gorgeous Dan Hunt and planning the wedding of the year, but little does she realise how much chaos her wedding preparations are about to cause...

And I was greatly disappointed. The authors writing is fine but the storyline itself was awful. Just a bunch of bad relationships and horrible people. This is not a romance at all. It's total chick lit and unfortunately that is just not my genre. I gave it a shot. Very depressing.
Deliberately misleading, it's a bit frustrating because you know something isn't ringing right, but the author steers you in a certain direction and then leaves you hanging. So that she can later reveal what really happened and then you are left there supposedly realising that / Oh it wasn't what I thought. i don't think she pulled it off.
I love the twist, turns and surprises in these books but I thought I was reading one particular Author in a binge read to distract myself from my husband having a large portion of his foot amputated after all the other surprises since he retired like his kidneys failing and the freak death of my 47 year SIL (and helping my daughter deal with her grief and then 2_weeks ago I lost my previous cousin whose 2 young grandchildren may not even remember her some day to her youngest daughter expecting her first child and my sweet cousin won't be here to see it (she was more like my baby sister than a cousin and for a girl who grew up in a household of brother's - this latest tragedy in my life - I needed the Melissa Hill books I thought I had been reading. Yes, I caught glimpses of her style in this book but I didn't relate to the characters like I normally do. With so little joy in my life - books are my escape right now and when I commit to a series, I expect the same Author to be featured (her writing style) exclusively. Being preoccupied part of this I am to blame for but in all honesty this book just dud not ring true for me and the ending left my just confused and disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the writing skill was there but I need constant "feel good books" right now to help me keep my head above water. This book disappointed me. I gave only 1 other book in this series this mediocre of a score and its because it too left me feeling a !little cheated in the ending. However 5 out of 7 books made me happy so I can say I recommend them but don't expect them all to leave you happy and I put a huge burden on this series - my frame of mind was counting on these books for escape from what is going on in my life. Had I bothered to read the intro's to the books before just m
Sometimes we just don't discuss our past relationships in full, but when you leave out a big reason for the demise it can come back to haunt you. Three friends dealing with their current lives intersect with the past. Each individual story can sometimes be hard to take, but life isn't always pretty and family relationships can be rough. A twist toward the end is a big one, you won't see coming! The ending is a real question...will she??
I received a complimentary copy of this book, all opinions are my own.
3.5 I liked it. It was not what I expected. I thought it may have been about mainly the couple who was getting married and more specifically the ex girlfriend how she found out. But it was like a story of 4 couples. The ex Dan who was getting married and Nicola who he was once married to plus Nicola's 2 best friends. It had twist and turns right up to the end. And I was left hanging in that the day Dan got married, his soon to be wife was having 2nd thoughts so it ended when they were around to start the wedding. I kinda had doubles that she was 100% into it.
I didn't love this one, but did finish it. It's not horrible. It's just a bit boring. I did hate the character Helen. Really had hard time understanding why they remained friends with her. I suppose she changed, but it was so glossed over it didn't feel like it.
Not sure about this book ! So many characters. Took me till half way through to figure out who was coupled with who and why they were together. Book really had no central character, and bouncing back and forth between their storylines made reading this an effort. Not Melissa Hill's best effort. I so enjoyed some of her other books, that this one really disappointed.
I almost didn't finish this book as I thought it was a bit boring and a few of the characters were so annoying. More than half way through, the story came alive and everything made sense. You'll find out what makes the people who they are. So many surprises, but I can't give any spoilers. I definitely recommend this book. The ending was a bit hanging.
I really enjoyed this book as I have some wonderful and empowering friendships that have also been tested in the past so for me this was a beautifully written book.
I loved the little twists and turns the author did and that it truly captured the strong foundations which is friendship.
A wonderful read and I look forward to reading more of her titles
I chose this because I I have enjoyed beach books often but this fell short of holding my interest. It was very hard to keep my interest even in the first few chapters.
I enjoyed This book and the characters and their flaws especially Helen and Laura who don't feel good enough! The little twist about Nicola at the end was good. Enjoyed reading as my first holiday book!
The characters were interesting and believable. The story took several turns. This author does a nice job of surprising the reader. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
There were so many mistakes that the editor needs to be replaced. Words were missing and the grammar was poor. The story didn’t flow well. And it ended abruptly.
It was boring at the beginning but as I continue reading it didn't disappoint me with the scenarios.. I wanted Katie to wake up and give her daughter the love and attention instead of focusing to her loneliness. I'm so appalled to find out the truth with Robin and Olivia's two-timing and no conscience husband Peter. The story seems like there was no closure.
