This is the book that I finally finished. I don’t think I’ve finished a book in my adult life, and this finally did it for me. I related to the character so much, which helped me get into it, but by halfway through, I couldn’t stop thinking about it and just had to finish it. The small chapters helped this novice reader pace myself, and her casual tone also helped. Thank you Janette for sharing your story.

I listened to the audiobook version, which was an even bigger treat, as I was able to hear this book in the author's voice. This is a great addition to a wonderful genre of memoirs focusing on family and trauma. I wasn't aware of the author's work on Disney but found the story, writing, and message of this book extremely memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great memoir, but also for those with challenging relationships with food or family.

I love the way she tries to cut everything with comedy. I understand this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I find it more relatable this way. Defense mechanisms aside, she has a great way of making it make sense. Great listen, audible was great for this one. 10/10.

I finished this book in one sitting and I thought it was absolutely powerful. I liked how honest and bold she was with her descriptions on the mental health issues that come with an eating disorder primarily since I could resonate with those feelings. She is a powerful author.

Somehow I thought this book would be different than a tell all. Seemed like it might be part of her healing process. I hope it helped.
