I think Brynn is just learning what she is capable of in her fight to banish ghosts and wraiths and even ghouls! An interior designer dedicated to restoring old houses to their former glory, she can see ghosts and communicate with her cat companion who is more than he seems. Can’t wait for that explanation! Love all the characters and friends that surround and there is always a mystery to solve. Great writing but there were quite a few mistakes in this one with words missing sometimes but not bad enough to keep the story from being interesting. Think she may need a good proofreader and I would certainly volunteer for the job to get early access to the next story! LOL!
Brynn can see and talk to ghosts. Sometimes this gets a bit scary but her cat Bernie helps. This garage was creeping everyone out. Brynn and her boyfriend, along with Bernie, were able to sort it out. Looking forward to reading the next one.

This was another good cozy mystery in the Soul Seeker series. This one continues with the Ghoul they stirred up in the garage from the last book. Tabby the granddaughter of the ghost she helped crossover in Fright in the Family Room comes to see the home of her grandparents that Brynn is working on and wants to help them banish the ghoul and enjoy the harvest festival. Tabby and Sophie become good friends and I hope Tabby makes an appearance in future books. It was another fun read, only a few more left in the series now. I hope Courtney McFarlin keeps writing!
I started reading Courtney McFarlin’s books and just finished the 8th book. Fully enjoying the characters and the all-knowing, wonderful cat. I have been rationing the books to spread the joy of reading them. If not, I would devour them in one sitting to the peril of everything else.
This book finishes up the mystery from the previous book (#7 in the series). A few moments of more tension/evil than usual but the team approach conquers the villain. Good news may be in store for Zane to get closer to Bernie. A few new friends are added to the mix that could help a lot in future investigations.
With this series, you need to read the books in order. This is really Part 2 of the previous book, The Fright in the Family Room. The combined story introduced some interesting new characters. I hope they'll stick around. I also hope Brynn will return to that remote cemetery. I want to know about the Native American Ghost she encountered there.
Wonderful cast of characters, awesome stories and full of heart! Wonderful to see the progression of Brynn's talents and Bernie is a kickass companion with the grounding of Zane's love 💜
I could not put this down. Do not read on a work or school night. I stayed up reading it because it was so exciting! Love the characters. The twists were great. The research awesome.
As usual, the storyline is awesome. However, in this book and the ones before it are poorly edited. If you read this, I'm happy to volunteer to do it. Lots of time on my hands and adore reading! Jo Zapata.
I liked the story but the typos got to be a bit much. A proofreader who knows that plurals don't take apostrophes and who is aware of words that get mixed up would be helpful.
