Prince Roland was on the verge of winning the war.
Assigned to New Doncaster to train the planet’s armies and lead them into battle, Roland brokered a political compromise that allowed the government to win hearts and minds once the rebels were defeated in the field, then built a formidable military machine that could – and did – push the rebels to the brink of defeat. But Roland’s success bred hatred and his enemies, seeing him and his loyal troops out on a limb, launched a coup and left Roland stranded deep in enemy territory.
Roland isn’t one to give up. But, with a government preparing to use desperate measures to obliterate the rebels on one side and a crude alliance of suspicious rebel factions on the other, he must act fact to save the planet...
Belinda more than did her job. In addition to evacuating the last scion of the Eternal Emperor, she taught him what it meant to be a leader. In this book, Nuttal demonstrates what a talented, albeit inexperienced, leader, with yet another mentor close at hand, can accomplish even after betrayal. It continues the saga of Roland, dethroned ruler of the known galaxy.
It's great to see Prince Roland maturing into a good leader and warrior. I hope to see path finder Rachel working with Roland in the future. I really like the way Chris weaves current events into his story lines. His afterwards are always insightful.
Another excellent book in the Empire Corps series. I like the way Christopher moves the series around to different places and characters, while using the base theme of the Empire Corps platform. The books never get stale, yet give you a continuity of experience. Thank you sir
I really do enjoy the way Mr. Nuttall brings together current events into science fiction. It makes the stories relatable, while building complexity into the storyline. Good work.
Characters are colorful and realistic in a real world way. These books do not need you to read earlier books but recommend for understanding the history of the Empire. I really enjoyed the books easy to read and hard to stop reading. Highly recommended reads.
Book 21 of the Empires Corps series. The author is taking the story in an interesting direction with the Childe Roland. If you are into sci Fi space opera stories this series is worth the time.
The end of an excellent series. I have enjoyed reading all 21 books and would rate The Empire's Corps very highly. At times I did feel, especially in a few of the books in the middle of the series, that it might have been better if there were somewhat fewer books in the series. In this book and the one preceding it, I missed the characters and story about Col. Stalker and the Commonwealth which were only tangentially mentioned in this book. The best books in the series (as in many series) were the first ones and the last ones. Definitely recommend.
