Liam:
Aspen Bluffs seemed like the perfect place to retire from the rodeo after an injury. Nice and quiet little town. Boy are looks deceiving because these people are driving me crazy!
A storm one night drops a beautiful stranger into my lap. She's hurt so I can't leave her where I find her. Which is what I should have done. Strangely, I don't want to. The overpowering urge to keep her and make her mine, see her glowing and round with my babies wells up in me, overwhelming my common sense. I want her. I need her.
And I intend to do whatever it takes to keep her.

Candy Lane:
Waking up after a horrifying storm, I open my eyes to find an older, sexy stranger looming over me. His heated stare and rough manners should terrify me. Instead I feel strangely drawn to him.
He makes me an offer I can't refuse. The home and family I've been longing for. Just a business deal. Or so I think.
But when he pulls me into his muscular arms and kisses me wildly? No way is he all business!

This August, sixteen of your favorite romance authors are joining forces to bring you stories all about making babies. Whether it's a primal, biological need or something else driving these men to breed the women they love, what is guaranteed is these stories are going to be hot and messy. Every happily ever after doesn't have to have babies, but these men want nothing less than their women round and glowing.

Candy & Liam

Urgh, no. This wasn’t good.
First of all … he finds her, with blood streaming from her head and thinks about making her his?
Sure he calls the doctor / police but when a doctor a nurse and the police are in his house URGING him to let her go to the hospital to make 100% sure that she’s okay — he denies it. So much for love and care, huh?

He should have insisted that she got brought to the hospital and then stay at her bed for most of the time.
That wouldn’t have changed anything for the story anyway because the next few pages they are just sitting next to each other and talking (not on page btw, we just got told what they talked about but okay). WHY THE HELL, would you risk the chance of your insta-love woman being seriously hurt?!

Liam has a serious temper - at least that’s what we get told - yet everyone is okay with letting him marry a girl he just knew for a damn week?
Sorry a man with a temper is capable of DV - the people of the town don’t know that he doesn’t have one around her. How should they know? They don’t. And I certainly would, at least, want to talk to that girl before I officiate the wedding. Seriously.

Oh god and the things he thought were disgusting. He even said so. “I know dogs pee on their territory, Cats too. If I could figure out how to do it without being thoroughly disgusting, I would.”
Ew man. Shut up. Shut even your thoughts up.

Somehow I kind of got some purity culture vibes of this book … it’s not explicitly stated you should wait for marriage … but he basically turns her on to prove that she wants him, she agrees to marriage and babies … only for him to turn cold, leave her hanging and run out of the room to tell her she could wait another week until they were married. HUH?!
Why tho? Doesn’t make sense if it’s not purity culture. I’m not here for it, I’m not sorry.

Then his “friends” come round for the wedding (that they heard of through the grapevine apparently?) … Liam says he doesn’t have friends, yet they all come to help him and Candy on their big day.
And while they are there Liam helped a pregnant woman into a chair and her husband then threatened violence upon Liam. Because he touched her ankles. What?

The ceremony is told and not shown to us. It has the emotional impact of brushing dust off your clothes.
Candy is then sent into her room to change for him.
I thought he was this horny and couldn’t wait for her?! And then he doesn’t even help her out of her wedding dress? Yeah right.

And then they do have sex and … yeah it’s not good.
I didn’t like the scenes and usually I am here for the smut.

But then there are descriptions like this:
“His tongue slips inside my mouth and the muscle dances along my cheek, my teeth, finally mating with my tongue” — So … he licked her teeth?! And her cheek? Inside her mouth? Is that what this means? Dude you’re seriously weird.

The “3rd act” conflict of this book is Candy pulling away from him, leaving the bed in the middle of the night … because Liam can’t find out she’s pregnant because then he wouldn’t wanna touch her anymore??
Girl you gotta give me time to warm up for that kind of mental gymnastics but okay. Also what is your endgame there? One of these days he will find out you’re carrying a watermelon around — he’s an idiot but not blind, girl.
Candy then drives over to his friends-not-friends for girl talk, crying because Liam doesn’t love her. Liam comes storming into the room (how he knows where to find her and that quickly … ah the book doesn’t care. We don’t find out. Okay) and says that he does love her. Drives her home. The end.

Do we get an epilogue?
Oh. Yes yes. A BIRTHING EPILOGUE.
Once again, RIP to the people with a breeding kink but a birthing phobia because bitch that’s me and once I saw were the epilogue was headed I skipped it entirely because NO. JUST NO.
Whyyyy can’t I enjoy my breeding kink in peace 😭

The second epilogue shows them with 5 kids and a 6th on the way? Praise her vajayjay because damn that snatch is working overtime there 😳

By the way, this might be trivial, but we don’t have anything in the novella about what happened to her car that was crashed by the tree - or the tree itself whatsoever. Not that the tree is necessarily important. But usually in less ridiculous stories you at least have a storyline where he gets the tree off of the car, let’s her fetch her things, and brings it to a mechanic / a place for disposal.
But we only get told (not shown) that Liam tells her to use his newer truck (that he bought but never uses because he liked his old truck more? What? Why did you buy it then? I don’t get it) and doesn’t even mention her old car? Her belongings? Nothing?
We get told that she has no family bc she was in the foster system … but she should have a home right? A job. Obligations in general. They never went and got her things. They never mentioned ANYTHING that had to do with wrapping up her old life. And it could literally have been a paragraph, too, because everything else was told and not shown in this novella. Why not this?
She just dropped there and stayed. Okay then. 😐

Yeah. This wasn’t my cup of tea.
It just wasn’t. I wanted to DNF this several times even tho the novella is so short.

COWBOY BRED

HERO /HEROINE:
Liam is a retired rodeo rider, and is spending his days on his ranch.

Candy grew up in Foster care and has a hard time trusting people. No it when it comes to dick though ig.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
This one rubbed me the wrong way.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
I'm starting to get sick and tired of, “the stranger's voice is so growly/sexy and now I'm horny. WHAT?? That's not like me at all!” Literally they both had that reaction to hearing each other talk for the first time. It's annoying as hell.

Also, this couple was cartoony. I haven't read anything else by this author, but it's giving preteen behavior, extremely dramatic reactions. And not a lot of grown up thinking

They both refused at the idea of Candy going to the hospital, even though she totaled her vehicles in a head-on collision with a fallen tree. She was bleeding from the head and passed out for hours. She was in and out of consciousness and had a major sensitivity to light. She had the least concussion, not to mention bruises on her body that would be from her crashing and the airbag failing to deploy. But because they're both horny, they decide she can't leave. 🙄 Give me a break.

From then on it's just ott alpha shit and sobbing FMC that can't admit her feelings to him and gets married anyway? This was written like a horror movie. Up until her wedding day she was having second thoughts about how genuine this relationship could be, but then, you know, horny, so I'm gonna marry him anyway. Just complete bs.

HEA
Standalone - interconnected theme series by different authors with interconnected characters in those authors' other books
Insta-love, age-gap

Trigger warnings
Foster care

Liam comes across a tree the storm felled on a car with a woman inside. Candy wakes up to him arguing about the doctor taking her to the hospital. He doesn't want her to leave. She doesn't want to leave, she just wishes she could stay forever. He wants forever, but how will he convince her of that?

Ultra-possessive male characters works in books, but not so much irl. Especially the way he wants to "dress her like a doll". That's probably one of my least favorite phrases ever written, but it does make you understand what it is trying to say.

I am really loving the Baby Breeder series. When I saw that Tamrin Banks had a new book, I had to read Cowboy Bred.

Let me tell you; this book did not disappoint at all. It's about Liam and Candy; it's insta-love grumpy sunshine, and Liam can't wait to breed Candy.

This is a quick and steamy read, and I can't wait to read more of this series.

I love these Baby Breeder stories. This time we have Liam, grumpy and retired from the rodeo. He’s missing something from his life. Bam. A car accident brings Candy into his life. He needs her, he wants her, and she will be his. A great storyline and characters. I love these Instalove stories and add the desire to have babies and it’s a bit. I would definitely recommend book and the series.

Candy and Liam

I absolutely loved this one! Liam was such a wonderful guy and Candy was meant for him. The two of them made an awesome couple. Their epilogues were perfect! Seeing sneak peeks of my other favorite couples was great too!

Liam was missing something.

He wasn't exactly what but he felt empty. That changed when he sees the gorgeous car accident victim. She is HIS!! Candy has never known love but can she believe Liam actually could live her??

Another awesome story!

I loved these two more than anything! Nothing like a fantasy come true in the best sort of way. This series is full of all the love and babies and I’m here for it.

cute Instalove novella!

A car crash leads to a whorl wind romance. A week of knowing each other to full blown marriage is CRAZY but it’s fun to read about! 😅
