Eloping with the love of my life isn't as easy as finding an Elvis chapel on the Vegas strip. Demons from my wife's past come back to haunt us before the honeymoon can even start. We have to get through all the secrets and lies to reach our happily ever after. Welcome to Paradise NV, home of the MorningStar MC.
I'm a retired 45-year-old Puerto Rican wife and mother of 3 plus 1 bonus daughter. Originally from NYC, now living a quiet life in the south suburbs of Chicago. I enjoy reading and writing romance and erotic fiction. I'm addicted to coffee, sci-fi, and all things Marvel and Harry Potter.
I was a teen mom with a whole world of statistics against me. Every time I was told I couldn't do something, I did it, took pictures, and smiled with my son on my hip for everyone who ever doubted me.
Now, after finding the love of my life in my thirties, we married in the great 2020 pandemic, which shall not be named. We have a house full of teenagers who don't need mommy anymore, and the hubs is a traveling ER nurse, SO I have found myself with a lot of downtime.
After years of having this story taking space in my head, I decided to share it with the world. Gotta say, this writing gig is HARD. But with some time and grace, I'll get it right.
3.5 stars. So. I have conflicting feelings about this book. On the one hand, it’s got hot sex scenes and interesting characters for days. So I really enjoyed getting to know them a little bit. On the other, it’s structured a little differently than I’m used to. It’s got a bunch of minor mistakes in it like you would get if you were using Siri to type. And there’s a lot of things that get left unsaid.
But overall I’d say I’m interested. Definitely enough to read on to the next book and find out what happens with Dorian.
This sort of starts with the HEA and goes onto what happens next.
I feel like it was more a start to the story about Dorian than it is really about Dylan and Abel.
It’s got multiple povs, not just Abel or Dylan though they are the main two.
I don’t know. I feel like I can’t make up my mind on what my actual opinion is until I read the next book.
Definitely worth checking out. Just go in cautiously. Not only about what I said above, but there’s a lot of trauma and violence that could be triggering for some. Not much is said on page but it is definitely mentioned.
Abel is the first book in a new series about the Morningstar Motor Cycle club. I wouldn't say this was really romance. It is more of an introduction to the many characters of the MC. Abel and Dylan have been in love forever and the book opens right after their elopement. There is no build up to their getting together. However, I did enjoy their relationship and didn't really miss their getting together story. I thought the "curse" of the twins was interesting and look forward to future books to see if it is carried on with these two.
The bigger part of the story involves something that happened in Dylan and her twin sister Dorian's past. Their kidnapping also resulted in the death of their mother. Someone is trying to sabotage and kill Dorian. So, there is a little bit of a mystery there. The story is told through multiple points of view, not just Dylan and Abel. I enjoyed that part because it allowed me to get to know the other characters in the MC. The ending left things open for Dorian's story and I am looking forward to reading that one. I enjoy most of the MC books that I read. However, this one is a bit cruder than I'm used to. Don't get me wrong though, I did enjoy it. There is a lot of hot and dirty sex in this book, so be prepared. You won't want to stop reading!
I loved this author’s debut book and she has left me wanting for more. This is Abel and Dylan’s story but we got to get to know so many others with the way this story was told. Be ready for some sizzling scenes which I love in my MC books. So sit back and enjoy this fast paced story and I can’t wait to read more of Dorian’s story!
This is the debut book of a promising author! The author developed the characters well and the storyline is intriguing and suspenseful. In this first story of the series we get introduced to Abel, Dylan and a host of secondary characters. The book is fast paced and action packed from start to finish. I can’t wait to see how this series progresses!
A great start to a new MC series. Love finding newer authors I haven’t heard of to try! This one was a very quick read. I can’t wait to read about the other characters in their books!!!!!!
I was asked to read the MorningStar MC series by my new friend and author D. Williams in preparation to be an ARC reader for her new book.
Ya’ll know I love a good motorcycle series and this book did not disappoint! Also love the name of the title 🙃😉
I finished this book in a day and it was a very good distraction for me during a hard day. The character development of ALL characters (not just the mains) and the spice 🌶🌶🌶 were on point! Love a romance book that’s not all just smut and has twists and a plot to it. It was perfect!!!!
Favourite quote: “That’s the thing about books. They can hold the magic of love and life in their pages. I sit in my chair just holding the book. Feeling the indentations left behind from her small fingers. I rub the area where her wedding ring clearly wore the spine of the book away. Lord, I miss her.”
This series has 10 books with the 11th being released this summer. I can’t wait to read them all!!
Multiple POV's.... Debut novel.... Borderline crude language sometimes.... Kind of introductory novel to the series.... But different and promising ....
D. Williams is a new author to me but boy she hit this out of the ball park. I love that you get both POV's of the main characters and the seem so authentic. I love MCs and this is totally different which I truly love Abel was the way to start off with a bang welcome to Morning star MC I can not wait for the next one in the story.
For the love of all that is holy if you ever write a book and take my advice on one thing only…. PLEASE ALWAYS HIRE AN EDITOR!
This was just…. So much. Outlandish events mixed with non descriptive text I had no idea what was happening and then the CALL OF DUTY acronyms! I shouldn’t need another person to decode my romance novels.
”I glance down at the prettiest pink pussy, all glossy and throbbing that it looks like it’s glittering in the moonlight. Every time she inhales, her labia opens slightly and gives me a glimpse of my promised land. Why the fuck am I waxing poetic?”
THAT’S waxing poetic?
NOTHING about these scenes were sexy. Please please pleaseeeeeeeee put this through an editor, take away the call of duty references AT LEAST 75% of your readers will not understand, and maybe adjust those sexy times 😬
What a fantastic first novel! The authors first published works gets started by throwing you straight in at the deep end of the MC world! You will be sucked in from page one, not just because of the alpha male, but because of the no nonsense female lead who knows how to get what she wants!
Abel is the fantastically written debut novel from D. Williams, a fast paced MC romance, slightly different from the average MC books I’ve read of late which was rather refreshing. Fast paced, sexy, exciting and filled with a whole host of characters to get to know and love, which makes for some great reading, there are some triggers but readers are well warned up front.
I highly enjoyed Abel, the first book from the MorningStar MC and look forward to seeing what’s next in the series from this new talented author.
Abel and Dylan's story is so sweet. Great beginning to hear that they have been waiting for each other for years. Action starts right away as soon as their wedded bliss story begins with someone being shot. There are lots of curves on this road that they are headed down and they pull the rest of the MC family into it. Loads of love and support from the family and all with the history of Dylan and her sister get pulled into the back story. Very good beginning story of this MC and can't wait for more of these guys and their love/hate relationship. Very interested in Dori's tale.
A new author to follow. Thank you D for taking the chances to write. Abel was great. Different from other MC books that I've read. I am dying to get my hands on book two.
Welcome to MorningStar MC. You are about to enter awhole other world with male and female. You'll get multiple POV's but it flows. Nothing stays in the past for long. Secerts will unleash and rules are meant to be broken.
Abel is a great start to this series and I am looking forward to reading more of the MorningStar MC.
brand new author to me.. D. Williams did a phenomenal job on her first MC book. MC's are my downfall and I can not get enough of them. This book starts off with a BANG and it just keeps going. This book is fast paced, exciting, has those danger moments..
I love that this book focuses on Abel and Dylan but we do get some POV's from some of the other members of the MC. Its a nice touch..
I am looking forward to reading more in the series.. I need to know what is going on with Dorian..
Abel by D Williams is the first book in the Morningstar MC. I have to say, I was three chapters in, laughing and enjoying these characters ' antics when I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed in my choice of reading this new to me author. Hilarious interactions, suspenseful moments, intense heat, and a dash of action.... this story has whet my appetite for this MC and now I crave more!
First book in this series for this new author. And I loved it. I really loved that you got more then 2 points of view. It was like an introduction to meeting everyone. There is murder and mayhem but most importantly their is love.. I cannot wait for the next book to find out what happens this on ended on a cliffhanger for me.
Can’t believe this was a debut novel. This new author did an amazing job with the start of this MC series. It was a fast paced, action packed read. It was not for the faint hearted. But I’m hooked and can’t wait to read more about all these new characters.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Abel is the first book in The Morningstar MC series. For this to be the author's debut novel, it was done very well. This is MC romance at its dirtiest from the sexy times to the moments of fighting and murder. It tells the story of Abel and Dylan. The book began with Abel and Dylan getting married followed by action and suspense. I felt like I was watching an action movie with a side story of love. I found it interesting how the author structured the book. Instead of getting two points of view, you get several and get insight into other members of the MC. I loved the family nature of the MC. The love story between the main characters was filled with heart and some serious heat. I look forward to the rest of the series. This author is definitely worth trying out.
I really enjoyed listening to Abel! The narrator did amazing with the story! I love a good MC book and this one didn’t disappoint. The first chapter had me dying 😂 the mc presidents daughter (Dylan) runs off with his vp (Abel) to get married in secret and then something happens on the back of his bike 😏 definitely a great start to a book 😂 excited to see what happens in book 2 with Dorian!!! I loved the sister’s dynamic and how much they helped each other with their past!
This is the debut novel by this author and I have to say, wow! It's safe to say it's up there along with my favourite MC stories. It was fast paced, well written and the storyline had me hooked. I can't wait to see what happens in the rest of the series!!
Abel is the debut book by author D Williams! It’s a fresh take on MC series’. I love that while a steamy romance it starts with an already established couple! I also love the glimpses of what might be to come with the other characters!
A new author writng a new M C series. Its an okay read with a cliffhanger to next book. Not my favorite ending. Interesting characters in the M C club but a lot going on . Will be Interesting to read book 2 . Maybe??
Highly recommended if you like a fast paced romantic novel with a bad ass flair. Exciting and sexy! This book kept me hooked! I can’t wait until the next novel comes out!
