SAGARA Book three of The Tyro Series

Rate this book
SAGARA is the third book in The Tyro Series. Complete in itself it follows the life and sometimes tragic times of twin brothers, Angus and Hamish Macleod. Hamish has returned to his normal working life in Oban, Scotland, only to find himself discontent with his staid lifestyle. He begins to write about his brother's adventures. Those adventures encompass mystical meetings with remarkable men in India, including controversial guru, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, and Nisargadatta Maharaj, a mysterious spiritual teacher, who lives near Mumbai's red-light district. After dangerous and daring exploits in Iran, the story returns to Scotland. From there it's time to visit Amsterdam, where a gang of drug dealers are making big plans. The ecstasy boom is just around the corner and they want to cash in on it. It's time to check out Ibiza. A ship appears on the horizon. She's called Sagara.

Having read the first two books in The Tyro Series, SAGARA rounds this winding and fascinating story off perfectly. Set in multiple geographical locations, the reader is whisked from city to city as the story follows the adventures of Hamish and Angus Macleod, two of the most unforgettable fictional characters ever created. Scenes are depicted so vividly that it is difficult at times to believe you are reading fiction. Action, danger, romance and crazy wisdom spring from the pages to capture the imagination and enthral the reader. Excellent!

Sagara closes the Tyro Series saga and what a marvellous story it is. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is a unique mashup of crime, romance, travel, spiritual odyssey, and a whole lot more. It is very difficult to sum a book like this up in so many words. I would love to see this series adapted to film. Unforgettable.

An amazing three book saga. I'm sad to finish them. It's been a journey. These stories are outstanding.

Did not finish. Not the same as the first two books, which I enjoyed.

Enjoyed reading this one, but not quite as much as the first two books in The Tyro Series. That said, it is still a special book.
