Shoji Gatoh ( 賀東招二), born on July 11, 1971, is a Japanese author from Shiga Prefecture, Japan. He is best known for the creation of the Full Metal Panic! series that included light novels, manga and anime. He is not only an author but also an anime scenarist, for example "The Day of Sagittarius" of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and three episodes of Lucky Star.

this was a wonderful read, it's my favorite series. I did a speed-thru reading, and I will gladly read it again attentively. I can't believe they're making a sequel called FMP Family being released later on. I'm so happy, and so are lots of fans and supporters around the globe.

I forgot to read these in between the main novels so I am catching up on them now!

Sidestories for the mainline series, very lighthearted and funny slice of life moments for Sousuke and Chidori. My main gripe is with the short story relating to joking about suicide really showing its age.
