Draining Sloth

Rate this book
Why do it yourself when you can get others to do it for you?

I lived by the mantra if you want something done right, do it yourself - until all hell broke loose. I lost the biggest client of my career and ended things with my boyfriend in the same run. Just when I thought life couldn't get worse, I'm stabbed through the heart and wake up in a literal hell, with a new spouse and his minions to contend with.

This prince of Hell is determined to keep me captive until I've learned to control my new powers to help him fix his circle so he can assume his rightful place on the throne of Hell as a true son of Satan. Draining Sloth and his men—in more ways than one—is my new personal game.

A game I intend to win.

Draining Sloth is a novel in the multi-author shared world Sons of Satan. Be sure to read all seven books for a hellish good time.

Has potential

I was excited for this because the rest of this series has been awesome. This one while it had the potential to be great, did not live up to the rest of the series. It felt like it was missing parts, a lot of it didn't make sense and the editing was atrocious. Please fix it and let us know when a revised version is out.

Great Story Idea and Concept

This started off as a really great book. I got into the characters and was enjoying it. Then about half way through the names were getting misspelled and it just seemed a bit off a parts. Chapter 13 was probably the worst for grammar issues and character name mess ups, it seems like the author used a talk to text and it input weird warding instead of the names for example "the rule" was inputed where I assume "Thorul" was to be. It made this chapter a bit troublesome to read.

After that it got better until about chapter 17 it seems like the author input her thoughts or notes of what she wanted to happen and never fully written them out or really described the scene. They weren't even dull sentences. This was a sad because it really took away from the story and made it seem super rushed. The last chapter, chapter 18 was literally less than 6 sentences and they were half sentences, not full thoughts. This made me upset and question if this seriously was the end.

So many questions left unanswered, which I won't put here because I don't want to spoil anything. I also however felt there wasn't really a "bad guy" like there is in the other books in Sons of Satan series. There is a scene where you get a glimpse of a possible bad guy but then poof its gone.

If the author goes back and does some editing and adding onto the story I may reconsider my rating.

This was an enjoyable read with a good plot, but I feel it wasn't executed properly.

Wow, this book is desperately in need of an edit and apparently a couple of extra chapters. I was looking forward to reading this book as I had read the previous two in the Sons of Satan series and enjoyed them. You could see potential for this book, its characters and its world in the first few chapters but after that the editing and writing just went down the drain. Whole chapters would be missing a single full stop and sentences would just be a jumble of words. The main characters name was often spelt wrong/be completely different and then as the cherry on the top, the last two chapters were just missing, with the third last trailing off after a couple of sentences. Did I just read a draft of this book? Either way it needs a series edit and needs to be actually finished. Would not recommend reading it until this happens.

Hoped for More…

I waited for this book for so long. This shared universe is one of my absolute favorites and I had such amazingly high hopes for this book after waiting for it for so long. It was…okay. I feel like it could’ve been so much better but it felt so rushed and like the author got fed up or bored with it. There are parts/sentences/maybe even paragraphs missing and then the timeline jumps from being there for a day to a week to MONTHS so quickly and everything except the horizontal tango feels like it’s going on in the background without getting explained.

There was very little interaction if any between anyone else besides the FMC and the MMCs.

Overall I’m so sad that it feels like it wasn’t taken seriously.

It’s good

I enjoyed this book, even though at times the writing felt a bit disconnected and like parts were missing, there are a few unanswered questions, not enough to give a lower rating but too many to give a higher rating.

Spoiler alert **********

What happened to Ainsley’s necklace? Who were the 2 demons that took it & why?
There was no obstacle to get in their way of returning his powers other than Ainsley’s reluctance to have group sex which she got over really fast.
It’s like big parts of this story are missing.

this needs some editing

Some of the chapters were just gibberish. There were run on sentences and no punctuation and then without much plot at all the book ended. The other books in the series are okay. The character development isn’t great and there is a lot of filler for lack of a better term but this book seems incomplete. Like it was published on accident without a true plot or editing.

Horrid

What in the world did I just read? After Greed, which was very well done, I downloaded this. The typos, lack of commas, no story line and literally author notes to herself are what are in these pages. I even closed the app and downloaded again in case it was an error.

NOPE . . . It just sucks that bad. So bad, I am scared to read the next one in the series.

Good series

I love the idea of this series 7 books 7 authors. This book was good short. It felt like it had a steady pace and then fast forward and done. The ending felt rushed. But overall it was a good book.

it wasn’t finished

I don’t know if it is the version or what. But the book was formatted weird and some chapters looked like the notes. It was incomplete. The others I have read in the series so far are complete though.

It’s unfortunately impossible to give this book a zero so I will give it a one.

This truly felt all over the place it’s like it couldn’t agree on a steady flow.

One minute she’s a confident badass who can handle anything thrown at her. The next she is lost and confused and overly angry and needy.

One minute she’s is bonding with all of her mates and having an excessive amount of sex and the next they say something to her that she doesn’t like and now she wants to go home.

She likes her new home and then she suddenly can’t handle all the change and demands to be let go while also wanting to bring them with her.

She wants to go home and let all of this hardship go and when Throul one of her mates does / says the same she freaks and demands him to get his shit together.

This was lazily done no pun intended… I will read the next book in the series and I pray it is better than this.
