amanda usen's one night stand after another pulled me in with the description alone. “clara duke lives to crochet wearable art. but right this second, she's looking at the one guy who has the uncanny ability to unravel her in every possible way.” wow. i'm breathless. i also liked zane's pov as much as clara's, which was a surprise because the male lead's pov is not something i usually become invested in. one night stand after another is a rollercoaster with twists and turns, and clara duke and zane brampton take us for one sweet ride. their chemistry, indeed, is instant and 'apocalyptic,' but it makes it all the more exciting.

First I have to say how excited I am to see Amanda writing again! I've enjoyed her previous books and this one lives up to my expectations. Clara and Zane shared a stolen kiss at a high school prom but then everything fell apart. A decade later in an effort to make amends, Clara shows up at her ex-boyfriend's wedding only to encounter Zane again and discover the sparks that initially drew them together are still there. Clara has only one plan in mind now - to get to L.A. for a job interview that can hopefully lead to showcasing her crochet talents, and Zane doesn't fit into that plan. Except, after a steamy night together, he's not ready to call it quits and fate lends him a hand by giving him the opportunity to cross the country with Clara (stopping at eclectic yarn craft stores along the way). He's hoping to show Clara that they could have a future together one night (and crocheted item of clothing) at a time. I loved the crochet 'hook', showing off Clara's wonderful stitching talent and showcasing that with an instagram and blog following envious to most. Since Zane is a chef (with an opportunity of his own to explore in L.A), he gets an opportunity also to check out his interests along the way. It's a second chance, road trip romance that will appeal to many. I'm so happy to have come along for the ride!

This book had a lot of fun, sweet, funny, romantic parts to it and I liked bits and pieces. Clara Duke and Zane Brampton have great chemistry and I liked their relationship. She's big time into crocheting and knitting which is not something we generally see, especially in someone younger. Clara actually goes to attend Zane's wedding so that she can confront him about something that happened way back in high school. Nobody would ever really do that, not in my world. He broke her heart and she wants an apology and to understand why he did what he did. His response? Spend the night with him...say what? Well, I'm sure you already can guess what she did and you're right. That one night let Zane know he wanted more. I guess I am in the minority because nothing about it resonated with me. Although I liked them, I just didn't truly like the plot.

She's already giving away her patterns on her blog, but Zane Brampton, chef and owner of successful restaurants, thinks she should sell her patterns, crochet clothing and make a steady income. A trip from NYC to California ignites the spark from ten years ago. This trip includes yarn shops, lots of chocolate and sex. Zane pushes too hard and Clara decides their one nights are over. What's a girl to do when you can't get the most amazing man out of her mind?

Zane was the definition of dream man, dream anything really. He went above and beyond for Clara. He drove her across country for a interview of her dream. Gave her plenty of sex and took her to the best restaurants AND took her to get millions and millions of yarn fabric, because that was her passion to knit anything.
Clara believed in making plans, she didn't trust her guts to make the right decision even though it was right. But Zane made her see that she could do so much more with her talent, he believed in her. He wanted more then a one night stand that Clara offered him for old time shake. Their Chemistry was exclusive, he felt so strong for her. But Clare didn't want her heart to be broken from Zane again. She only wanted those days with him and go their separate ways. This short story was great, I had so much fun reading this. it was light and sweet and short. I loved everything that Zane did. And I loved how Clara came to her senses and choose to be with Zane in the end.

Zane and Clara have had an intense connection ever since high school. Unfortunately, their desire got the better of them in the worst possible way and, in trying to protect Clara from the fallout, Zane misstepped badly. In response, Clara uprooted her life and ran as far as possible. Now, 10 years later, they find that connection hasn't diminished at all and they both want to see how far it goes. Certainly there's no harm in just one night...right?
This is definitely a spicy romp, but there's enough of a plot and character development to hold readers' interest between intimate scenes. And, hoo boy, are there intimate scenes. They are plentiful and inventive! There are conflicts, but both characters are fundamentally decent people who just have some growing to do. It's enjoyable to follow their journey and cheer them on! Pick this up for a steamy, but fairly light and low-angst, diversion.

This was a great story line of second chances and spice, romance and spice, fun interactions and did I mention … spice? Zane,.. mmm Zane! The chemistry between him and Clara is just insane in and out of the bedroom.

This is a cute, quick and easy read. Zane and Clara dated in high school, and the relationship had an explosive end… Now, ten years later she is set up with Zane at a wedding- sparks and clothing fly, resulting in a spicy one night stand. The chemistry is obvious, and it’s clear the feelings never truly died between the two.
They failed once, and the fear of facing their feelings could sabotage a good thing.

Clara agrees to one night with Zane but will it ever be enough? A fun cross country trip with Clara and Zane with leave you craving for more. This is a fast paced read with plenty of banter, spicy/sweet romance and plenty mentions of yummy food. The perfect read for the lazy dog days of summer.

If you love a one night stand turning into a sexy road trip, Amanda Usen’s novel will definitely meet the mark. This fast paced, super steamy romp is such a fun read that quickly sweeps the reader up in the hero and heroine’s drama and road to forgiveness and rediscovery. Usen’s writing has an ease and conversational tone which works perfectly for this enemies to lover’s, second chance romance.
Clara and Zane had a hot and passionate romance in high school which ended pretty tumultuously leaving Clara with bitter feelings towards Zane. Now ten years later, Zane is determined to gain Clara’s forgiveness and proposes one night of passion. But when Clara misses her plane the next morning pursuit of her dream job, Zane is determined to drive her there and what was meant to be one night because a sexy road trip journey to a rediscovery of feelings.
This is a fairly light hearted romance full of many very popular tropes working towards the hero and heroine’s final acceptance of love. The passion is the novel definitely runs hot and Usen really explores this in the physical side of their relationship. These two have a history and a foundation that they have already built so their journey really becomes about learning to understand the other and see how they have grown. Watching their feels regrow was fun, their journey is delightful and their conclusion, while quick, is the perfect happy for now ending, with the openness for growth and more discovery.
If the tropes mentioned above are your cat nip, then don’t hesitate to pick up this novel. This is the first novel I have read from Amanda Usen and it will definitely not be my last.

This story is absolutely amazing. I mean everything about it was euphoric. There was so much tension and chemistry between Clara and Zane. The way the author displayed the characters was perfect. This story is sexy, humorous, and thrilling. I love it and I highly recommend it!!

Clara Duke loves to crochet and knit and had dreams of doing that for a living back in high school but after things that happened from her past, she went the safe route and went to college for an accounting degree instead. It's been ten years since high school and Clara decides to accept a wedding invitation from her high school boyfriend so she could right some wrongs that were done. Imagine her surprise when she realizes that the ex invited her for his friend, restaurateur Zane Brampton, the only guy that Clara has ever really had a strong connection with. After Clara's initial surprise, she realizes that she is still strongly attracted to Zane.
Zane has been in love with Clara since high school and he is going to do his darnedest to convince her to give him a chance. Clara agrees to a one night, no strings attached fling because the next day she is flying to California to finally pursue her dream. After a night like no other she has ever had, Clara misses her flight so Zane agrees to get her to CA in time for her interview. They spend the next few days driving across the country stopping at many different yarn places that Zane knew Clara would just love. He also picks the best places to eat on their journey. The whole while Clara is able to crochet next to him. By the time they reach CA it appears that both Zane and Clara are in love. Of course their new found happiness is short lived when Zane does something that has Clara seeing red. It will take a lot of internal digging for these two to find their happy ever after but once they both figure things out, it's a perfect love story!

This was a fun, light (and steamy) read. I wasn't expecting it to be novella-length but I think it worked fine. Clara is an accountant who moonlights as a fiber artist/blogger. She reconnects with an old flame (so much drama, about something that happened in high school! I'm having visions of Ross: "we were ON A BREAK!" lol) at her ex's wedding and rather spontaneously decides to allow herself one last one-night stand. This of course turns into a whole series of one-night stands (the purist could argue, this is now a week-long stand) as the two of them travel from the East Coast to LA.
The plot is a little contrived but be honest, you weren't here for the plot. The steam level is pretty high on this one and the chemistry between the two of them, at least in the bedroom, was off the charts. Frankly I thought Clara was a little hard on Zane outside the bedroom, from the storage-closet incident in high school all the way through the climax of the novel where Zane apparently commits a huge crime. I obviously did not think it was a huge crime.
I had a couple of logistical questions, among them how you could get awarded several thousand dollars in a grant and then use it on whatever you felt like, instead of what the grant was awarded for? #mystery. I also was a little bored of all the crocheting because that's not really my scene, but I do know that many people really really love it. Those people will be *delighted* by this book.
I'd definitely try something by this author again. The spice is what I came for, and she delivered. 3 1/2 stars, rounded up

Clara's dreams got derailed after she was found with Zane in a supply closet at graduation, but she's determined to get back on track a decade later. She's got an interview for a job that will set her up for success and, hopefully, grant her the ability to earn a living through her artistic endeavors. Sadly, her transportation falls through, so Zane offers to drive her across the country so she can make the date and time for her interview.
Zane is competitive and takes risks, but he hasn't managed to get the one thing he's always wanted, Clara. He makes his mind up to show Clara how much he's changed and what his true intentions are toward her... but will she believe him after so much time has passed and how badly he hurt her in the past?
This story was told in dual POV, which made the pacing seem like a breeze. The "what ifs" that both characters endured were completely relatable. The number of times that food/meals and yarn were described in the book, amazingly, was not overkill in the least (based on the respective occupations of each MC). The one thing that could have been toned down a bit were the sex scenes - yes, they had agreed on a one-night stand (which obviously got stretched out), and they launched into the physical aspect with so much gusto. The cringe factor (i.e. dirty talk and various positions) was tolerable, though, and I enjoyed reading this book.

Zane is competitive and takes risks, but he hasn't managed to get the one thing he's always wanted, Clara. He makes his mind up to show Clara how much he's changed and what his true intentions are toward her... but will she believe him after so much time has passed and how badly he hurt her in the past?
This story was told in dual POV, which made the pacing seem like a breeze. The "what ifs" that both characters endured were completely relatable. The number of times that food/meals and yarn were described in the book, amazingly, was not overkill in the least (based on the respective occupations of each MC). The one thing that could have been toned down a bit were the sex scenes - yes, they had agreed on a one-night stand (which obviously got stretched out), and they launched into the physical aspect with so much gusto. The cringe factor (i.e. dirty talk and various positions) was tolerable, though, and I enjoyed reading this book.

I thought this books was so much fun to read, and it was the perfect amount of romance, humor and smut (honestly a golden trio if I do say so myself). I loved both main characters, but especially Clara. I thought she was sweet and quirky, and I loved how her character developed over the story. I mean only a very special character could hook me in by being super enthusiastic about yarn. I loved that in the end she didn't have to completely let go of the thing that would help her anxiety, she was able to adapt her plan to not only include some financial safety but also include space for her passion. Just because I loved Clara so much does not mean I did really enjoy Zane, he was sweet and supportive. I honestly felt the love and respect he had for Clara from the very first moment we are in his POV.
This is a very quick read, I initially started it as a palate cleanser between fantasy books. And while its fast fast pace helped cleanse the palate , it was also much more than that. I thought it was a beautiful tale about second chances and believing in your passions. If you are looking for a quick second-chance romance that also includes a cross county road trip, alpacas, amazing sounding food and yes tons of yarn I highly recommend One Night Stand After Another.

Enemies-to-Lovers trope with lots of heat and sweetness
Clara Duke has a plan. Her life is guided strictly by her obsession with her plans although in essence she is an artist. She makes beautiful wearable art with her crocheting talent. On this particular evening she has come to a former boyfriend’s wedding to beg for his forgiveness only to find, he’s way past needing that. He’s getting married to the woman of his dreams. What Clara doesn’t know yet is that her former boyfriend Jack invited her for someone else…Zane Brampton. Who just so happens to be the reason for this long-overdue apology. Clara has harbored feelings for Zane since high school. Now Zane is the talk of Manhattan with his successful restauranteur career. Circumstances give them both a second chance but will Clara undue her obsessive plans to take advantage?
What a great book! I was intrigued on page one wanting to find out if Clara could figuratively let down her hair and take what she wants and needs: Zane. The blurb gives other details which are pertinent but I want you to know that this is a must read for second chance romance lovers. I will admit Clara irritated me toward the end. Ms. Usen did an excellent job in making her difficult at just the right time to give this story the hump that it needed to get over. Highly recommended. ✔ Normally I appreciate the supportive male characters more than the main one, so here is me really appreciating Zane. He is a total dream guy. Heis caring, attentive and swoony.
✔ I absolutely love every second of the road trip.
✔ Zane and Claire's chemistry was off the charts.
✔ This book is really spicyyy hot, but it has a sweet over the top ( just an expression , but not that over the top) drama with very cute supportive characters.
✔ I Liked how the road trip was all about Claire's love for Crochet. (am a very imaginative reader, so i could actually see her finger's fly over those needles)
🤔What could have been better -
✔ Even though I absolutely loved Zane , because of him I will never be able to eat chocolate conventionally. As the line in the book, "He ruined chocolate for me" (read the book , you'll know why)

Clara sends in her RSVP to attend her ex-boyfriend's wedding. WHY!?!?!? I honestly could not come up with a reason why this was a good idea but it became quite evident as I continued to read. There may have been a conversation between Jack, the ex, and his best friend Zane, who was the reason for the apology Clara seemed to think she still needed to give after al this time.
There were many laugh out loud moments, moments of frustration, moments of WTF. The banter between Zane and Clara was something else. Deciding to road trip from east to west coast because the airline only flew that way once a week?!?! That sure was one extreme budget airline! Although I have to say that it all worked out in Zane's favor. The title makes sense once you get into the story. Clara's determination to get to LA was admirable, but Zane's quest to make her see her talent along the way was phenomenal. Then plot twist with the Fiber King!
This is my first book by the author. I'm glad I took a chance on reading a book by someone new to me!

Imagine showing up at your ex's wedding a decade later to apoligize for kissing his worse enemy in the closet of his family's resturant. Only to find out that invite is a set up for you to get with his enemy turned best friend who is still not over that kiss. Now you find yourself in a roadtrip across the nation with this such man. What could go wrong.
If you are looking for a fun fast flirty read? Then you are in the right place and you should definelty pick this up. I just could not stop reading this book had me sweating. Clara and Zane had perfect chemistry and their realtionship with each other have made me completely jealous.

Best date ever: when the guy takes you out on a date and proceeds to buy every thing you ooh and aah over…
I floved it! Never thought yarn or chocolate could be so hawt… wow! Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes and as this was a first book by this author I was blown away!
What did I like? Pretty much everything… the chemistry between Zane and Clara was off the charts sizzling. I read this in one sitting and devoured it. I loved the idea, the fun road trip, and all the hawt scenes! Five huge stars!
Would I recommend or buy? Love the cover and would definitely read more by this author! It literally made me want to learn to crochet! Just such an enjoyable book! I would love this for my shelf!

2.5 stars. Didn't love this one, but wasn't offended by it, so I don't want to hurt the book's overall rating so I am rounding up.
Things I didn't like:
• Way more sex than story
• No actual relationship building (see first point) to tell us why these two liked each other so much (please tell me it was more than just the bedroom)
• One dimensional MMC who was obsessed with pleasing the FMC - even though he didn't know her since high school (why was he so sure she was the one?)
• Her being a total mess in the interview (get it together and be a professional!)
Things I did like:
• FMC taking a stand against her MMC being so pushy about his approach to life
• FMC self-examination of life choices
The book was dragging for me by the end and I was glad when it started wrapping up.

This sort erotic romance starts en media res with Clara showing up at her ex-boyfriend's wedding. She isn't sure why she was invited but takes the opportunity to apologize for leaving him in high school. At the wedding she learns that the reason shew as invited because his friend Zane wanted her there so he could have a second chance with her. The two have a one night stand and when she misses her flight the next morning Zane agrees to drive her to CA and the two keep up the one night stand for the trip. This book was an entertaining read that I think would do really good on Kindle Unlimited. It definitely was an erotic romance with the physical aspect of their relationship being the main focus. That being said, there was banter, groveling, and a HEA so it was definitely a romance.

This is my first book by Amanda and I absolutely loved it!!!! I finished this book in one day! I couldn't put it down. The writing was definitely good and the chemistry between Clara and Zane was off the charts epic!!! Like who would have thought a book about cross-stitch and knitting would be this interesting....lol but with Zane behind the wheel and Clara and her quirky ways it was so intriguing and loveable and funny and sexy!!! And I also need to check that Jack has a book and I hope he does, if not he needs one. But this book has everything you could possibly want or need and I devoured it like it was some fine chocolate. A fun, flirty reconnection turns out to be something sizzling between a ten year old, “would’ve, should’ve, could’ve,” between Zane and Clara.
I was easily drawn to Clara’s strength, yet her vulnerability and periodical self-doubt, because that’s reality. Zane was all about maximizing the inch that Clara was giving him, to prove himself, and hopes that she lets him take that mile.
Well written from third-person, I didn’t get horribly lost in who was saying what, which can happen with other authors. World building providers just enough details to paint a picture for you, but not overly abundant or trivial and it feels completely unnecessary.
It was a very good quick read, and I will definitely be reading more from this author.

For me, this rating might be a case of "It's not you, it's me." I didn't enjoy it, but I wasn't in a romance mood really. At a different time, I might be up for it.
For potential readers, this is a book that starts off with a lot of sex scenes and keeps those going most of the book. You know what kind of reader you are, so make your choice accordingly.
The couple has some communication issues to get over before they can let themselves be a couple, but it's more different outlooks. (Me, I tended to agree with the dude in this couple more, even though the author painted them as both needing to get over things.)
