Eleventy-one years after the destruction of that Insidious Ring, men, elfs, dwarfs, and hobbicks watch and enjoy the precious films given them by the filmmaker. Life has never been better in fact, for after evil was permanently destroyed (with no possibility of ever coming back or causing problems for anyone at all) everyone can finally just sit back, relax, and enjoy their pipes.

Frobo Daggins (alleged grandson of the most famous hobbick who ever lived) lives a simple life in his hobbick hole in the Chire. When he isn't smoking, eating, or drinking with his two best friends and his gardener, he's watching the most beloved films with the rest of the Chire out on the big lawn. But when a certain film-wizard imposter shows up at his door, he's forced into the undertaking of a perilous quest full of satire, adventure, and quite unexpected consequences.

Thanks to the author for sending me a copy to review! This hasn't changed my opinion on the book.

Firstly I thought this was a really clever book with witty humour. The book really felt like it was going outside the box.

I felt like this wasn't just a satire of Lord of The Rings, but an addition to the original books, with more lore and content.

It was not only funny, the plot was also intriguing and gripping. And I thought the spinoff worked really well in this scenario.

It felt a little slow to get started with a lot of slightly drawn out conversations between characters, however it didn't detract from my four star review.

Such a thoughtful book that really got into the nooks and crannies of the differences between the original books and movies whilst telling a really funny and engaging story. Can’t wait to hear how it plays out in the next book!
