Bearfoot: A Northbounder E-mails from the Appalachian Trail

BEARFOOT - A NORTHBOUNDER E-mails from the Appalachian Trail is one man's personal story of hiking 2200 plus miles, from Georgia to Maine. This man, Pat Pittard, was not a hiker when he began this journey. This is not a "How to..." book. It could be called a "Why to..." Pat's e-mails to his friends and family from the trail took a life of their own and resulted in this entertaining story that is Pat's first book. It is a great read which offers the opportunity to sense and feel the AT. So, whether you are interested in the outdoors or not, be assured this book will entertain you.

A friend gave me this book over a decade ago after I completed half of the AT. She was taking a class the author was teaching and he gave out copies asking them to gift this book to someone who would enjoy it. Fast forward many years and I found the book, her note, and decided to read it.

It’s an easy read for those who enjoy adventure. A good reminder of how the busyness of the world is both necessary and destructive. For me, a nice walk down memory lane of paths crossed before me.
