She had the perfect life, until she didn’t.

Lacy Fields was so blessed, she felt like God’s favorite daughter. A husband she loved, a daughter she adored, and a soon-to-be granddaughter she planned to dote on. When a tragic accident wipes away two thirds of those blessings, everything in her life comes into question. Did God ever really love her? Can she forgive the man behind the wheel? Is there life outside of her grief? Could the sick, unwanted infant she’s rocking in the NICU be the answer to her prayers?

He knew she blamed him

But she’d never said so--until now. Cole Fields loves his wife, but he’s out of ideas about how to help her overcome the grief of losing their only child. Her silent condemnation, her growing distance from God, and her wild plan to rebuild their family make him fear for her sanity.

Where do you go when life drags the rug out from under you…again?

When things go predictably wrong and Lacy is faced with another empty nursery--and a second shattered heart—she’s convinced that she has nothing more to give and leaves everything behind. Can Cole’s prayers and God’s love convince her that life is better with her in it, or will despair finally put an end to her suffering?

Small-town Oklahoma and the friendships they produce are embedded in Sharon Srock’s heart. After spending her first fifteen years on the move, living in fourteen homes and attending thirteen schools, she landed in a tiny central Oklahoma community and made it her own. As someone who’s been blessed to be a part of the same hometown church for more than five decades, Sharon writes stories of hope built from her own unique perspective—stories that demonstrate a sisterhood formed not by blood but by heart, where ordinary women are able to do extraordinary things thanks to the friends who surround them and the faith that pulls them through. Sharon still lives in the middle of nowhere, Oklahoma, with her husband and three very large dogs. When she isn’t writing, she loves to read, cook, and travel. One of these days, she’s going to figure out how to do all three at the same time.

Did God ever really care about me? Lacy Fields seeks the answer as life keeps hitting her with punch after punch after punch. Three years after the most devastating accident, Lacy cannot pull herself from the grief and anger she feels. Traveling the path alone has been her most challenging obstacles. But is she alone? With each rise and fall, Lacy cannot see any favorable future. When God pulls the last punch, will Lacy find her way back or leave it all? Will Cole and God's voice be enough?

I love this series. Sharon Srock is not afraid to face the tough issues in everyday life. Her storylines interweave friendship and sisterhood. They show that not just blood makes one family. Facing a crisis of faith, her characters bring strength, understanding and caring within the story. I look forward to each new story. I received an ARC. A review was not required.

Lacey might be one of my favorite books by this author and one of my favorite books of this series. It was heartbreaking yet tender and so full of biblical truths. This book was raw and realistic and wonderful. I can't wait for the next one in this series.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author but was not under any obligation to review. All opinions are solely mine.

I wish I could give more than five stars on this book. Sharon had me from the beginning on this read. Why, because it was so true to life! I have lived some of this book and am living it.
Lacy had the best life ever. Her daughter, Olivia, was getting ready to give birth to her first granddaughter. On the way to the hospital her husband, Cole, and her daughter, granddaughter were in a horrible car accident that took Olivia and her granddaughters life. Lacy couldn't grasp the idea that they were gone and blamed her husband (not his fault) for their death. Lacy can't eat, sleep, function for three years she blames God and anyone else. (this is so true of those who have lost a child. Someone always seems to turn their back on God and blame whoever they can and stay in pain and agony and not be able to deal with life!). One of Lacy's friends recommends she start volunteering at the hospital in the Neonatal clinic. Lacy doesn't want to, but goes as she doesn't want to argue with her friend. Lacy falls in love with Zoe...a baby that has diabetes, born early and weighing only 3 lbs. Lacy just holds her and falls in love with her. One day Zoe's mom shows up at the hospital and is trying so hard to see how she can care for Zoe, but her life is not a life that would involve a child. She can barely make ends meet and she doesn't think she can care for Zoe. She ends up giving the child to Lacy and Cole to adopt. Things change in their lives and the story continues on. I won't give any more insight. I have said more than enough. One of the best books Sharon has written. So true to life! Must read, great book!!! I received this book for my honest review.

Lacy is heart wrenching, heartbreaking, and completely healing. This story about a woman who has lost so much and has to learn to rediscover what she still has.

Lacy has lost a lot, including her faith. She has been pushing those away that try to remind her of what she has. Everything pulls her further into her grief.

To have grief and pain expressed like this on the page is something to behold. I could feel every hurt, every sting, every barb and I could feel her pain.

I could feel the pain of her husband, the blame he felt, the grief that he held on his own.

I love the healing nature of love. I felt the entire journey in these pages and I would go back again. It was something that was visceral and real. It was something to hold onto.

I love the way Sharon Srock's characters have their relationships with God. The conversations as that of a friend. I long for faith like that and try for it every day. I love the messages that come from this series and again, the healing nature of God and of Love. This is a story that needed to be told and a message of faith that needs to be heard.

I received an eARC from the author and this is my honest review.

WoW! Can I say all the feels, man! I didn't expect the story that flowed on these pages for Lacy and Cole's story. A heart riveting page turner. One where I wanted to reach in and strangle, reach in and hug, reach in and plead how unfair they are, reach in and just take them in my hearts and pray with them. Yes, all the feels! But one that showed me that it is not always my way or my husbands way, or even advise from a friend, it's His way, in His time. And one that showed me that when I feel I am faltering in my faith, to lean unto Him with all my might but also into those around me that love me. To trust them to always help guide me. Lacy and Cole's story is deep, it's complicated, it's heartwarming. Olivia, Summer, Deena and Zoe each play a huge role in this story and the love that connects them all is just inspiring. A must read that will have you on the edge of your seat, in tears of happy and sad. Be ready with a zillion or more tissues!!!

Lacy tells the story of a heartbroken mother who is struggling with grief over the loss of her daughter and grandchild... a nightmare surely no parent wants to endure. This book deals with loss and grief and ultimately finding God again amidst all of life's hardships.

I started this book soon after having my 3rd baby, but because Sharon Srock has the beautiful ability to draw you in to the story to feel every emotion, I had to set it aside, as it pulled at every heart string. I am glad I was finally prompted to pick it up again and give it another shot. This book emphasizes that trusting God, especially in times of grief, takes tremendous strength. This further encourages one in one's faith. It also reminds us that God is in control and that everything is according to His plans. We can have our ideas and put them into action, but ultimately God is the final decision maker. Hence it is imperative that we surrender all to Him and His perfect timing.

I received a review copy of this book from the author. All opinions expressed herein are my own.

From the moment I started reading this book, I was caught up in the emotions evoked by the main characters. Lacy is grieving and no one, not even God, is able to change her. Srock helps the reader to understand what people experiencing the grieving process go through on their way to healing.
Without giving away more of the story, I will just say that this is my favorite Srock book to date. The mark of a good book, IMHO, is that it brings me into the story and lets me experience strong emotions-sadness, pain, and happiness. This book did all three. Srock is a wonderful writer and tells a good story. She does it without seeming “preachy,” so the reader sees how God cares for His children.

Lacy by Sharon Srock
Crafted With Love Series Book Four
Cole and Lacy Fields had what seemed like the perfect life. But three years ago, everything changed. After a terrible accident, Lacy struggles as she loses her faith. Loses herself.
Cole loves his wife so much, but he doesn’t know how he can help her. She’s walked away from God and her friends. And him. And then everything changes. Again.
Have your tissues nearby if you cry easily. I love these stories and they definitely pull at my heartstrings. Not everything comes out smelling like roses, but with God…He always prevails.

Lacy lost her daughter and unborn granddaughter in an accident, and descended into grief so profound not even her husband, the love of her life, could reach her. She blamed him for the accident, but it was not his fault.
Sharon Srock describes grief in perhaps the most descriptive terms I have ever read. She gives God the glory for being The Great Physician he is in giving relief to those of us who suffer loss. I cried throughout the book, which I don't generally do. It was catharsis for my own grief.
How can there be a happy ending after such scenes? Sharon left me feeling uplifted and hopeful. I recommend "Lacy" by Sharon Srock, and plan to read other books by this author.

Fair warning: this is not a light-hearted story. It has some heart-wrenching scenes that might be difficult for some to read. What kept me going with it was the fact it’s included in a collection called A Hopeful Heart.

Srock gives a realistic look at a devastating loss that leads to deep depression and even a loss of faith. Even after nearly three years, Lacy Fields is ruled by her hurt and anger over the crash that took her daughter. Neither Lacy’s husband (Cole) nor her friends can reach her. Just as she decides to end her marriage, a rare opportunity provides her with a reason to reunite with Cole.

Before you start reading this book grab a box of tissue, you will need them. This is a Must Read book for anyone who is going through hard time and thinks that they are all alone, God is with you and waiting for you to reach out.

The characters are all pretty comfortable, until they're not. There's a plot twist that I didn't see coming, then another. But it all pulls together perfectly. Completely got lost in it and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. Excellent lessons of more than one kind and strengthening faith. Excellent read.

I received this book free from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

I liked this book. It is not ooey gooey romance but it is beautiful. Grief is complex and affects different people in different ways. Obviously in a novel one cannot deal with every aspect of grief in two main characters but the author did a great job of showing how the main characters dealt with their grief. I especially liked the contrast of the one character dealing with their grief with God and the dealing with it without God. Sharon Srock also did great job of showing both characters relationship was effected by how they grieved. I highly recommend this book.

Lacy and Cole have suffered an unimaginable tragedy. Lacy is stuck in her grieving, angry at God and the world. Cole is trying his hardest to help his wife heal and also heal himself. God steps in and does what only God can do and brings them a future better than they thought would be possible after what has happened. This is one of those books that draws you in and you can’t put it down until it’s finished.

This is a story that has so much raw pain that you can’t help but want her to feel God’s love and comfort. Lacy has lived through a tragedy and she just cannot see life beyond this event. This book shows that grief does not follow a timeline and that depression is not something to snap out of. I enjoyed this book because of how real it was. Life is not always perfect and great, but God never leaves and is there waiting with open arms when the time is right.

In this amazing book you will read about the loss of loved ones, grief and loosing your faith in God.
Lucy and Cole’s story will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. The characters in this story are like one big family. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I couldn’t stop reading this book. I would give it a higher rating than a five star review if I could.

l Love You, My Child

In the blink of an eye Lacy and Cole’s lives were forever changed. Cole carried on in dad to day life but Lacy was able to do even that. She shut out everyone, even God. She was sinking and had nowhere to turn. Then a new door opened in their lives and Lacy and Cole accepted the gift from God only to lose it. Where could Lacy go now? To whom could she turn to for comfort and guidance. The answer she got came from God Himself.

What an emotional roller coaster this book was! I knew from the very first chapter that this was going to be a hard book to read. It hit close to home for me but once I got started, I couldn't seem to put it down. I had to know that there was a light at the end of the tunnel! This book will truly tug at your heartstrings.

I've read many of Sharon's books. This is the first one that I have been all over the map with emotions. From sadness at the beginning to anger and dislike. Then happiness back to sadness and then dislike. This was followed by happiness then a lump in my throat for the last chapter. This book has it all! Definitely worth the read!!

Does a baby change everything?

What a painfully real demonstration of all the emotions a person feels while grieving! just because a new member of the family might be brought into the mix, that doesn't mean real healing automatically occurs. I love the way God works with His children, each in the way He knows each one needs. Very well done!

Wow that was a packed episode

I like that the author is real about Christians handling a crisis being a lot like other people. Now we know that God was there all along but I can see Lacy’s grief and her difficulty coping. But God was there all along waiting for her to see and it took a very realistic dream to get her attention. The rest you’ll have to read for yourself.

Lacy

This was a very emotional and uplifting story. A roller coaster of events send lacy on an emotional and spiritual journey that shows her that God has never left even though she tried to turn away but part of lady's heart could hear God's words. I just want to mention you might need some tissues. Enjoy

Wow wow wow. Just loved this book. Sharon really knows how to get us to a point in really trusting God in whatever you are going through. Only God knows the answers we are looking for. Trusting each day is what He only wants from us as we go through pain and sorrow. Will be reading more of this series.

Many parts of this story were so sad. And just when it seemed like Lacy and Cole could not go on God was there. I can't imagine how hard it was to write this book and the tears that were shed. This books reminds us of the healing, hope and peace that a relationship with God can bring.

From jubilation to devastation all in one book. As always for me, many tissues were needed as I read this book. All my emotions were swinging from highs to lows and everything in between! Lacy deals with grief in her way and Cole deals with it in his way. What a roller coaster ride!!!

Lacy

This novel focused on grief and recovering from it. It also spoke about recovering faith. Both of these processes can be overwhelming. This book handled both well. The author kept you in a bit of a roller coaster, but it was well worth the reaf!

I loved this book from beginning to end.
It showed how vulnerable people can be when tragedy strikes. What was beautiful was the transformation in Lacy’s life.
