Rayn has one thing on his mind ~ make it to the NFL. He spends all his time practicing and no time studying, which means he's failing all his classes. Coach says he needs a tutor to help him bring his grades up or he'll be benched.
In steps Lennon. the best tutor to the athletes on campus. She's super focused and super organized. But these two are already butting heads on day 1 when Rayn doesn't like her approach. But is that really the issue or does he think Lennon will cause him to get off the fast track to the NFL that he's been dreaming of his whole life?
I loved that it's written in dual POV's. This is a super quick insta~attraction college romance. They were both stubborn and cute together.
*Thanks to Gigi Love and Booksprout for the ARC. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Rayn and Lennon get off to a bad start. Rayn is in desperate need of some tutoring to get his grades up. Lennon is his tutor. He ends up walking out during their first session because he doesn't like the way she works.
He then pushes her away AGAIN when he finds out she's a virgin. I was about ready to slap him, but he redeemed himself. Four stars!
important bits: virgin heroine no OM/OW no cheating safe HEA & epilogue ♡

Break Me de Gigi Love serie The Trist Brothers libro 1
Argumento:
Tiene las paredes levantadas. Enfocado. Determinado. No tiene tiempo para mujeres. Hasta que ella llega para romperlo.
RAYN TRIST
Soy duro y concentrado. Mi plan de vida está establecido. Trabaja duro.
Rayn and Lennon are two people who are focused only on their careers. When they meet, they hate each other but that hate soon turns to something else. Will they be able to see what’s in front of them ?
Very short novella but I think the content is very rich. Enemies to lovers + a cute college sports romance. I liked both characters so much that I would reread a longer version of their story –so that we have more time to get to know the characters better. Lennon was such a determined woman and I loved that about her (but Rayn was as determined as her). They just fit each other. There’s a cute scene where they are stuck at the tutoring center because of a tornado which was my favorite part of the novella.

Lennon has one thing on her mind and that is to focus on her studies, her dream is to become a dermatologist. On the side she has been working at the tutoring center in her spare time, and it is mainly athletes that she is assigned. Which is how she ends up with Rayn Trist the hopeful NFL star in the making. From the moment that they meet there is conflict and when he walks out on the first lesson, she thinks that they are done and needs to blow off some steam and heads for a night out with her friend only to share a drunken kiss with the very student who inspired the night in the first place. Could the kiss they share be the beginning of something special or is Rayn worth risking everything for?
Rayn Trist has known what he wants in life for as long as he can remember to become an NFL star and is determined to do all he can to make his dreams reality. But his grades have slipped, and his coach is threatening to bench him and that is not acceptable, which is why he finds himself in need of a tutor. Only she is unlike any tutor he has seen, she is beautiful and feisty in a way that is dangerous to his life plan, especially when he runs into her at a bar, and they share a drunken kiss. Love isn’t part of any plan so why can’t he stop thinking about Lennon, should he take a chance on love for the first time, or has he successfully managed to push Lennon away for good?
This is a fab start to a new series. I loved Lennon she was not going to be dismissed by a football player in her domain and has no problem telling him how it is, Rayn is career focused and has never had time for anything that wasn’t already part of the plan so Lennon is an obstacle he wasn’t expecting. Highly recommend all of this authors books, especially if you need an escape from reality during your lunch break. 4.5* Read
°Virgin heroine °The H is into one-night-stands °Dual POV °Insta love/lust °The same day they met he went to a bar to pick up a random girl but when he was scanning the place he saw the h, she was drunk and kissed him, if she hadn't been there he probably would've taken another girl home that night °The day after they kissed she was waiting for him to say something but he acted like it never happened so she did the same, this lasted several weeks, I assume he was celibate during that time °No OW/OM drama °Annoying immature heroine - her reaction when the H told her that he couldn't take her virginity bc football was his priority was way out of proportion, he was being honest but she was so fucking dramatic, it's not like they were dating or anything °They used condoms °No cheating or scenes with OP °HFN
All braun and no brains makes Rayn a dull boy …. at least it does if his grades keep him out of the game. It’s not that he’s lacking in the ‘smarts’ department, it’s that he just can’t see the need to waste his time studying …. or dating, or socializing or anything else unless it involves getting him to the NFL
Lennon isn’t all that different from Rayn. She too has a one track mind. Her heart is set on being the best dermatologist around and to be that she needs to ace it in college. So for Lennon it’s all studies and no play. Dating is off limits.
It’s easy to see that Rayn and Lenon are so very different… but so much alike. He’s always on the football field and she’s allaying hitting the books.
For Rayn to get to the NFL he’s got to get through college…. And for him, the gridiron now needs to be his studies. He needs a tutor and Lennon is perfect. Hmmmm, maybe a little too perfect. She’s a beautiful, nerdy bookworm, and that ‘beautiful’ part is a distraction. He has no choice but to let her tutor him. She’s his best chance of staying in the game.
You might say it’s love at first sight …. with a whole lot of complications.
🤔 OBSERVATIONS:
✒︎ 3 1/2 stars based upon this being a very short novella. For the length, it's good. I prefer more depth but again it's a short story so not much room for depth.
✒︎ Felt more like I was being told about the story rather than feeling it, being drawn into it.

Break Me by Gigi Love is a college sports romance novella. This quick read is fast-paced with a talented college athlete and brilliant college girl that fall in love. Rayn Trust is a handsome and talented young college athlete. He is on his way to being drafted into the NFL as a professional football player. He just needs to improve his grades and avoid the distraction of girls. Lennon Neil is intelligent, beautiful, and feisty. She tutors students, mostly athletes, and is assigned to Rayn. There is an instant attraction but they butt-heads on the best method to improve Rayn’s grades. He realizes that Lennon is stubborn but knows what she’s doing. Over time, Rayn’s grades improve and he realizes that he can’t live without Lennon. They find their happily-ever-after together.
This was a super sweet read that made me smile. If you’re looking for a sweet and quick sports romance novella, then Break Me is the book for you!
Break Me is a fast sports romance with a unique twist that pulls you in fast.
Ryan is focused on football, that he is letting he grades fall by the waist side. When his coach puts an ultimatum and forces him to tutoring, Ryan is willing to do what he needs to, that is until he sees Lennon.
Lennon is focused on her school and tutoring, that when Ryan walks in she is stopped in his tracks as he is not like the other jocks she worked with. Ryan has a plan, but for her it is not a good one.
The tension between Lennon and Ryan ignites a fire that is burns hot and bright. Soon Ryan realizes that Lennon is more than the distraction he thought she would be. Great fast story from start to finish.

I think this book took me about 20 mins to read, no joke. I am a speed reader but that is speedy, even for me! The reason is that it reads really fluent. It's an interesting story and one we all love, the smart one and the jock. I really liked the characters even though it's so short there is barely any character description. I don't think it needed anything like that though. Rayn is dynamic and interesting just like his name. He grows a lot in this book which just goes to display the author's talent. Gigi did really great with the main two characters. I like that Lennon is fiesty and doesn't back down. Rayn needed someone like her to open his eyes.
I would recommend this to a friend! I received a copy of this book via Booksprout for free. This review is my own personal opinion.
I don’t know why Lennon got mad at Rayn for saying that football is his priority. And then proceeded to call him asshole. They only kiss and when she tried to give her virginity to him he told her straight up about his thoughts. How is that being an asshole? He didn’t lead her on or anything he was being honest about his intentions. The fact that she talk shit about football the one thing Rayn is passionate about and loves doing shows how immature and selfish she is. It’s a good thing this is a short story or I wouldn’t finish reading it.
Rayn is focused on his dream of becoming an NFL player, but he is training so much his grades are slipping, and he is warned to get a tutor and get the grades up or he is going to be benched. Lennon is determined to keep her grades up as she wants to become a dermatologist. When Lennon becomes Rayn’s tutor, they butt heads from the very beginning, as they are as stubborn as each other. This is a fast-paced quick read, which is a sweet sports romance, and is an entertaining page turner. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ok so this story was doing really well, right up until the last chapter or so. It was doing well as a complete story, then all of a sudden within one chapter not only did all conflict get resolved in lightning speed but then there was a very hasty feeling open door scene. It was like a nine chapter hill climb followed by a one chapter fall off the cliff! The ending needed to be fleshed out more and be comparable to the rest of the book. If it had been, I’d have given it a 5 star rating.

I've read several books written by Gigi Love; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the first book in the Trist Brothers Series; it is a stand-alone short story. The story is about Lennon & Rayn; they are college students. She spends all her time studying; all he thinks about is making the NFL football team but when his grades are going to stop him from making it he needs a tutor and she’d be the best one to get.

I loved this story! I was immediately hooked into the story and the characters are likeable, relatable and I was immediately interested in their relationship. Both very focussed individuals who had their sport and studies, who dreamed of a future but decided that relationships would only get in their way. Both lonely. I loved Rayns grand gesture! Written from dual POVs reveals intimately their thoughts, feelings and emotions as they explore their relationship! There's an epilogue and a HEA 💓.
Rayn is a great football player, nothing can distract him from the field. Unfortunately, his grades have slipped and his college football career is in jeopardy. His coach enlisted Lennon to help him. She’s beautiful and smart. What will happen when she becomes the distraction he can’t ignore. This is a fast but super book.

Rayn has only one purpose which is to make it into to NFL. His coach threatens to bench him unless he gets a tutor. Lennon is the best tutor to the players and takes Rayn on. Lennon and Rayn couldn’t see eye to eye and often butt heads over his tutoring. I loved how this book was so fluid to read. Rayn and Lennon had obvious chemistry and their pairing felt natural. I really enjoyed this book!.

Their complete opposites: he’s all football and nothing else until the NHL, she’s all school with an eye to a medical future. but they’re the same in their stubbornness and fixed mind determination. They clash, they push and pull but they have to work together to save his academic side. An instalove that has depth and connection, sweetness, a coming of age and a HEA.

Rayn needs a tutor or risk his dream a career in the NFL. Lennon is the tutor for athletes and Rayn is her worst student yet. At every turn they butt heads on how to improve his grades. The attraction is instant and tangible. Rayn and Lennon have different plans for their futures. Despite that they have a happily ever after.

Break Me felt rushed, as if the characters really were driven by lust, not love. There were brief hints of Lennon and Rayn opening up. More conversation, more time together would have helped. I really like the characters, but this felt like I was just teased with an intro instead of the whole story. I look forward to more of Gigi Love's books.

I thought this was a quick OTT steamy hot novella. Rayn needed a tutor and met Lennox. He was immediately attracted to her but he didn’t want to be tempted as he is dedicated to football. Lennox is attracted to Rayn but thought he was a jerk. The chemistry between these two are sizzling, and I found this a cute read.

I really wanted to like this book. But no just no. I’ve read short books like this before but this book had like no plot. Or at least barely. They immediately fell in love which made no sense and immediately slept together. It was cliqued and just not good enough for me. I love short books and you can have one with a throughout plot but this isn’t one. If you don’t care that it’s complete cliqued and kind of makes no sense then read it. I wouldn’t recommend. 2/5
If you love short, steamy college football sports romance give this series a go.
BREAK ME Rayn and Lennon's short read. He's started failing classes and needs a tutor. So when Coach sets him up for one, he will do everything not to give into the feelings and love he is starting to feel for Lennon. Can they find a happily ever after or will it end before it starts?

Rayn was in trouble for his grades and needed a tutor. Lennon was the best, so she was hired to help him. He was such a jerk initially that she couldn't imagine helping him, but the more they worked together, the closer they got. These two were wonderful together. I loved their relationship!.

The overall story line was impeccable, I just could not stay hooked 100%. It was me, completely, that just kept drifting while reading. After walking away for a few minutes, I was able to come back and dive into the storyline. Definitely worth the read; however, because in the right hands this novel could/would be amazing.
This was a perfectly sweet romance. I loved the way it played out and I loved how the male lead in this knew right away how he screwed up and what he needed to do to fix it. I was so happy with the way it ended. I can’t wait to read another one by this same author.

This is a quick read between a football player and his tutor. I honestly thought it was adorable and wished for more. The epilogue is only 6 months out from the end of the book and I’m someone who just likes the epilogue to be further out then that. Really an overall good read.

"Danger, Danger, right over there," I loved this sweet, sassy romance. Rayn and Lennon are wonderfully matched both head strong and stubborn. I loved the journey and growth. Such a great story.

This book is an insta romance about football star Rayn and his tutor Lennon. It is a short quick read that has some hot and steamy scenes. It lacked some depth due to its length, however it was an enjoyable read.
