It's winter, and Liza, Howie, Eddie, and Melody are all snowboarding when something weird happens. There's a man who's really good at snowboarding, seems to melt all over indoors, and loves to be ice cold! Howie brings up the idea that he could be a snow monster; could it be true? Find out with the Bailey School Kids!
A good beginner's chapter book because it's several chapters long and includes some illustrations on each page to go with the story. I would keep this in my Kindergarten through 4rth grade classroom library. I liked this funny little mystery book!
A simple easy read about the little Bailey school kids trying to figure out which outsider is really a monster or not.
Although it was suspicious why Mr. Snowden had ice around in inside the store and all of that, I guess the hot chocolate warmed him up enough?
The story goes like any other story, but Eddie was just a tad more annoying than he usually is.
Although it seems like Mr. Snowden wasn't really a snow monster, I guess you can't say for sure that a snow monster wouldn't like a tasty warm chocolatey beverage.
I'm not sure this Jr version of these books was necessary, if a kid can read this book they can read any of the Bailey School Kids books. It's just a little shorter and with more pictures. That being said it wasn't bad and would be great for kids at this reading level. Wasn't a fan of the art style personally.
Genre: Fiction Mystery Grade: 2-4 This is a good easy chapter book for beginner chapter readers. There are some pictures that are black and white. It has a little mystery story line that keeps the reader interested. It has some silly parts and silly pictures.
Pretty peak, melody is excessively mean to her friends when they are in a troubling situation. Might be a symptom of a rough upbringing, her parents should seek therapy for themselves.
Read this with my lower reading group. They enjoyed it and it seemed to get them motivated to try to read more chapter books. A good use of onomatopoeia.
