Rate this book
Stressed by your spending? Always feeling like you should do more? Join Sheridan Stewart on an inspiring journey towards spending less, feeling happier and focusing on the important things. What began as a 90-Day challenge simply to spend less, becomes an exploration of what matters most . I Am Enough contemplates what it means to have enough, do enough and ultimately be enough. Told with insight and humour , this book is an antidote to the constant pressure we are under to do more, have more and be more. Busy radio presenter and broadcaster, author and mid-lifer Sheridan Stewart created the 90-Day Enough Challenge out of necessity. She had been struggling with burnout for years but couldn't find a way to break the cycle of dashing about feeling guilty about spending too much , eating too much and not being a good enough wife, friend, volunteer, work colleague and human being. Sheridan's quest to prioritise calm, self-care and what really matters in life is inspirational. The practical programme which she has created is in three parts with a detailed timeline , tips and checklists for every step of the journey. MAYBE I CAN BE ENOUGH? CHOOSE TO MAKE THE CHANGE Over the course of this journey, Sheridan learns to trust herself , and you can too by following in her footsteps on a journey towards financial and emotional happiness.

I am not normally a reader of self-improvement books, but I do like memoirs. "I Am Enough" is a bit of both, and I was joyfully surprised to find that the gestalt of the two in this book livens up each type of storytelling. Stewart's voice is authentic in recounting her own experiences and the insights and confidence that grew from them.
The format of memoir + active steps is easy to interleave into a busy "life in progress." I didn't read the book in order, and instead dipped in and out of the essays and advice, treating them like encouragement snacks. I found so many points where her insights about life after almost 60 years align with my own learning and experience (we are the same age). The suggestions for developing a personal self-healing strategy and treating one’s inward self with kindness and compassion felt as good to me as talking with my therapist. My husband is a first born like me, and when the book arrived, he read the title and said, “I think I need to read this.”
I know the author; Stewart's voice in the book echoes her warmth and vivacity IRL. I've recommended this book to my friends and anyone navigating between the pressures of external expectations and the desire to live authentically in one's own truth.

Full of wisdom, honesty, love, kindness, humour Sheridan Stewarts I am Enough.
Such a brilliant and beautiful writer.
So many moments that release tears or made me laugh out loud.
“The ceremony culminated in My Love entering the water, with the beautiful biodegradable shell that held his fathers ashes, and swimming about 20 metres away from tge boat before releasing him. The tide took the shell in a gentle arc out to sea then back past the vessel, as if doing a lap of honour, while everyone scattered handfuls of the petals and flowers over the side of the boat. Carried by the current , they formed a trail behind the shell which slowly drifted away before gracefully sinking below the surface. A fitting send - off for Brian, now forever united with the waters where he,d lived and worked.”
“ It,s only now as I write that I recall the very first time I saw a mother and calf as I stood on the beach in Maui, Hawaii, with my own mother, frangipani flowers tucked behind our ears, watching in wonder as the gentle giants exhaled in great spouts”

A 90 Day Challenge is the way forward

I love the philosophy within the book. I have enough and am enough is a balanced view as opposed to the incredibly intense high achievement culture promoted by hundreds of new age authors including the usual Tony Robbins approach.

This can work for anyone because even small incremental changes in your life can add up to a lot over 90 days. It’s not the mostly intellectually challenging work but is realistic, practical and doable.

I have yet to see if the Podcasts ever developed around the key themes of the book. I enjoyed reading the book and found its lessons inspiring.

I was looking for a book to help with my spending habits and while I can't cut out in the same way this lady did, it did open my eyes to different perspectives and other ways of going about things. It sounds very obvious but I needed to read something that would remind me to stop and think about why I was buying something and in that way it has really helped to change some of my spending patterns.

It also helped me to start writing down goals and how I'm going to achieve them and again I find it a very useful tool. I would definitely read again as a little refresher and would recommend for anyone with an open mind.

Sheridan Stewart is a writer, speaker and broadcaster for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Her debut book is a strange mix of memoir and self-help tips in a 90 day programme intended to assist the reader in pausing and reflecting on what it means to be, do and have enough. There are some valid points in the book that made me think about what is going on in my life, but the mix of actions and affirmations is quite thin and generic.

I am enough by Sheridan Stewart was a great read. It was really helpful for me to reflect along with the author on the different parts of my life, and how I can achieve more contentment with what I have, and who I am so thanks so much for this amazing book Sheridan.

Not rated as not 'read', but i dipped into sections. Whilst i DO have enough (especially books!), this book wasn't useful borrowed from the library, with the added pressure of others having 'reserved' it. One to buy, and read when I'm on the right mind-set for undertaking the challenges.

Simple, relatable and well written. Definitely a book that I will be rereading. Such good reminders about what is important in life, what to focus on and just kind to ourselves. Thank you.

One woman’s personal journey to find peace with what she has. Not particularly groundbreaking or inspiring to me.

It was really inspirational, gave me lots of positive ways to allocate my time, become more productive, and even where I could be saving money and how much care I'm putting into tasks.
