Book 2 in the series and as confident, violent and thrilling as it's predecessor. Craig Malton is a strong leading character and he is complimented by a cast of equally brilliantly drawn people from all across the Underworld spectrum.
From his right hand man all the way to daughter's of violent criminals you walk alongside these believable personalities and never feel like they are a caricature of a stereotype. Pacy and relentless as each job slowly folds into the overarching plot you are taken on a wild ride to find out who killed a major crime boss, the revenge of his almost nemesis and who is going to running Manchester by the end.
It's a story that grips and refuses to let go, knowing there are more in the series means I will be returning to these mean streets as I want to know what else Craig, Dean and Bea get up to.

Sublime. Tobin is a writer with his finger on the pulse of the Mancunian world he depicts, and with Craig Malton, he has created a misanthropic protagonist for our age.
The prose is spare and propulsive, and delivered with a deftness of vernacular and a natural sense of verisimilitude.
Rich is social themes and realistic characters, this series is one to watch.

Wow! Sam Tobin has written a blinder with this one. A brilliant gangland thriller, set in Manchester, filled with realistic, menacing characters, an original plot and plenty of action. I have a soft spot for Craig Malton too! What more can I say, apart from fans will love it. Another easy 5* read from me. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

I started this book with great excitement, Great gangland thriller set in Manchester what more could you ask for?
But there were a lot of characters that I struggled with and also the quick change from one character to another left me a bit confused.
There was plenty of action, but it didn't grip me like others I have read.

Another stonker of a read. I read the first book by this author earlier in the year and absolutely loved it. As soon as saw this one was available to read i was thrilled.
I didn't even read the synopsis as I'd enjoyed the first one so much i knew i wanted to read this one regardless.
What can I say, Sam Tobin is a name to watch out for, This author is going to be big in this genre and readers are going to love the books.
A superb gritty gangland thriller.
Some brilliant characters and a storyline that will have you hooked. Based in and around Manchester I enjoyed knowing some of the places that were featured in this book, I always think it adds to the visualisation of the read when places are familiar.
A fresh storyline that will will have you hooked from the start.
