Absolutely loved Oscar! Some of my favorite all time favorite heroes have been on the (autism) spectrum and I knew Oscar wouldn't let me down :) Oscar is definitely the brother I've been waiting for. His propensity for rigidity, saying inappropriate things, not liking to be touched, and it hasn't been a secret that he's a fan of a very specific kind of smexy time, lol. When his usual sub goes on vacation, a very different kind of girl take her place. She's a sub IN the bedroom, but pushes every single one of his buttons outside of it, forcing Oscar to reassess what he wants versus what he needs. Great story, wonderful characters, and super hot smexy - you just can't ask for more!

I was patiently waiting for Oscar’s story and BJ Alpha did not disappoint. She gave Oscar life, painstakingly providing the image of someone dealing with Autism and trying their best to live and survive with the idiosyncrasies and differences of this person. Paige is so remarkable in her perseverance and tenacity of making Oscar crash through his walls and barriers.
Some scenes were very sensuous and passionate and others scenes were raw and very real, giving this reader so many emotions and feelings that I felt like I was witnessing and living the story with the characters.
BJ Alpha has written a series worthy of 6 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oscar's story is finally here!
And what a story!
It is emotional, steamy but so heartfelt read. It is filled with kinks and all the BJ Alpha goodness.
Once you start, you will not be a able to put it down!
Oscar is autistic. He does things in a certain way. He is over the top and needs control in everything. He is a multilayered character and amazing.
Paige is different and I loved her. She gives up control but takes charge when needed. And is so patient with Oscar. Paige is the perfect fit for him.
Their interactions are so good.
I love the family dynamic of Oscar's family. Reece is a little devil but he also made me cry. I wanted to hug him.
BJ Alpha gave Oscar the story he deserved and made us understand him. I thank her for that.
Next up are Con's novella and Reece! Oh his story will be something else... He is already a naughty scene stealer!

Wowsers! BJ Alpha has done it again, but this time she's done it even better! A wonderfully crafted story that looked at difference and fitting in and family from a totally different lens.
The end had me in tears, but was perfect. And make sure you download the bonus epilogue!

I love chemistry between Oscar and Paige. What was supposed to be a simple job for Paige, for Oscar was a lovely challenge. They were so “in sync” in the bedroom, but outside needed some working.
Through the whole book Paige and Oscar’s relationship developed. They were each others missing pieces of “different”. Carefully pushed limits to have their happy ever after, even tho they had to take some steps back in the process.

worse and worse
Who DNFs a book at 94%? Me. Thats who. That “plot twist” was horrible. There was no build up. Nothing. It was completely out of left field. And not in a good way. Usually with plot twists there is some sort of build up to it.
This author, the guys just keep getting worse and worse though the series. And the girls are complete doormats.

I don’t think I have the right words to describe how much I love Oscar’s story.
Out of all of the O’Connell brothers, Oscar is the one that I have been desperate for and that desperation was dated when Oscar landed in my kindle yesterday.
My mind was divided, I wanted to devour yet savour him and I knew that he would be so special, I was not wrong!
Oscar is the fifth book in the Secrets And Lies series by BJ Alpha and as the title suggests concentrates on Oscar O’Connell. The brother that has always been different, his own belief and that of others, this is due to him being on the Autism spectrum.
He needs control in every aspect of his life. Oscar uses an escort service which gives him this, along with his trusted manual, that is until his usual woman doesn’t turn up, instead Paige bulldozes in and has a complete disregard for his manual. From this point on Oscar not only craves control, he craves Paige.
Getting to know more about Oscar was amazing, he takes you on an emotional rollercoaster and you get to delve deep into him and who he is, this includes flashbacks of his childhood (some heartbreaking scenes)
As with all the O’Connell brothers it takes a special kind of woman to be with them and Paige is no exception, she is a strong female lead; tough when she needs to be and soft and compliant with Oscar when needed.
You get to experience Oscar try and navigate a relationship, something which he has never had before. You get to see him wanting to be more for Paige and try to be normal, but all Paige wants is him.
The book has me sobbing in parts and as with all of this series you get the rest of the family with lots of fun and laughter.
The book is spicy and has BDSM, knife play, praise kink, stalker vibes and a jealous/possible hero. The sex scenes are beyond hot!
If I could give this book more than 5 stars believe me I would!

A little emotional over this one, it’s the last in the series (we also have a novella coming which I’m so excited for Groomzilla Con I’m here for it) and honestly Oscar has been the character I’ve needed to know more about. He sits in the shadows ensuring his brothers and the family runs smoothly but he is ‘different’, and being in the mafia this is seen as a weakness by his elders who tried to ‘fix’ him causing him to retreat into himself.
As a highly functioning autistic adult Oscar has traits which unless you know him, he can come across a abrasive but in reality he has been told for so long that he isn’t normal and can’t feel emotions that he has come to believe it himself. When it comes to his sexual preferences he is as dominant as they come he doesn’t like to be touched and he will only be with women from his club, and when Paige enters his life as his new woman everything is flipped for him. She is submissive in the bedroom but outside she tests him at every turn pushing his boundaries and surprising to Oscar he likes it, he wants to change and be the man she deserves but he is stuck in his head.
Congratulations Becky on another amazing book, we get both POVs and the banter from the family still makes a large part of this series giving the story to depth and heart it needs, but as Becky has proven time and time again the spice in this book is HOT there is no slow burn and Oscar consumed every part of me. I loved the sprinkling of hints of a romance brewing for Reece because that boy has been a prominent character since the start we all NEED his love story.

We don’t think we have ever read so many smexy scenes in one book, the book has to hold the world record!!.. if you’re just here for the smut, then this is definitely the book for you.
Paige is a great heroine she came across strong and amazing in this book. Was slightly confused about this random secret she all of a sudden had.
The storyline or lack of storyline was abit confusing throughout this book until about 80% in and then we finally got a bit of grit and less porn. But then everything happened to fast and it was over 🤷🏻♀️
Our favourite scene though involved 2 fish and a bowl 🥰
On a side note, if you’ve read the rest of the series, then you would of met sky in brens book, We are not sure what happened between that book and this book that turned her into a child!
Totally apprehensive about Reece’s book which is next.. this series started out so strong, but the last 2 books just haven’t hit the mark for us.

WOW! I love this author's writing as she makes my dark & twisty heart sing, but I have to say that she's surpassed all expectations with Oscar. See, Oscar is autistic, which has his own set of issues that's for sure as he has to control everything to do it his own way. Paige is a woman who is his perfect fit, but the journey isn't easy of course, and that's all I'll say about that. The moment I opened this book up, I was down for the count until every last page was devoured so I ignored all things life (no husband & grown kids living their life in their own houses definitely helped) as I was submerged into this world like I was there in person. There are triggers so please take that into account before reading it, but for those like me with very few, yeah, don't pass on this one since there's heat (& kink), twists, and darkness with an emotional kicker to round it out. I loved the fact that Oscar is unlike any MMC that I've experienced! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Well I've read all of BJ Alpha's books and enjoyed following the family in Secrets and Lies and I wasn't sure what to expect with Oscar's book. But.... WOW I cant quite put into words how well the subject of autism has been dealt with and opened my eyes to it in adulthood ad the impact it can have on an individual with simple things you can take for granted. Feeling love and being loved, being touched and wanting to be 'normal' (whatever that is) It truly blew me away.
Oscar is such a gently soul underneath it all and just want to feel and be loved and Paige is definitely the girl for him. A couple of twists and turns as always through the secrets and lies series and plenty of emotion poured from me...especially over a fish tank! who would have thought!

This book brought more than just Oscar to light… the fact that BJ made Oscar such a pinnacle character and made sure he had such an imperative role in the O’Connell family was amazing.
I knew Oscar was special from the beginning of the series, but his character development and growth in this book was absolutely heart wrenching. Knowing people with his affliction made this book even more real and more heart warming… and Paige being such a strong FMC was what was needed to pull him from his own shadows.
This was an amazing story and I really hope BJ writes about Reece now! We need his story soon!

Oh Oscar! I'm so happy you left the shadows and came into the light. You deserved it so much after being treated differently as the family weirdo and living in the sidelines even though you were an integral part of the family business. (though Reece really takes the weirdo /nutty cake!) I want to know his story!
I loved the entire series... What an intense read in different ways with all the brothera! The love and loyalty within the family with the infamous chaotic family dinners had me both cringing and laughing.

As excited as all the rest of the Reckless Readers, I am so proud to be one of few trusted ARC readers. This story is probably the 2nd most anticipated from BJ (followed only by Reece's). Oscar is such an enigma. Smart, strong, caring, and loving, yet doesn't believe he deserves or can give love. Enter the spitfire redhead
that slowly reveals his emotional capabilities to himself. BJ handles his situation with careful respect while still allowing him to be the smokin hot dominant man he is. Paige is no pushover seems to innately know how to let him find who he is with the patience of a Saint. You can, as long as there's love. Kudos Bj, job well done. Totally worth the wait!

Definitely by far my favourite book of the series!!
The amount of hurdles Oscar had to over come to final be with his girl was amazing and doing it together!!
My heart when his Da finally excepted him for who he is just as he died had my crying 😭

what a book, Oscar broke my heart i though Con book was a hard read but Oscar my god i felt like crying when we find out about his youth.
Paige character is sassy loved how she challenges Oscar but that twist didn’t see that coming. loved the whole series even Bren redeems himself. definitely a book and series to read

wonderful Mafia Romance
Ok this is book 5 of this series and it is the last book. I loved it, only now I want more. So I am going to get the STORM Enterprises books. 😂 if you like smutty Mafia Romance with Butt Stuff and spanking, you will love this series. My recommendation is to start with book 1

Ok ok. So I Stan HARD for BJ Alpha and the whole Secrets and Lies series. But, Oscar might have tipped me over an edge of no return. There are 5 O’Connell brothers and each one is hot in his own way. But Oscar? Oscar is a fire-breathing, hotter than the surface of the sun kinda hot. Oscar is a perfectly imperfect man. He knows it, Paige knows it - they just need to figure it out together. Paige is exactly what Oscar needs. She’s smart, strong, doesn’t hold back and isn’t afraid of him. For all the heat (and there is plenty), there are some incredibly tender and heart-wrenching moments (my eyes leaked a little), there is hilarity at the O’Connell family dinner table (thank you Reece). So if you’re looking for a series that’ll grab you, hold you tight and get you all warmed up - Secrets and Lies is it. Cal, Con, Finn, Bren and Oscar make up the O’Connell brothers. Paige and Oscar were explosive. Being autistic, Oscar is different from his brothers and uses BDSM to calm his out of control urges. He doesn't have people skills, his has sensory sensitivity and he doesn't like being touched.
Paige was a patient woman. Although I couldn't understand why she would take a job acting as an escort for Oscar and then get mad when he would remind her that he was paying her to be at his beck and call. Some would say Paige and Oscar's relationship was toxic because of his detachment everytime he was intimate with Paige.
Oscar has always did his part in protecting family but he always went back into the shadows. Oscar always questioned his place and purpose feeling that he never really measured up. It wasn't until the woman he realized he loved was in danger than Oscar rose from the shadows permanently to show everyone exactly what he was made of.

I am utterly obsessed with this series of books and each of the brothers. Oscar is definitely my favourite brother and this book has made me fall completely head over heels in love!
