this was a strong sequel in the Origin of Evil series, it does what I was looking for from the previous book. The characters were what I was expecting and it had what I was looking for from Caroline Angel. Caroline Angel's writing is really well done and I enjoyed what I read.

A worthy sequel to the excellent Origin of Evil. Cleverly weaving the past and present, Beginnings gives insight into the fascinating history of the characters as well an epic monster hunt in modern times.
This is an amazing sequel - so well written I couldn't stop reading. Finally got some sleep after 4am but kept dreaming about it! It's that good, really gets the imagination rolling. I love the way we go from modern day and the hunt for Angie, the fight with the evil Pretzel guys (no they're not really called that) and the story told concurrently with the ancient history of gods and demons, angels, monsters, dungeons and betrayal. I cannot wait for #3, desperate to know what happened to (spoiler- I can't say!) and see if Angie starts to trust her Guardians again. I wish this was a series on TV like game of thrones or something, it would be awesome to watch after I've read it!!!
