Carl Weber's Kingpins: Queens

Rate this book
It’s 1999, and Sincere has finished his tour in the United States Army. He’s come back home just in time to find his little brother, Maurice, taking his place in the streets.

Maurice is hanging out with Drip-Drip and Voltron. The trio commits a home invasion on a stash house belonging to Zulu and executes the occupants inside. Unbeknownst to them, they’ve left behind a survivor who’s seen one of their faces.

Sincere is trying to put the pieces of his life back together. Still, when he finds out that his little brother was involved in the deadly home invasion, Sincere knows the streets will sacrifice his little brother next. Sincere refuses to allow that to happen. With the help of his old friend, Nasir, and his military training, Sincere goes to war with two kingpins, where the odds are firmly against him.
While the street war breaks out, a serial killer known as the Wolf is kidnapping and killing young prostitutes in Queens. Detectives Acosta and his partner, Emerson, are investigating the murders. Why are the two kingpins so intent on keeping the identity of this serial killer a secret?

Erick S. Gray brings his unique flair to the Kingpins series. It's dog eat dog as men fight to become king of kings on the streets of Queens.

Excellent book, intriguing!!

I believe this might be the first time I have read a book by this author but I am telling you it captured my attention. Sincere, Sincere, you have to let revenge go. I understood why Nazir left town. The writer developed the serial killer's angle and who would have thought who the serial killer's brother was. Imagine my surprise at that one. Drip Drip was only for himself and look what happened to him. All of the characters in this story were on point. I can't wait for part 2 to be released.

My 1st book of the Kingpins series and it was a banger. Sincere comes home from the army and finds his brother in the same streets he left to escape. But Maurice ain't really about that life but he gets mixed up with the wrong dudes to do foul stuff. After he gets killed as a result of it, it sends Sincere on a killing spree to avenge his brother. But he's not the only one doing alot of killing. Christopher is killing prostitutes to feed his urges. Read the book to see what else is going on. I'm on to another borough in the series.

Craziness - Which A Twist Of Drama!!!!

Something told me that the WOLF & MOB ALLAH was related, but their life styles was different/same at the same time. I hate that Sincere had to lose his family over his family, Nasir was a punk cuz he wants the title but didn't want to put the work in to get it ...... Continue On To QUEENS 2!!!!!

Kingpins

This was an easy read. Action through the end of the story. Although one story line didn't quite fit in with the main story.

Audio - overdrive

It’s been awhile since I’ve read Carl’s books. As usual, very action packed and fast paced. I do think there were too many players. I almost needed a family tree of some sort.

I will also say that I was not expecting it to be so savage and dark. I had to fast forward through a few of them.

I’m not sure if I’ll continue to read the series or not but will consider it.
