Moshe Katz brings us his guide to creativity in his latest book. As an aspiring writer I was instantly drawn to it and dug into the book as a means to better my own hobbies. Filled with wonderful illustrations and diagrams, you get a visual inspiration between each chapter that is as rewarding as the text itself.
I found the parts that really spoke to me was about embracing the extreme, taking those chances and really driving to do more than you think you are capable of. I also felt the impact of his discussion on pride and ego. I found that the two, extreme and ego, balance each other out in a way that pushes us forward while keeping us humble in our achievements. I really found this as a good guide to unleash some of the potential I hope that I have, and look forward to putting it into practice.
Any creative types out there could do with a good reinforcement, and this book is it.
Did you know that creativity can enhance pretty much every aspect of your life? Did you know that you can train yourself to be creative, or more creative? Moshe Katz, the author of “Into Creativity” shows us how both of these things are true, and how we can incorporate creativity into our lives even more than we already do (and yes, all of us have creativity, even those who think they don’t have one creative bone in their body). As an award-winning architect, the author is very familiar with creativity and well-placed to deepen our understanding of it. In addition to the important subject matter, the book is well-written—something that cannot always be said of non-fiction, even when it has valuable content—and contains some of Moshe Katz architectural drawings and sketches, which is a lovely touch. Highly recommended.
I really enjoyed reading Moshe Katz’s insights about creativity. I totally agree with the author that creativity is our responsibility towards the world and ourselves. Moshe’s background is in architecture and says that even architecture should meet people’s spiritual, emotional, and psychological needs before its functional ones, I also agree with the author’s statement that society is responsible for individual’s creativity through encouraging culture and collective expressions of arts. Without this encouragement, creativity would not be able to thrive. Whether you feel like you are a creative person or not, you should pick up this book to see that you definitely are.
What an enjoyable book! In this wonderful work, Moshe Katz lays out his perspective on his glorious childhood experiences that led him into a life full of wonder and creativity. In writing this book, his wish for the reader was that the reader not only realize the potential they have inside, but the perspective on their life’s experiences, which are not their only face value reality. This was such an inspiring piece! As a child, Moshe often lived in different countries. He was a creative child who drew from everyday exercises. He didn’t just learn lessons, but had an attitude where everything that touched his senses was an unfolding story. He used these perspectives in his artistic lifestyle. This was such a great inspirational work of art!
This book is a well-designed guide for those have either always felt like they have creative talent, and also for those who feel like they have potential for creative talent but aren’t sure where it begins. It’s a motivational book that will guide artists to express themselves and allow that inner creativity that they may not even know they possess to shine. I specifically liked how the book explained that creativity is not necessarily just crafty abilities, but goes so much further into all aspects of life. If you’re looking for a new book that will inspire you to find more in yourself and reach some further potential, this is a great recommendation to add to your list.
Amazing, amazing and amazing! This book says everything everyone should ever read/hear, but such advice is rarely passed on. Thinking outside the box is fine, it's good, and it can be a great way to improve. Moshe Katz is the author of Into Creativity: Choose to re-design your life, a book with the aim of stimulating and feeding the imagination of readers. The writer raises the imagination and creativity as the engine that drives and improves any activity that we develop. It was moving to read about his experiences that led him to be an artist. Moreover, I think it is not only for painters and draftsmen, but for anyone who, regardless of their area of work, wants to stand out. Sincerely, I loved it.
For all the artistic minds out there, this might be an interesting book. I think it appeals to all kinds of artists; painters and even poets. It encourages readers to tap into their creative mind and truly realise what matters to them and how it reflects in their art work. It's written in a simple way and I think anyone could read it, not just artists. The book inspires artists to take the plunge and redesign their lives by tapping into their inner selves. If you're looking to read something over the weekend, then this is probably a good choice. The author has written the book in a way that anyone can pick it up and read through it, it's easy and approachable.
I loved this book and almost everything about it. First the author explains his interesting backstory of how his parents moved to different countries growing up. He was able to cope with humor and drawing. His drawings are throughout the book and they’re beautiful. You don’t usually see things like that anymore. He also explains how this journey inspired him to be an architect. This was a very inspirational and interesting read.
I'm a naturally creative mind, but I'm always looking into new ways to see and do things. One of the most fascinating things is being able to pick other people's brains about their thought processes. This book does that too, on paper! So no matter if you only remember certain parts, you can always go back and reread it. There are several topics that can apply to many different professions and give growth in areas you may have stagnated or hit a wall before.
