A poet's essay collection is usually written in a poetic language . This one is somehow an exception as the essays in the longest first section are written in a heartfelt but decidedly nonlyrical language, on the issues and problems of the education system (the author is also a teacher). Writing with more flair can be found in the shorter sections but for these sections, each piece can be relatively short and verging on the mythical.
It's still a worthwhile read but I can't shake the feeling the author has omitted so much owed to his occupation.
