A trip to overseas would be a great idea, as long as it didn’t include a stop in Scotland. He’d do a lot to visit his brother, but he could cheerfully never see the woman he used to love at the same time. But somehow an American War Dog was shipped overseas and Badger tagged him for the job. Arriving home for the first time in five years is a challenge but nothing has changed. Liam, his middle brother is full of and his younger brother Angus appears to still be a lightweight. There’s nothing he could say about his relationship with his mother. But Ainsley now she’s a different story. She’s still the same beautiful woman he left behind.
Ainsley hopes seeing Kascius again can help heal the rift that still stops her from moving forward in life. She’d been in a bad place back then and had regretted the way they split but finding forgiveness, although it might be possible, doesn’t look likely.
Only his arrival sets off a chain reaction that leaves her under the suspicion of murder as her world imploded in a chaotic nightmare. Between dog fighting, gambling, and murder… the two of them have their hands full keeping Ainsley out of prison, and Kascius alive… then there’s the fate of the war dog, Beamer, on his shoulders as well…

Heated words, misunderstandings and hidden motives

There is a lot going on in this book and we are collecting puzzle pieces throughout, without even realising it. The final picture is much bigger, darker and more twisted than anyone could have imagined and shows you that sometimes you never really know who people are....you only get to see the person they show you.
Kascius thought he had lived through the nightmares and escaped, but returning home not only opens old wounds but brings forward a whole new set of nightmares. Kascius and Ainsley both seem like quite cold and detached characters initially and it is difficult to see them together, however as the secrets are uncovered and the duplicitous actions of others are uncovered, we slowly get to see the real Kascius and Ainsley emerge and they are actually a very sweet couple. They both acknowledge that they acted defensively in the past, they have both matured, grown and learnt more about themselves in their years apart. But most importantly, they both still love each other and realise they must forgive the past and look forward to their future.

There's a missing war dog in Scotland, the adopting family had moved there right after getting the dog bring him with them. Unfortunately, once they arrived the dog went missing, that was two weeks ago. Badger has two men working for him, cousins, Kascius and Karl, both from Scotland and Kascius is willing to help find dogs. He just never expected to go home to find it.

He arrives in Scotland to be greeted enthusiastically by his brother Liam, who also informs him that his ex, Ainsley is his mother's nurse. While that seems out of character from the woman he remembers, Kascius is fine with it. When he left to go to American and joined the military there, he had to end that relationship.

The homecoming is interesting to say the least, his sister-in-law Emily is delighted to see him, his brother Angus, the youngest is irritating, Ainsley his ex, reserved, and his mam, who has severe dementia didn't remember him at all and she doesn't have much longer to live. It really seems the family issues are far more than meets the eye.

We get a glimpse of Ainsley's relationship with her sister at the beginning of this as well. That seems to be a difficult one as well. She also still has feelings for Kascius and isn't sure how to handle them. This uncertainty is because she made a big mistake by going out just once with his brother Angus after they broke up.

Kascius' first priority is to find Beamer, the war dog. he returned to the airport and meets with Henry the cargo manager. He wants to speak with the dog's handler here at the airport, but first he once again contacts the adoptive family. What he learns is very different from the initial story and Henry also informs him of the outstanding fees owed. It's Terry who answers the biggest question though, apparently, he sold Beamer after he was let out of the cage. Now Kascius has to locate the dogfighting ring and get the dog out. This is going to open a whole new can of worms.

As a mystery unfolds with regards to his mother's medication, Kascius with the cooperation of the police is about to join them on a raid of the suspected dog fighting property. Not only do they find the war dog but many more as well, effectively shutting down the ring. It's as they are settling that Kascius learns of his mother's death and Ainsley's arrest.

With Ainsley out on bail, and his sister-in-law in the hospital, Kascius turns his attention to the war dog. There's a bond between him and an injured dog and he wants to take both of them. Plus he needs to do what he can to prove Ainsley's innocence.

Holy Moly! This book couldn't be put down, everything happens so quickly, and the suspense just ramps up higher and higher.

I really can't wait to see what Dale has in mind for the next book in this series.

Kascius & Ainsley

This installment of the K-9 Files has more than a little meat! It’s diabolical, sneaky, mysterious, dangerous, and heartfelt, all in one!

Kascius’s relationship and affection for his younger brother, Liam and Liam’s wife, Emily, is so true. He has always loved his brother and supported him regardless of the family dynamics. His relationship with his youngest brother, Angus, is not as heartfelt as he hoped. Angus was spoiled and favored by both his parents which causes tension in the family. I sympathize with Kascius as he struggles to connect with his ailing Mam and to come to terms with the way his father divvied up the family assets including the family farm which ended up casting Kascius out. As a young man, the kind of treatment Kascius’s father delivered out would have and did cut him deep which made Kascius react accordingly, he left.

Present day, Kascius’s search for the War Dog, Beamer, starts to gain momentum and several things start colliding at once. When the clues start coming in, they take a dangerous turn that Kascius has to get in the middle of. His life has immediately become very confusing and emotional memories have rushed to the forefront of his mind. He has to keep his mind on the clues surrounding the situation with Beamer before he loses track of him. I enjoyed reading how Kascius was able to pivot and give his entire attention to the imminent situation with Beamer as well as when he is needed at home, he manages to focus and give that all his attention too.

In the middle of everything, Kascius is finding himself having to navigate his relationship, both past and present, with Ainsley. She is right in the middle of the situation with his Mam which he finds unsettling. Ainsley has had many years of wondering about Kascius to reconcile her thoughts around. He is no longer the man she thought he was and his reasons for leaving are so much more than she could ever imagine.

This exciting story has many interesting facets, each one twisting and turning all involved into a turbulent scenario. This story tugs at your heart in so many ways and the ending chapters have you on the edge of your seat. A very satisfying conclusion and so heartfelt. Great story!

This is the twentieth book in Dale Mayer's "The K9 Files", I have loved them all but this is probably my favourite so far.
When Kascius Lamond was called into Badger's office and offered a job, it was a job that he couldn't refuse. Badger had a team who were voluntarily searching for war dogs that had been retired but had gone off the radar.
Scottish Kascius had lost a limb whilst serving with the US navy, the missing dog, Beamer, had been shipped, by his adopted family, to Scotland where he had disappeared. Kascius knew that at some point he had to return to his roots to try to build some bridges, he and his middle brother, Liam, had been close, his younger brother, Angus, not so much. Angus thought that the world owed him a living and he played on the fact that he was their mother's favourite, their mother was ill, dementia was taking her mind but she still remembered that she hated Kascius, and then there was Ainsley, the woman that he had loved, the woman that he had crossed an ocean to forget........except he didn't forget.
As this story unfolds it uncovers the most convoluted two familied, intertwined with lies, deceit, corruption, the sad childhood and hatred of a small boy who didn't want to be a farmer, the work ethic of Liam trying to keep the farm afloat and Ainsley, still as beautiful as ever, hired to nurse their mother, Ainsley who would be accused of murder, Kascius's fight to find the injured war dog and the danger that he faced along the way and lastly, Ainsley and Kascius working together to repair the past and get their HEA. This story has so many twists and turns, it is a real page turner,.

Kascius and Ainsley grew up together in Scotland. As they grew up, they fell in love. They only separated when Kascius joined the Scottish army.

Unfortunately, Kascius returned to many problems and complications. He and his parents had a humongous falling out, that they threw him out of the house. Meanwhile, Kascius and Ainsley also had a huge disagreement. Most of their problem was caused by misunderstandings and miscommunication. As a result of all of this turmoil, Kacius relocated to the United States and, without a word to anyone, he joined the American army. He never spoke to his parents or Ainsley since then.

Ainsley blamed herself since she was unaware of his issues with his parents.

Five years later, Kacius returns to Scotland to find a missing retired war dog. His father is dead, his mother is sick, and has dementia. Ainsley was her long-term hospice nurse.

Kacius is still estranged from his mother, his younger brother and Ainsley. He is only on good terms with his middle brother Liam, who inherited the family farm, and his wife. Ainsley is unaware that Kacius and his parents had a huge argument. Thus, she has always blamed herself for Kacius’ estrangement.

Dale Mayer has created an awesome plot that is very complex and unbelievably riveting. The action starts immediately and never stops. This book has so many twists and turns, the reader will feel has blindly jumped on a roller coaster ride with no idea where they were going. The author goes out of her way to confuse her readers with a lot of dead ends and false clues. It is impossible to differentiate between the “good guys” and the “bad guys.”

The best part of the story is the amazing surprise ending that is both unexpected and very shocking!

This is a story of reconnection, redemption and reconciliation not only between two former lovers, but also between two brothers. Kascius and Ainsley were once sweethearts until the death of her brother, his family dynamics and his military career caused a rift between them and he left. Now years later, he is back in Scotland, visiting family while looking for a lost War Dog. Ainsley is now his ailing mother’s nurse and his family is just as dysfunctional as it has always been. The only family members who welcome Kascius home are his brother and sister-in-law. He does his best to control the memories of his past in the family home, the resentment and anger they foster, and to avoid his mother’s nurse, the woman he has never forgotten. His homecoming fosters a welcome reconciliation with his brother, clarity with Ainsley and finding the War Dog who deserves a wonderful life in retirement after his loyal service. Rebuilding a relationship with Ainsley no longer seems impossible, at least until she is accused of murder.

This story is twisty, enthralling and hard to put down. Both Kascius and Ainsley are stubborn, strong-willed people dedicated to helping others and the careers in service. Misunderstandings, pride and doubts forced them apart, but the heart wants what the heart wants, and their hearts want each other. This time they will have to fight for a future together.

The pain of miscommunication and misdirection

Kascius Lamond is former military. Having dual citizenship, he's fought for both the Scottish and American services, until he was injured. He's back in Scotland searching for a missing American War Dog, Beamer. Kascius is also taking this as an opportunity to reconnect with his relatively dysfunctional family from whom he's been estranged for over ten years. He finds not much has changed at home, except his ex-girlfriend now works for his family as his mother's hospice nurse. Ainsley has been through horrific times losing her soldier brother after caring for him at home. She's been living with her only sister in their childhood home after the death of their parents and brother, Angus. Now Kascius must face his demonic mother and narcissistic youngest brother, Angus, while trying to reconnect with his reasonable middle brother, Liam, and his lovely, and very pregnant, wife, Emily. Although this trip started as a search for a war dog with a family reunion on the side, it soon becomes apparent that Kascius is faced with criminal activity, lies, deception, violence and police bureaucracy for his efforts. Complicated intrigue keeps the reader guessing, with plenty of twists and turns. The key is the relationship Kascius and Ainsley form throughout this adversity. They discover how much they were tricked all those years ago, and now through maturity, experience and truth their love becomes tantamount to their future.

Much More than Hunting for a Missing War Dog
OMG! Kascius Lamond has come home to Scotland to find a missing War Dog and visit with his family. It’s a real hardship for Kascius because most of them HATE him. Kascius is a wonderful man who deserves kindness and love, while most of his family ranks really high on the nasty scale. Thank God he has his sweet hard working middle brother Liam and Liam’s pregnant wife Emily who are thrilled to see him.
Liam’s younger brother Angus is a real piece of spoiled narcissistic evil but Mama loves him to pieces. Speaking of Mama, she is in deep dementia and has Ainsley, a Nurse provider looking after her. Ainsley happens to be Kascius’s ex and they didn't end well. Kascius does his best to ignore Ainsley…for a while.
Looking into the circumstances under which Beamer, the War Dog, went missing doesn’t add up. It looks like right from the plane landing in Scotland Beamer was sold into a dog fighting ring. You will be shocked to read about what happened to Beamer AND the criminal events happening around the Lamond family. I could not put this story down. Sleep? Who needs sleep when the intrigue just keeps building? I loved this story! I received a free advanced copy of this story from Booksprout and am happy to share my thoughts. Linda

This is book twenty in The K-9 Files series and it is Kascius and Avery’s story. When Kascius is given the job to find Beamer who is a war dog and had gone missing but Kascius knew that he was up for the challenge regardless of his disability but imagine his surprise when his mission takes him to Scotland which is where his mother and brothers live and he hasn’t been back there for five years due to the fact that the woman he loved still lives there. Ainsley is a nurse and is taking care of Kascius mother who has dementia and Ainsley is hoping that there will come a time when she can see and talk to Kascius again so that she can hopefully get forgiveness and closure. There are twists and turns along with danger, lies, corruption, suspense, drama, secrets, hatred, hope, forgiveness and situations that will have you turning the pages while on the edge of your seat. When Ainsley is accused of murder it will take Ainsley and Kascius working together to try and solve the mystery and clear her name but will this eventually give them a second chance of happiness and a future together once they eliminate the threat and also overcome their past mistakes. I absolutely loved this book and series and I can’t wait to read more in the future.

Kascius returns home to Scotland, something he never thought he would do because when he left it was not a happy time. His father disappointed that he didn't want to run the family farm cuts him out of the will and his mother hates him. But his mission is to find Beamer, a war dog that was adopted by a family in the US right before they moved to Scotland. When the plane landed the dog disappeared. So Kascius combines his search for Beamer with a family reunion of sorts. The only ones happy to see him are his brother Liam and his wife, Emily. His brother Angus and his mom not so much. To make things more difficult the woman nursing his mother is his old flame, Ainsley. When Kascius chose to become a soldier, Ainsley was not happy because of what her brother went through. Talk about disfunctional. This story is so twisty that it kept me wondering what was going to happen next.
I loved Kascius, his calmness in the face of adversity was really wonderful. He was so steadfast in his concern for Beamer, his family and Ainsley that I think he is my favorite of this series so far. I really love this series. Looking forward to the next one.

Kascius travels to Scotland to look for a missing war dog which also lets him reconnect with his two younger brothers (the middle one works hard on the farm and the youngest is a lightweight and does nothing) and his sick mother who has dementia. He also has to face his old love Ainsley who is in a better place now and is actually working as a nurse to his mother. His arrival sets off a chain reaction that leaves her under suspicion of murder as her world imploded in a chaotic nightmare. Between dog fighting, gambling, and murder… the two of them have their hands full keeping Ainsley out of prison, and Kascius alive… then there’s the fate of the war dog, Beamer, on his shoulders as well…

I enjoyed this story of the intrigue as to who was really the bad person in this scenario and what had happened in the past. Lots of emotional analysis and the whole whodunnit around his mother, brothers and Ainsley. Some of it was obvious and some was a total surprise. An emotional trip for him with a sad conclusion that gave him some happiness. Easy to read, feel and understand.

I am definitely enjoying the K9 Files series. I thought Kascius' story was really entertaining. I did not expect it to be such a journey.

There were so many twists and turns in this story it was unbelievable. The search for Beamer was one thing. That started out strangely with the War Dog being lost in Scotland.

It seemed like Kascius was surrounded by family drama. All of it stemming from the past, and occurring anew while trying to untangle the web of deception surrounding Beamer.

I was gobsmacked by what was going on in both Kascius and Ainsley's families. I had suspicions, but would have never gone down the path that led to the conclusion of the whole mess. I was glad Kascius had such a good relationship with his brother Liam.

This was an entertaining romantic suspense, light on the romance. It had some action, danger, intrigue, drama, and a pretty interesting whodunit. I was glad Kascius, Ainsley, Liam and Emily ended up with their HEA. I am looking forward to the next K9 File Badger and Kat assign. I am also curious about Timber.

After years away from his home in Scotland, US military vet, Kascius, is returning home in search of a lost American War Dog, Beemer. He'll also spend time with his critically ill mother during her last days, as well as deal with the fallout of his abrupt departure. Strengthening relationships with his brothers is high on his list, but he hopes to avoid running into the girl he left behind.

Except his first love, Ainsley, is caregiver to his mother and spends every day in the family home. Avoiding each other is, well, unavoidable, and the more they talk the more they find things are not as they appear and there are secrets to unravel. As Kascius digs into Beemer's disappearance, things at his family home fall apart with his mother's death.

The K-9 Files is one of my favorite series, and this one had me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought things couldn’t get worse for these characters, along comes another jaw-dropping twist. This compelling, riveting, heartfelt romantic suspense has something to satisfy every reader, and you'll find it impossible to put down!

Kascius is originally from Scotland so when a War Dog goes missing over there he is given an opportunity to go home. He is estranged from his family so going home is difficult. This was one of those times where there were other people who were just as upset about the missing dog as Kascius. While tracking down the missing War Dog he has some overdue conversations with his family which are compounded by his ex-girlfriend who is working as the nurse for his dying mom. When he tracks down Beamer he finds him protecting another dog from a dog fighting ring. You have to love that these War Dogs are all protective of other people and dogs! As Kascius tries to mend fences with his family, his mom dies and his ex-girlfriend is accused of her murder. Things spiral from there. A lot of misinformation and lies told by his youngest brother to stir up trouble doesn’t help. It was so nice to see people actually talking and listening to each other to try and work through their misunderstandings.

Kascius left home 5 years ago, he didn’t want to take over the family farm and his father made it clear he wasn’t welcome to stay. Kascius also stayed away since he couldn’t face Ainsley, the ex-girlfriend he never got over. He had been thinking that it was time to go home and when asked to check on a war dog, Kascius took advantage of the opportunity to go home. Kascius followed the leads and found that the war dog was taken by a dog fighting ring. After the dog was rescued, the story was just getting started. When his mom is found dead, Kascius’ youngest brother accuses Ainsley of the murder. Since Ainsley’s brother also died of a drug overdose, the police wasted no time arresting her. Kascius posts bail and hires a lawyer. Then Kascius and Ainsley tried to solve the murder. The ending twist couldn’t be more surprising. Just like the other books in the series, I loved that Kascius was able to rescue the war dog and get his happily ever after.

Kascius by Dale Mayer
The K9 Files Book Twenty
Kascius hasn’t been home to Scotland in a long time. He worked for Titanium Corp after being injured and out of the military. So when Badger asks him to go to Scotland to find a lost War Dog, he realizes it’s time. He wants to see Liam and Emily, his brother, and his wife. And even his mom, who doesn’t know him anymore. This trip turns into much more than he could ever imagine.
Ainsley works as a home nurse. So when Kascius’s family asks that she takes over his mother’s care, she does. Never expecting to see Kascius again. But here he is. She soon finds all her feelings for him are still there, but she ruined any chance to reconcile five years ago—or did she?
I loved this story. It has several other stories that all come together in the end. Beam, the War Dog, and the family that had him and where he ends up. Angus, the youngest and very spoiled brother, and the lies he’s spread. And more. A real page-turner!

Kascius is the 20th book in The K9 Files series by Dale Mayer.
Kascius is returning to Scotland after a long absence to search for a missing War Dog. Kascius’s relationship with his family is strained at best. He is hoping to get the job done quickly so he doesn’t have to spend any time around the woman he once loved. Little does Kascius know Ainsley is the nurse caring for his mother and she is at the family farm every day. Ainsley is doing her best to do her job and not let the fact Kascius is back bother her. She has a job to do and the relationship they had has been over between for along time, Kascius will never forgive her for her youthful mistakes. I loved this book, the story is original and the characters are all amazing. There is so much going on with the characters. This book has everything, family problems, deceit, revenge, danger, a missing War dog, murder and greed. This book had me from page one and I couldn’t put it down. This is a must read!

What a twisted tale! Poor Kascius! Wow to be the man he is with the family dynamics he came from. Same for his brother Liam. This was a wild ride lots of twists and turns with surprise here and there. I knew who the person was the first time they were on the page but it was subtle and still plenty of surprises. I was disappointed there was not more Beamer, but am glad I the horrible things that people gamble on was not detailed unnecessarily, though Mistress was a little rough for dog lovers. It along with trafficking (which no is not in this book) are necessary tales everyone should be aware of. I liked honesty and self awareness that both Kascius and Ainsley own up to. Like Kascius, Ainsley, Liam and Emily - my mind was boggled with the family hatred self righteousness and destruction of all but themselves. Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #Kascius #K9files#20 #Dalemayer #valleypublishingltd #booksprout

What a twisted tale full of greedy people who want it all with the least amount of work put in. Thank goodness for Kascius and his lack of ill will to those who did him wrong, his foresight into working out just what was going on and in standing up for Ainsley, Liam and Emily. Gosh families! There is a lot going on in this with action, suspense and evil. Of course we also have kindness, love and support, our k9 war dog is adorable. Fabulous and exciting read that's well written and has a nice steady flow that picks up and races away at times, it's gripping and I really didn't want to put it down. I was very definitely invested in the outcome after all the complexities. Characters to both love and hate. It's quite an emotional and powerful story as well, one I certainly wouldn't want to have missed. I do love a joyful happy ending after lots of turmoil.

Kascius is tasked by Badger and Kat to go to Scotland and find a K9 dog that appears to have got lost on arrival, he's happy to go as he can see his brother, Liam, at the same time, he's not so happy about seeing his old girlfriend, Ainsley, and his youngest brother, Angus, is a waste of space.
He arrives to find that his mother has dementia and worse than he expected, but Ainsley is looking after her, which is a surprise.
He goes to the airport to find what has happened to Beamer, the K9, and is met with some interesting information. Then things take a huge turn for the worse, Ainsley is arrested for murder, the K9 may or may not be involved in dog fighting.
Can he sort all this out? What about his feelings for Ainsley?

When Kascius is asked to find a war dog in Scotland, he’s good to go since that is where he is originally from and has family there. He plans to visit with his brothers and his sick mom, who doesn’t have much time left. He is not looking forward to seeing his ex Ainsley again, they left on not so great terms and now she is his mom’s nurse, so he won’t be able to avoid her. While tracking down the K9, the past comes back, lies are exposed and even more sinister deeds that no one knew about come to light. With all that is going on, Kascius still gives his all to find the dog and he may just make peace with all the memories and lies that drove him and Ainsley apart.
A good read with twists and turns, surprises and good characters. Some surprises I did see coming but others blew me away.

When the situation for Kascius became unbearable with his family he decided to leave Scotland, his family and the woman he loved and headed to the US where he joined the Navy. After an injury ended his career Badger asks him to return to Scotland to search for a missing canine but his return soon becomes filled with turmoil and danger.

Ainsley is hoping that Kascius’s return home will give her the answers she needs about the way their relationship ended. She has been working for his family to assist with his mother’s care, but his return not only brings up the pain of the past, but she finds herself under suspicion and he might be the only one who can clear her name.

This is a second chance at love that is filled with intrigue and surprises as Ainsley and Kascius find themselves dealing with family drama while trying to heal from the past.

At a glance this seems to be all the reasons why Kascius has not been home in years. Why he has stayed away from Ainsley. We meet his brother Liam and his wife, Emily first. They seem to be the only two really pleased to have him home. Then Ainsley enters the picture before he heads off to greet his mother. Next we meet Sibel, Ansley's sister and finally Angus, Kascius's youngest brother, who might add is a really unlikeable character. Then is the task of finding the War Dog that has gone missing and sold to a dogfighting ring. Things are strained but as they proceed we are being given clues about what is really going on, but I don't think any of us actually know what it is until the last chapter of the book. Expect to be surprised and expect there to be a dozen or more twists and turns before all is plodding along on a new normal with a happy ending.

In this book Kascius returns to his native Scotland to try and find a war dog that has gone missing. While there, he plans to visit his family and perhaps mend some bridges that were broken when he left to join the US military.
I discovered Dale Meyer when reading books from her Hathaway House series. Kascius isn’t one of my typical genres, I prefer my books to be closed door. But I love books with animals in them, and if you skip those few paragraphs, this is a rich book with complex and well fleshed out characters and a story with lots of twists and turns. Don’t expect a quick read, you’ll want to savor all the nuances.

So many twists.

Book 20 sees us with Kascius. A trip home to find the war dog, Beamer, doesn't seem to fair well when being the black sheep of the family, a brother being the one who inherits and the younger brother being the golden child.

What can I cay about this book. It was full of angsty twisty goodness, that had me on the edge of my seat. Three brothers, a strict father and a hateful mother along with an ex, her sister and now dead brother. I certainly didn't expect the twists in the book and how the book finished but wow. I felt for Kascius for what he went through with family but I certainly didn't expected someone close to want him dead. I am so looking forward to the next book now because it seems they keep getting better and better.

I really enjoyed reading KASCIUS . This story is part of the K9 Files . Kascius is tasked to find and rescue an American War Dog over in Scotland . Kascius came from Scotland he hasn't went back for five years . He really is not looking forward to seeing his ex- girlfriend and definitely not his mother . Upon arriving he finds Ainsley his ex tending to his mother and things soon go off the rails and Kascius finds himself trying to manage the situation and getting answers . The feelings and chemistry between Ainsley and him are still there if they can survive . This story is Suspenseful and intense and just outstanding . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Military Vet Kascius is headed home to Scotland. His mission is to locate a missing war dog that vanished under suspicious circumstances. Also to visit his family where there are so many skeletons in the closet, such hatred and lies surround most of them. Ainsley his love that he left behind years ago got caught up in this mess both past and present. Did she commit murder and it's coming back to bite her or is she a convenient victim?
I love this K9 series, the author didn't hold back with the crimes committed against both humans and animals.
So much going on that I was totally invested in these characters. Loved it.

Once again a member of Badger's extended team is searching for a missing war dog. This time it is Kascius a former member of the British army who was injured while fighting for the US he is willing to go searching for the missing in his Scottish homeland what he didn't expect is that it would bring him back to his family and the woman who he left behind and who broke his heart. There is far more going on than a missing dog though and soon he is drawn into his families dramas and the local dog fighting world. Can he save Beamer Can he rebuild his relationships especially with Ainsley and can he sort out the mess that his family has become You will have to read to see

Not even sure where to start on reviewing this book as there was so much action, drama, and backstabbing. Some of it was expected and some blew me away!

Kascius comes home to help find a war dog that went missing and to face his past with his family and old girlfriend.

I just could not put the book down there was so much going on and I wanted to know how it ended.

Wow, what a dysfunctional family and filled with lies and anger and backstabbing. Makes you glad for your own family's lack of drama.

Great story, and HEA.

The twentieth book in the K9 Files series, this series just gets better with each new book. I know this is a series I want to read again from book one until wherever it ends. Badger sends Kascius to Scotland to find the next American War Dog Beamer that has been shipped there. He meets Ainsley the woman he used to love. There is action, drama, a dysfunctional family, mystery, danger, villains, twists, turns and a second chance. The story is well written with a very good storyline that kept me turning pages. The story was well worth reading. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
