Three beautiful, cruel boys rule Kingsworth Prep. And I'm the girl who almost ruined them...
It all started with that video I posted of them—you know, the one that went viral. But that was before I knew who they were.
Ezra Covington, Bellamy Thorn, and Dashiell Laurier. Three untouchable royals who were just… well, royally touched. Three gorgeous, ruthless kings used to getting exactly what they want.
Now they want me.
They want my screams against their mouths. My ruin beneath their fingers. My demons exposed to the world.
Little do they know, my demons bite back.
And that makes me just as savage as any king.
WARNING: Savage Kings is a bully romance that contains graphic content and situations that might make some readers uncomfortable. It is a reverse harem novel, meaning the heroine has more than one love interest. It is book 1 in the Savages of Kingsworth series and ends in a cliffhanger.
L.M. Harrison is an author of dark reverse harem and bully romance. She loves morally charcoal heroes, all the angst, and a thousand and one twists.
When she's not writing, you can find her obsessing over coffee, burninating the kitchen (she likes to try new recipes and the recipes like to fail), and dreaming up her next anti-hero since she's always sort of writing.
She lives with her husband and kids, so donations of vodka and charcuterie are appreciated.
RESEARCH BOOKS BEFORE YOU READ THEM. This series isn’t finished and it looks like it never will be. WHYYYYY do you do this to meeee I need to know what happens pleeeease
Finally I found a book that’s actually fun to read this year.
Also, fuck this for that awful cliffhanger. I wasn’t surprised by it, I knew it, but what am I supposed to do now? Where is book 2? Wheeere
Three hot guys and a confident Grace but they all have secrets and little by little pieces unfold in this intriguing bully romance. Dash is the consummate, volatile bad boy; Ezra, warm but with a dark side; and Bellamy, the sweet (?), mysterious, inebriated Brit (but why?). They are all infinitely attractive, and their pursuit of Grace played out as a game, switching between attraction and retribution.
Coerced to attend the prep school of haters after her social media post of their sordid proposition went viral, Grace is subjected to bullying not just from the guys but the privileged students including the proverbial mean girl. Similar themes to other bully romances but I really enjoyed the characters, the heroes, and their questionable behaviors along with the mysterious subplot.
I was less keen on the spice factor, a bit too much tease and not enough action, at least until the near end of the romance, despite the great tension building in their relationship. Also, the reveals were not as forthcoming, admittedly probably on purpose. But the slower progression coupled with the low steam felt unnecessary, making the storyline at times inactive.
Overall, really an entertaining plot and some alluring characters. The story captured my interest, and I must know what happens next.
Annoying heroine, the plot was dragging, the story began quite strongly, but eventually I was just skimming, since got bored with this constant push-and-pull game.
“Here I am, in the middle of the woods late at night with three guys who have continuously jumped between tormenting me and seducing me, and I have no idea what’s going on.”
Same sis, same.
Book 2/8 of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Book Club!
There’s so much to unpack here, but I honestly realized I’ve tossed myself into the world of reverse harem and bully smut romance and I am not loving it 😂 I am however, loving annotating and writing notes to my friends 😂
This twisted style of writing about 17 and 18 year old CHILDREN on some PornHub shit is BANANAS TO ME. WHERE ARE THEIR PARENTS. Y’all. Gwen was not lying when she said “this shit is B A N A N A S 🍌” in the name of hollaback girls everywhere I’m gonna need everyone to please chill out.
I’m giving this a 2 star because the grammar was wonderful, I didn’t read the word “hella” once, the references to Twilight, Scream and other favs of mine were hysterical and the sex scenes were (mostly) 😘 🤌🏼. Although, thinking some 17-18 year olds know how to have sex like THAT is laughable. And a whole book where all 3 guys know where to find the clit? Absolutely not.
The bully romance, the weird 3 way sexuationship Grace has going on… my sister in Christ this is me BEGGING you to invest in a quality vibrator. Please. For me.
Savage Kings is just the beginning, and it's already been one wild, insane, twisted ride. I still have so many questions, and each chapter was filled with twists and turns, and now I'm wondering who our girl Grace can trust.
It checked all my boxes and more. The banter, sexual tension, and spice were off the charts. What I really loved the most was the mystery behind each character. They all have skeletons in their closets just waiting to be revealed.
That cliffhanger was brutal, and I can't wait to read the next book to continue Grace, Ezra, Dash, and Bellamy's story.
the royals of kingsworth. dash, ezra & bellamy. these 3 boys run kingsworth. they all are entirely interested in grace, but make her life hell after she posted a video tht made them viral. these boys know how to ruin lives. dash is ur bad boy, the leader of the group. ezra is kind with a dark side. & finally bellamy, the mystery who is nothing but sweet. each character is so intriguing & VERY ATTRACTIVE!
gracelyn reminds me of lana bcos of her strength. with a target on her back grace has to face an entire school, who essentially despise her bcos of the 3 kings. what these ppl don’t realise is tht grace has no filter & she’ll say it how it is, no fucks given. she does everything to protect those she loves, no matter what consequences she faces bcos of it.
this book is filled with spice, tension, banter, chemistry & passion. deffo recommend for those who live bully romances or rh🖤
The FMC is annoying, the instant best friend trope is annoying, the fact that a Tiktok kicked out the story is annoying and the boys are the cliche RH trio.
This is an RH, bully dark romance college book, that starts with a great intensity. The characters are fantastic, I really liked Grace, the royals Bellemy, Dash and Ezra, they are intriguing, I can't wait for the next one, I wasn't expecting it to end on a cliffy, but there is so much going on I really expected it. The pacing dragged me from the start and hooked me up until the end. I would like to hear this on audiobook in the future.
Enemies to lovers. RH, academy, and three best friends that lord over the school, including the feisty scholarship student. This book has it all, plus more. Grace never backs down from a fight and seems to harbor a lot of secrets. She gets herself plenty of attention from the “royals” and no matter what they throw at her, she remains strong and even dishes it back. The bullying in this book from the 3 guys was really just verbal, although some of it really could have hurt a weaker person. Some of the other bullies take it too far though and you instantly hate their characters. Grace can’t seem to keep herself away from the guys, each of them vastly different from each other. The sexual tension is abundant, the guys are definitely not selfish in their attentions, and they grow to have an understanding about the RH-type relationship developing. She does her best to keep her secrets from them and everyone else, but some of them start to unravel at the end before a big bomb is dropped AT THE END. I have so many questions. Why Dash?! What are they hiding?! I need to know all the secrets! I really enjoyed this book. If you like RH, academy setting, enemies to lovers, and lots of sexual tension with verbal abuse sprinkled with a “good girl” here and there, you’ll enjoy this book.
honestly this was pretty good, it would’ve been better if the FMC was more tolerable. She just kept initiating problems and yelling at them. Didn’t bother to really think outside of her bubble and maybe attempt to figure out the bigger picture. Also she would forgive them wayyyy to easily- yes at times she did put up a fight, however it was very short lived. Also all three of the MMC’s are objectively horrible people and i hate them all, but if anything that makes me wanna read the books more. I won’t lie- i was not expecting that from her friend. I’m not too bothered with it surprisingly, because for once I did like the supporting role the friend played. She was nice and not too annoying. And those three acted so nonchalantly about it too. Now personally, if it were me i would’ve gauged their eyes out and then fed it to them. I hope she makes all three of them suffer in the next book. Not some juvenile jealousy tactic, she needs to make each and every one of them suffer and I hope she’s smart about it too. Like even if there was good reasoning to why they treated her like that- they still deserve the absolute worse. I hope the FMC gains some kind of brains cells the next book too; stop acting to recklessly, slow down, and use her brain for once. also this is irrelevant but those scenes when she was filming herself gave me so much second hand embarrassment. I literally screamed into my pillow because I simply couldn’t bear to read it. I had to take multiple breaks and then start reading again.
When I read this book in December of 2022, I gave it 4 stars. I really enjoyed it and liked the plot twists. I was so excited that at the back of the book, it said book 2 would have been out in November of 2022! I ran to Amazon to get it, and the new release date said end of December of 2022. No big deal! That happens, right?
It is now July of 2023 and the second book is still not out. It has been pushed back at least once a month. The author has posted for MONTHS different excuses for why the book is not coming out. Her main reasoning for the delay is she says Amazon has been kicking the book back. Once she said she had too much of a preview for book 3 in book 2 so they denied it… She has removed comments on all of her social media and then scrubbed her Facebook account. People have said she blocks you if you call out her suspicious behavior. Book 3 was supposed to come out already and has been moved back several times as well.
At this point I think it’s obvious that the book is not written and I wonder if it ever will be. Do not waste your time on book 1 until book 2 is released. There are a couple of major cliff hangers at the end and you will be waiting potentially forever. At this point I’m invested in the stupidity of the situation even though I will not be reading book 2.
Had she come out and said the book was not written, she had writers block, etc. it would be different. But it’s been 9 months of delays and 4 months of her saying “it should be out this week!”
Someone recommended this book series on TikTok... so of course I had to get it. OMG! These guys are complete and utter a-holes and truthfully the heroine needs a good head thumping. I felt like screaming wake the hell up most of the book! But you know.. those kinds of books are some of the best ones.
I hate bully romances where the fmc falls for her bullies while they’re still terrorizing her. The fmc gets intimate for the first time with the MC after he humiliates her(while calling her a slut). Bully romances are tough. There is such a delicate balance between the bullies being mean, but still likable. And the FMC being tough, but still vulnerable. This book definitely didn’t fit the bill. The fmc comes off annoying and weak. I couldn’t finish it.
I have been in such a slump, but this one broke that. The spice, the characters, the mystery. Yea. 1 day. And IMMEDIATELY starting book 2. Who needs sleep anyway.
Savage Kingsby new to me author L.M. Harrison is her debut book from her debut seriesSavages of Kingsworth. This Why Choose, Dark Bully Romance follows the story of Gracelyn ‘Grace’ Lilley.
This Bully Romance definitely brought the elements you would expect to find within this trope. The love-hate, fiery chemistry and the constant back and forth from the pushing and pulling leading to copious amount of drama and angst. Giving you many different feels from the emotions released and explored throughout. Especially when it comes to exploring Grace’s life which has been full of pain and trouble every which way she goes. And made all the more worse when a decision she makes in regards to an incident she filmed that involves three strangers turns her world upside from the outcome. Resulting in the three strangers to wreak havoc upon her life. With all that was going on L.M. Harrison made it so that you couldn't stop reading in following along the journey that Grace is having to travel upon.
From the many twists and turns that came about, especially surrounding the mysteries within the secondary parts of the plot. You couldn’t help but be intrigued and captivated with wanting to know the answers, given the secrets being kept that were alluded too. Especially since L.M. Harrison kept you guessing throughout from the sprinkling of little clues she dropped.
The bonus was the Three Sexy, Hot, Dark and Broody, Douchebag A-holesEzra Beau Covington, Bellamy Thorn and Dashiell ‘Dash’ Laurier who ruled over the school and Grace too. Seeing as the story was told through singular POV, L.M. Harrison still managed to have you entranced and interested with getting to know the boys through Grace's eyes and thoughts. Particularly because it kept the mystery alive, since they were all a bit of an enigma. Even despite the little bits we saw and learn, Ezra (MY FAV) being warm and sweet, whilst also playing on the side of darkness. Bellamy always stoic given the walls he’s built around himself, mysterious and constantly intoxicated. And Dash being the a-hole you love to hate with his douchebag, alpha attitude. Together they brought the story more excitement given the cat and mouse game they had going on with Grace. Ultimately bringing a lot more to the story than you would expect.
There was one thing that irked me and that was repetitiveness of the scenes between Grace and Dash. A fair amount of times it just felt like going around in circles, even with the few little changes here and there. Most of the time it seemed like Grace and Dash were sharing the same moments over again, considering their actions, reactions and emotions. Which to me ultimately felt like it was stopping the story from progressing forward. Also it would've been nice to see more from Ezra and Bellamy since they seemed to take a backseat in comparison to Dash, which has me hoping won't be the case in the next book. Instead having them being brought forth and pushing Dash back.
Other than that, L.M. Harrison still captured my attention withSavage Kingsgiven this interesting storyline that had me intrigued and curious to know what will happen next inSavages of Kingsworthseries. Especially give the cliffhanger ending.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Dark and full of twists and so many lies to uncover as this highly addictive story unfolds. POV is through the FMC.
Wow this was such a great story to get lost in as you follow along with each of the characters throughout this story. A video gone viral is the first of many downfalls for Grace when she learns the identity of her three stars that she sets out to publicly shame for being rich jerks with no filters. Poor Grace finds herself being blackmailed and no escape in sight, with Dash, Ezra, and Bellamy becoming her bullies of sorts and finding out these royals as they are called on campus have a mass of followers to help break Grace and try to put her in her place.
Grace is that character that speaks before she thinks, takes action before the unenviable consequences follow said actions. She is a complex and witty character at times and I loved her sparky attitude she brings. She may come from unstable home and lack the parental control most teens would have but she is real and she fights to help her sister and her nephew when times become tough. Unfortunately for Grace she's pulled into a game with three guys who want to destroy her world and she has a lot of her own secrets that she never wants anyone to know about. You watch as each guy becomes a little more possessive or controlling of Grace and little by little they start to make Grace crave their attention and what dark and depraved things they do to her.
Dash is the ringleader of sorts he's mean and cruel but seems to want Grace to be humiliated and crave her all at the same time. This character is a alphAhole to the extreme at times.
Ezra is the southern laid back one that can be charming and pop his dimples to get what he wants. He also has a very violent side and seems to be attracted to Grace knowing she's been deemed off-limits by Dash. He won't stop till he has Grace just once at least with or without his best friend’s okay.
Bellamy is the quiet British one that doesn't say much but is happy to make Grace miserable when need be. He only seems to want her to leave at first but he's also has a dark past that Grace finds herself thrown into without fully understanding what is happening.
This book is such an amazing ride of twists and turns that will have you questioning what is happening and who is to be trusted. So many secrets and lies that keep falling and being uncovered only to lead to more questions once again.
So yes this book ends on a crazy insane cliffhanger that makes you want to scream so beware. I loved that this is a kind of slow buildup of the RH side of the story. It's spicy and intriguing with a huge mystery hanging over each character in this story. I highly recommend this book for any reader who likes the slow build of a RH/bully romance with a dark and mysterious mystery to solve along the way. I had the pleasure of reading this one early and all I can say is I'm now a huge fan of this author. I can’t wait for the next book because I need to know what lies ahead for these highly addictive characters!
Mystery, very-dark broody bad boys, and a girl that takes no grief from anyone....step into the Kingdom if you dare.
Grace Lilley is a girl that never knows when to stop running her mouth. She is very aware of this bad habit of hers, it is essentially what gets her into trouble and basically shipped off to Kingsworth in the first place, but she also never seems to stop this bad habit of hers.
There is a LOT of moving parts and shrouded darkness in this book. Grace is constantly told to leave Kingsworth when she was forced to attend it in the first place. Why? I'm not entirely sure, yet. There is also a lot of mystery surrounding her background, but I won't focus on that here, as it's part of that overall intrigue factor that's wound throughout the story and I don't want to spoil it. However, I will say this, for all intents and purposes she goes into Kingsworth alone so it's easy for her to be singled out and bullied, but the majority of that bullying doesn't come from whom you'd expect. Although I'm still trying to piece together who some of the players are, as this is just the first book in this series and like I said, there is a bigger puzzle to solve and as a reader we've only been given a fraction of the pieces.
This is a reverse harem story and wowza!! One of the love interests...oh my...he is one of those love to hate and hate to love types. Due to the dubious nature of the story their chemistry wasn't completely in your face, but like I said he does grow on you and with a harem there is always support when the hating becomes too much. That is what makes a harem so wonderful...right?!?
Just when things were really heating up and the plot was getting juicy of course the book leaves us on a cliffhanger....so I'm left here needing more and I'm dying to know how everything turns out for Grace.
As all our favourite bully romances, the book starts with the Royals of Kingsworth: Dash, Esra, and Bellamy - entitled rich kids - who meet our MC on an unfortunate night when one of them was propositioning her sister despite her saying no. Grace, our MC, posts their absolute entitlement on social media going viral overnight and, as you can imagine, this didn't go well with the Kings.
Through some blackmail, they end up making Grace attend their school where their revenge starts. However, things turn dark pretty quickly.
Overall, the book was enjoyable and definitely picked my interest to want to continue the series. However, I found some topics (especially towards the end) thrown into the story quite abruptly instead of getting them as a natural build-up. So the cliffhanger left me confused - instead of just being shocked or getting the "aha! I knew it" feeling.
I did like that the three guys are portrayed as antiheroes and the main character does not excuse their behaviour just because "they are good-looking and rich". I also saw a lot of chemistry going around between all four of them and the different contrasts between their personalities.
I do love it when an MC is outspoken and strong and I think it's quite clear from the beginning that Grace fits the mold.
Aside from the plot getting a bit choppy/all over the place towards the end, I truly enjoyed this RH bully romance and I can't wait to read the next books in the series!
It is my first read of this author. I am captivated by the author's creativity and how she penned the storyline. The plot is exciting and different. Overall, I like the book's characters. The female Gracie is great. She is vulnerable but a fighter and has a heart. Dash, Ezra, and Bellamy are the bad boys, and they have their skeletons. Bellamy is hiding behind the bottle, and he is fighting his demons. However, the boys are loyal to each other. Each one of them is playing a role, and I quite do not understand their end game and what they want from Gracie, a part of sex and revenge. They are plotting something, and it has to do with Gracie. I do not understand why Dash released the video and Gracie's past. Is it for revenge, or he wants her collaboration? The storyline contains the same bully, elite students, and mean girls theme as other bully books. I wanted to give a four-star review, but I feel that the revealing of the plot was dragged out too long, and I am not fond of books ending with a cliffhanger. However, the storyline kept me captivated. It has been a long time since I haven't been reading a book this interesting. I am glad I do not have to wait long for the installment of the second book.
I received an advance copy of this book. This was intense. Grace has a lot of stuff she has gone through and is continually finding herself in. She is constantly getting in the middle of three other students and all the drama that goes with school them. She posted a video online about three very rude entitled jerks. Of course that is the start of the downward spiral. She now goes to a school where everyone is rich and no one is honest or who they seem to be. The three very rude entitled jerks also go to school there and they are not nice people at all. They bully her constantly belittle and treat her like trash they want her gone but she cant and they know it. They have her trapped and they know all her secrets and hold them over her head like an anvil waiting to drop. They want her one second and then want nothing to do with her the next. I feel like I have whiplash going back and forth on their emotions and wants. So much drama with teens. I really enjoyed the book whiplash and all. It ended on a cliffhanger I wasn’t expecting. I cant wait to read the next installment. The story didn’t really drag it moved pretty quickly.
When you have a FMC that has this much snark you know it is going to take some serious guys to bring those walls down. Grace has a habit of saying what she thinks no matter what it might cost her. Getting in trouble this last time has gotten her sent to Kingsworth Prep and she is now in the sights of the three Royals, Ezra, Bellemy and Dash. These guys will show no mercy on her, but then you don’t expect them to. Grace isn’t just getting the bullying from the guys but honestly the school itself is a prep school that knows that she released a video that put the target on her back and then add in the queen bee mean girl and this year will not be easy.
I am ready for the next book already so we can find out what happens next as Grace is in yet another situation and it appears that someone is out to make things more difficult for her.
A gripping and highly enjoyable bully romance from a new author to me. This was well written, full of suspense with plenty of little twists and turns. Grace is thew MFC and i liked her a lot, shes not afraid to stand her ground but has a vulnerable side as well. The 'Royals', Dash, Bellamy and Ezra are a secretive bunch and constantly gave mixed signals, especially around Grace......you know something else, much deeper and darker is going on with these guys but as yet we don't know what, they certainly bring the steam, the angst and the drama to the story......i cant wait for the next book to hopefully get some answers. A great start to a why choose bully romance that will definitely leave you wanting more!
I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.
This is the 1st in a new series. Ezra, Bellamy, and Dash are three best friends who are out of control cruel savages, who rule over the school with iron fists, and are relentless in their pursuit of scholarship student Grace. Ezra has a dark side, Bellamy is sweet and mysterious, and Dash is the volatile bad boy, and Grace is feisty, and firmly in their sights, and she gives as good as she gets. This story ends in a whammy of a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to read the 2nd book. This is a well written story which is a reverse harem, enemies / lovers, with secrets, twists, bullying, intrigue, and retribution, which leads to a thrilling and addictive page turner. I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I was wanting to read this and couldn’t put it down but at the same time, I hate the bullying, the getting away with anything because your rich, famous, related to, etc. guys were assholes - stated Grace is the “I should hate them. I do hate them. I want them all.” Which ticks me off but I wanna know what the deal is!!
Also, if you’ve read the series Zodiac Academy by Caroline Peckham you’ll see the similarities with the whole: 4 boys who rule this school. Get the F^^ out they give those girls. Bulky, tormenting behavior those males dish out and the girl going back for more. Plus others things
OMG! This book definitely got me out of my reading slump. I was not expecting there to be so much mystery within the plots, in regards to how the characters are all entwined, but I loved every minute of it slowly being discovered as I kept reading. This author really knows how to write their characters they were equally different, interesting, and bold, and that cliffhanger what a turn of events that was. I can't wait for book 2 of this series as I am fully invested to see where the author is going to take the cliffhanger and how these bold characters are going to grow. I recommend this book to those who love a mysterious RH/bully romance.
