Colt Fulton is a selfish womanizer who doesn’t care about anyone but himself.
He’s also starting his membership with the Savage Kings MC on shaky ground after he carelessly loses his leather cut while hooking up with one of the many women who come and go through his life.
The Savage Kings are rightly furious when one of their cuts turns up in South Carolina being worn by a teenager pretending to be a member of the club to get girls.
Colt, however, doesn’t think the kid should be punished for his efforts. In fact, after he realizes that Jordan’s been through some of the same torments of Colt’s past, he feels compelled to help him get his life straight. That’s why Colt offers to let Jordan be his prospect despite his mother’s objections.
Josie Billing’s eighteen-year-old son Jordan is struggling to deal with his recent trauma caused by her abusive ex-husband. The last thing Jordan needs is to be exposed to the bad influence of some random smooth-talking biker from a motorcycle gang. A biker who is determined to take her son to Virginia and is relentless about trying to get her in his bed.
Colt never gets turned down by women. So, when Josie doesn’t fall for any of his usual tricks, he becomes obsessed with trying to win her over. The eight-year age difference doesn’t bother him like it apparently bothers her, however. In fact, he’s starting to think the older woman may be the one to finally curb his wandering eye if she would just give him a chance.
Unfortunately, Colt likes to gamble big without thinking about the consequences of his actions.
When Josie finally gives in to him, Colt will have to deal with the fallout and risk losing both her and his prospect.
Lane Hart is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, D.B. West, and their two children. She loves all things beach related, especially sea turtles, and is a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers.
I was enjoying this. I was like "ok, she's being realistic. Unsure of him. She is not giving in immediately. I wonder how he will pursuade her? Maybe a little groveling and begging" Then BAAAAM The baby trope jumped Why oh why the need to make pregnancy the solution for any relationship!!!!! So I DNFed😝
Colt sure loves his women but it was his voracious love of of women that got him in trouble with his club. What does it say about a biker who loses his kutte? Well for one thing it will get you in a lot of trouble with your club. Colt is sent to get his kutte back because some eighteen-year-old is wearing to summer school trying to score with girls.
Jordan has had a rough time of it with his mom, Josie, and her poor choice of men. Once Colt hears about Jordan’s life, he wants Jordan to prospect for the Savage Kings MC Virginia and he will be his sponsor. As for Josie, Colt would like nothing more than to make things a little more permanent with her.
I loved this book between the steam and grit of this story, I couldn’t get enough of it.
The 2nd book in the Savage Kings MC: Virginia series, Colt is a Savage King that readers will fall in love with. He is in a bit of a panic due to losing his kutte after his time with a sexy woman at Myrtle beach. It is definitely a problem for Colt as the MC is not happy that he was so careless to have lost it. Heading back to retrieve it, he finds out it is being worn by the woman's son Jordon. Upon wearing his kutte again, he then makes a decision concerning Jordon to avoid any more trouble. As a reader I fell in love with the interactions between Colt, Josie, and her son Jordan. **I was gifted "Colt" via Booksprout, leaving my review based on my reading.** 5 Stars
The Savage King MC series is one of my favorites. Colt decides to take a boy in as his prospect that has stolen his cut. Because Jordan is around Colt day and night, Colt starts to fall for Jordan’s mom. I absolutely loved Josie’s character and willingness to do all she could as a single mom and protect her son. Colt’s dynamic with Josie and Jordan are a favorite also. Highly recommend!
This is the 2nd book in the Savage Kings MC - Virginia series. I enjoyed the first book and this one even more. This is a protective mom story with Josie and Colt. Colt is labeled as a selfish womanizer who’s also very laid back. Then he meets Jordan and his mother, Josie. He then starts to see himself differently. Trouble ensues when Colt losses his cut during a little tryst at the beach. Jordan has it making Colt travel to go to South Carolina to get it. When he let’s Jordan have it for taking his cut, Jordan’ mom turns into an angry mother bear and defends him.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When Colt is sent to retrieve his kutt after losing it Colt has no idea how much his past and life is about to change. He quickly recognized things in Jordan that applied to himself. Their experiences are similar and it's because of those things that Colt takes J under his wing while wanting Jordan's mom Josie. Their story is filled with a lot of emotions and it makes of one amazing ride.
Colt is the 2nd book in Lane Hart and D.B. West's Savage Kings MC: Virginia chapter. At the end of the last book we found out Colt got his cut stolen while he was busy with a chick on the beach. He acted like it was no big deal and he could just get another one. He never realized how important that cut was especially since he didn't need to prospect to earn it. All Colt's life he's always messed up and did what he wanted. In this book we learn the reason he is the way he is. Colt even learns why he's the way he is and starts to change, figuring out how meaningful something is like his cut. Colt finds out that Roman, the President of the Myrtle Beach chapter has the guy that stole his cut and he's told to go get it. He's also told he's going to have to punish the guy that took it. When he got there and met Jordan, the 18yr old kid who stole it laughed and acted like it was not a big deal. But it really was a big deal and it takes him awhile to understand that. Colt has this immediate connection to Jordan and finds out it's because they've dealt with alot of the same trauma in their pasts. He decides he wants to sponsor Jordan as a prospect in Virginia. Jordan's mom Josie does not like that idea at all. Josie has been the only solid parent in Jordan's life and thinks that her goals for Jordan like going to college are the only way. Until Jordan steps up to her and tells her he's an adult now and he's going to make his own choices. He wants to prospect for the club and get out of Myrtle Beach as soon as he can. Josie puts all the blame for things on Colt until Jordan blows up and tells her that Colt is the one helping her more than anyone else. Colt is more like a big brother or father to him than just a sponsor. Colt also has the hots for Josie which is a good and bad thing. He has the chance to show Josie that not all guys are the same as her 4 ex husbands. While she insists that he's too young for her. 8 years is not too young in Colt's eyes and knows Josie is just making excuses. This book has alot of pain and heartache in it. I even shed a few tears for the trauma that Jordan and Colt had to endure at the hands of others. And being too ashamed to tell anyone it was happening cause they didn't want anyone else to get hurt. But that had to stop so they each faced their demons and won. Josie goes through a medical emergency that almost kills her and the secrets between her and Colt come out to Jordan who feels like he was betrayed. Colt has alot of work to do to repair that relationship and he puts the work in doing what's best for Jordan. This book can be read as a standalone but I'd suggest reading the 1st book in the series to get an idea of their backstories and who all is in this new chapter of the Savage Kings.
I keep doing this every single time and do I regret it? Nope. Wanna know what? I started to read this book at 1 am... 1 am people, do you can guess what happened... I stayed up late all night. That's right, all night. I was tired but so glad that I read it. That's the impact each book written by this duo has on me. Lane Hart and DB West have a special place in my heart and every time a new book is out, the need to read them right away is empowering. Their writing is raw and wild, intense with lots of darkness, drama, and hot stuff into the mix. Colt is their latest release and it's the second book from the Savage Kings MC, Virginia chapter. This book explores the lives of Colt and Josie. Colt is a womanizer and because of that, he's not only a selfish person but also careless. After one of these random hookups, he loses his cut. When one of the members finds his cut, they want to punish not only Colt but also the kid who had it. So what does Colt do? He offers to sponsor the kid in becoming one prospect for the Kings. Josie's life hasn't been easy. Her main focus is to protect her son, but life isn't always perfect. She's trying to help her son overcome the pain he suffered at the hands of her ex-husband. So when a stranger appears out of nowhere with intentions of taking her son to help him... I knew that this book was going to be intense and I was not wrong. One of the subjects that were discussed here, unfortunately, is very present in our society and if I could, I would punish every single abuser myself. Great plot, very well written, super engaging, and intense. Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn't stop reading. Even being super sick, where I could barely open my eyes, the need to know more overpowered everything. The characters worked perfectly with each despite the push and pull. You can't say no to love, even if you had been hurt several times in the past. Give it a chance and achieve true happiness. Not only do we have abuse, and deception, but also true friendship, tight family, and hot stuff... Oh boy... Hot hot. This book was amazing and I didn't want it to end. Great book as always Lane and DB. You guys rocked once again. Can't wait for Bear.
Colt is the second installment in the Savage Kings MC - Virginia, featuring Colt Fulton, Remy younger brother and Josie, a single mother from Myrtle Beach, NC and can be read as a standalone.
If you've read Remy, you already know about Colt's womanizing ways, give-no-sh|ts atittude and selfishness (supposedly) and that is exactly what got him in trouble with a furious Remy and the club. Now, it's time to go two states over to Myrtle Beach to retrieve what was stolen due to his carelessness. What was not supposed to happen was the thief's mother to be a struggling young, beautiful woman, a spitfire with claws of her own. It started as usual for Colt, attraction, the chase just because, a challenge that might seem like a bet and the hunt was on. But not only that. Colt saw in Jordan a reflex of himdself, an adolescent acting out of rage, impotence and silent suffering and he decided to do for the kid what nobody had done for him. A way to turn around his struggles and find solace in the strength that came with the impossibility to fight properly.
Colt and Josie's relationship was kind of a slow burn, but with every palpable wants and wills. Noticing Colt's ways since the beginning, Josie wanted do so much more, but was careful to understand and weight the pros and cons and the promise made to her son along with making Colt work for it .....hard! And it happened....and it was freaking 🔥🔥🔥🔥!
This story shows that most of the time, things are not exactly that way we see without further knowledge or obsevation. Colt was a revelation in all the aspects that defined him until now and a pleasant surprise. It couldn't be any different with the Fulton boys, could it? And Josie...it was wonderful to see her bloom without the responsability to be mother and father and family, all at the same time! It was also do good to see the interface between Virginia and the mother chapter and feel their support, friendship and sense of justice. Another great addiction to the Savage Kings in Virginia!
He said I was too young, too immature, too stupid…
I received a free advance reader copy and am voluntarily leaving a review. Colt is the second in the Savage Kings MC Virginia chapter. I’ve read Lane Hart and DB West before, so when this title became available I was thrilled to review it.
This was a fun and quick read. I was interested to see just how much trouble Colt could get into as he tries to get his missing cut back. It was emotional to watch this tough man share his own story of abuse by an older man in order to help a teenage boy recover from a similarly horrible situation. It was these conversations and understanding which enabled the teenager to go on to achieve his goals.
Likewise, I couldn’t help but fall in love with Josie. Her whole life seemed to be one uphill battle after another especially in the form of the people who are supposed to support her. I admired her determination and her selflessness as she worked to raise her son on her own.
Only with Colt’s persistence in the face of Josie’s continued refusals did Josie begin to realize Colt’s own dedication to her and her teenage son. Something that turned out of be a way for Josie’s son to reach his goal of becoming a prospect for the MC demonstrated to Josie that Colt was one of the good guys, that he could be trusted with her heart.
This book was a HEA. I was happy to see Colt and Josie discover their happily-ever-after together. Their journey was filled with tension as each struggled to overcome their pasts and learn to trust in each other.
Colt is a player - he enjoys women but keeps them all at arm's length. He has no intention of ever getting into a serious relationship. A new member of the Savage Kings in Virginia, he's beginning to learn what it means to be a part of the brotherhood. When his cut is stolen and seen in the possession of a teenager in Myrtle Beach, the brothers of the founding chapter insist that he come and retrieve it. Not wanting to get young Jordan in trouble with the MC, he instead takes him on as his prospect. Sensing that Jordan is struggling, he gets involved with his daily life to make sure that he graduates high school and can earn his way into the MC.
It's just a bonus when he meets Jordan's young mother. Josie was a teenage mom who finally managed to get away from her much-older abusive husband. Colt finds her beautiful and fiery. She protects Jordan like a mama bear and is firmly against him joining the MC. What she doesn't see is the abuse her son has suffered and continues to suffer at the hands of his family. Josie, Jordan and Colt have all suffered in abusive relationships. This MC romance centers around themes of recovery and overcoming adversity. All three of these characters will define what happiness looks like for them and pursue it.
Josie and Colt's relationship is a lot of fun. Josie's continual rejections only make Colt want to work harder to win her over. While trying to woo Josie, we also see Colt's caring and protective traits in the way he supports Jordan and helps him to set and work toward goals. In the midst of his efforts to help Jordan succeed, Colt really grows into an adult. He recognizes how much his older brother did for him as he grew up and begins to get a sense of what it means to be a responsible parental figure and member of the MC. He's a really likable character. Jordan learns to take responsibility for himself and his future, developing into a strong young man. Colt's influence also helps Josie to learn to trust both herself and others again. Each of these characters go through an emotional and difficult evolution during the course of the story.
Past instances of emotional and physical abuse are mentioned. Although detailed descriptions are not included in the story, these mentions may be triggering to some readers.
Four stars for this MC romance.
This is an honest, voluntary review of an ARC of the story.
As an avid fan of MC romance, I can assure you that these two Authors are not only going to draw you, the reader, in but keep you riveted throughout. Actually, I often refer to them as a power couple and together, they certainly set the bar high for others in their field.
As a member of The Savage Kings MC, Colt certainly knows what dedication means. Meeting a young and stubborn boy, Jordan, Colt not only recognizes the cry for help, but that unfortunately, he can relate to him.
Wanting to right a wrong, Colt steps up to get not only Jordan back on track, but his gorgeous single Mother too. Josie Billings is quite honestly one of the hardest working people Colt's ever met. Watching this feisty, gorgeous and stubborn woman is not enough, Colt's playing for keeps and no one likes to lose. Together, they make perfect sense, all you have to do is read along and get as enraptured with their journey as I have.
Watching the character, Colt Fulton grow as a person was a privilege and I offer many thanks to Ms. Lane Hart and D.B. West for gifting us with another wonderful example of their superior storylines as well as bringing a real-life topic to life.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Colt in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
I couldn't recommend reading this release, or Series as a whole, more. Truthfully, I am now impatiently awaiting the next installment to The Savage Kings MC, Bear.
Colt is suffering from traumatic abuses while growing up & hasn't told anyone about his dark secrets. While Colt is busy locking lips on the beach one night, Jordan steals his cut, thinking he can be a chick magnet too. Colt locates the thief 2 states away & when they meet to return the cut, Colt has to decide what Jordan's punishment will be. Colt's intuition is right when he picks up on Jordan's behavior & sees a tormented young teen who is eager to run away from the adult men who were abusive to him during his young life. Seeing the same warning signs in Jordan's eyes as what Colt went through, he takes him in as a prospect into their MC under specific conditions first. They form a bond & what follows is a healing time for all 3 characters in seeking the closure they need to have the HEA & a healthier future.
When he meets Josie (aka Lil' Mama), he's attracted to her but she keeps pushing him away, making up excuses. Their attraction becomes too strong & he is changing into a responsible young man who will protect her no matter what. The biggest hurdle for these two is their age gap as she is a few years older & she sees a younger man who will desert her once he gets what he wants from her. Can Colt build the trust between them & will she see he is worthy & willing to do anything for her, including worship her as the strong woman she is?

“I’ve never pursued a woman before. You’re my first.”
Almost as good as book one, book two is about Remy’s brother Colt who finds himself falling for an older woman and the mother of his new prospect. I’ll be honest, I really didn’t care much for Colt when I read Remy. He was too arrogant and kind of obnoxious not to mention he seemed dim and very irresponsible. At the beginning of book two he seemed exactly the same. But as time went by and I got to know him more I changed my mind, although that was probably because Colt changed quite a bit himself. Josie was a hoot! Nothing like Avery, the lead in book one. She’s tiny, feisty and made me laugh. The chemistry between them was hot and I totally saw them together as a couple. But the best parts of the book in my opinion were the interactions between Colt and Jordan, Josie’s 18 year old son. I loved how becoming a father figure and taking responsibility for Jordan actually helped him finally understand why Remy always acted like he did over the years. The Colt we have at the end of the book is all grown up and I sure liked him a lot better! Bear’s next. I like him and can’t wait to see him finally find the right woman after having his heart broken to pieces by the wrong one.

Colt is the 2nd book in the Savage Kings Virginia chapter. Colt is young and immature brother who does what he wants and is a womanizer. He's new to the club and starts out on the wrong foot after loosing his cut while on the town with yet another one night stand! The cut is sacred amongst all the mc chapters and found in another state. The sacred cut is found by a young teenager named Jordan who decides to wear it pretending he can get respect and the ladies. Colis told he must go get his cut back or deal with the consequences. Colt finds Jordan and decides to take the teenager under his wing but his mother Josie doesn't want him to have anything to do with Colt or the Savage Kings. Colt tries to get Josie in his bed and allow her son to prospect but due to her trauma she fights him and is concerned over the age difference. Another story of older woman younger man. Is Josie the one lady to stop his womanizing ways? Will Colt and Josie get their hae? Will Colt grow up and get the respect from his other brothers? Will Josie and Jordan be able to overcome the fears from their abuse and trauma? Stay tuned more is yet to come!.

You knew from the start that Colt's book was going to be different than the others, and it did not disappoint.
Colt finds himself involved in the lives of Josie, a single mom, and her son, Jordan. He helps Jordan as he tries to move past a terrible situation he found himself a victim to. While he helps Jordan, he gets to know Josie, even as she is reluctant to get to know him back. She doesn't care much for MC's. When Jordan plans to accept a prospecting cut, he gets heavy push back from Josie. Colt, however, makes it a mission to convince Josie this is the right step for Jordan.
As the rest of the story unfolds, you find out and understand why choices were made among these 3 characters. The villains of the story were people who were suppose to take care of them. At times it was hard to read without tearing up for what they went through.
I enjoyed this story, and can't wait to meet more of the characters moving forward.

I read this book in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. Colt and Josie's story really drew me in. When Colt finds out that a kid has been wearing his cut after stealing it at a party he drives down to Myrtle beach to collect it.To get himself and Jordon out of trouble he makes Jordon his prospect and the relationship they have is great as Colt understands Jordon better than anyone else. He gets Jordon to finish school and graduate before they leave for Rockport. After being married several times and it not working Josie has promised her son Jordon that she will remain single, but that all changes when she meets Colt. His patience and flirting wears her down and when they finally get together it's explosive. My emotions were all over the place with this story as one minute I was sad and another I was laughing. Jordon's banter with Greer really made me snort with laughter and I hope they appear in future books. Great storyline with fantastic characters.
This new chapter of the Savage Kings is finding their way, and I enjoyed seeing the interaction with the Mother chapter (when Colt screws up!)
While this has steamy chemistry between Josie and Colt, what I really loved was the relationship between Jordan and Colt. An absolutely horrible connection, but one that helps both men, as they deal.
This author team is so talented and creative. I love their ability to drag me along through the hard and gritty parts of this story and deliver me to the end completely thrilled with the reading experience. I enjoy how easy it is to become lost in these characters and their drama.
I highly recommend reading the numerous other MC series and works from this duo, as the pages turn themselves, and each read offers something different. I grabbed my free ARC from Booksprout, and I voluntarily leave my review. I cannot wait for the next one in this series!!.
This is the second book in this incredible series, and this is Colt, Josie, and Jordan’s story. Colt is in hot water with his club brothers when he manages to lose his cut after spending a hot night with a woman. Tracking back Colt finds out they Jordan, Josie’s troubled son is wearing his cut. Josie is a single mom and knows that her son is struggling with the trauma caused by her abusive ex-husband. Colt finds that he can relate to Jordan’s story and offers a solution which Josie is not happy about. Colt is relentless in his pursuit of Josie, but will she take a chance on them being together? This is a well written story which is emotionally charged, with challenges, twists, intrigue, conflict, secrets, drama, romance, unconditional love, and is a steamy and riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from these talented authors’ whose work I highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Colt and his brothers never had to prospect for the Savage Kings MC. When he loses his cut at rally he knows he really screwed up. The SC chapter is furious when shows up on a teenager in their area. Colt does not think the boy should be punished, he sees a lot of him in Jordan. He takes the boy under his wing, the two similar traumatic pasts. He offers the opportunity to prospect for him back in Virginia, even though the boy's mother does not want him to.
Colt is not used to being turned down by women, he should just cut his losses but there is something about Josie that makes that impossible. She keeps telling he is too young for her, eight years it no all that much.
Will Josie help Colt, who is always in trouble, become more responsible? This may be triggering for some, as there is conversation of past abuse of children. Cannot wait for Bear's story.
I received an Advance Readers Copy of this book with no obligation to write a review.
Colt has a disturbing past that results in the behavior that makes certain he always gets whatever woman he set his eyes on, well until he meets Jordan's Mom, Josie. Jordan is an 18-year-old that stole Colt's MC Cut while he was, surprise, bedding a woman. No matter how hard Colt flirts with Josie using his tried-and-true moves that resulted in woman falling straight into his bed, Josie seems set on refusing his advances and Colt doesn't believe it is because of their 7 or so years age difference. As they spend time together, they each begin to see the real person behind the persona that person behind the "mask" they each portray to the outside world. Can they break down those masks in time to find that they might just be perfect for each other? Time will tell but this is another wonderful Savage Kings MC - Virginia and was a treat to read.

I love this series and I am loving getting to know these characters more. Colt is the younger brother of Remy and is sent to Myrtle Beach to retrieve his cut that he took off on the beach to have some fun with a random woman! When he gets there to the club, Colt feels a pull with the boy (Jordan) who stole his cut. And he is also taken in by his hot mom Josie!
Colt vouches for the boy and from there, it is a roller coaster ride of adventures! Josie hasn’t had very good taste in men at all and has promised Jordan she would stay single for a while. As Colt and Jordan get to know each other more, they find out they have more in common than anyone knows. While all 3 have stories of their own, you go from romance, to heartbreak, to romance again. This is good feels type of book where everyone is able to find some closure with their past! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Here we're back with The Fulton Brothers in Rockton Virgina when Colt Fulton HAS to go to Myrtle Beach Brach of The Savage Kings South Carolina to retrieve His Cut which was taken during the last get together Beach Party, where a young lad Jordan took it to try & seduce some Girls, but Colt gets the full mouthful from His Mother Josie Billingham tells Colt what she thinks about Bikers. But what neither of Them were expecting was THAT ATTRACTION & CONNECTION is one that neither have had even though Josie has BEEN married 4 times prior to ALL OLDER Men even to Jordan's Father when she was 17, but SHE'S NEVER BEEN WITH A YOUNGER MAN BEFORE. But Colt's & Hers changes for The time She NEARLY was Lost... What a beautiful Love Story & a Heart Breaking one When Colt Opens up about His Young Life & what he was able to get Their Uncle The sherif to Give a leinett sentence......
Couldn’t Put Down Book 2! What a great second book in this Savage Kings MC series. Colt is the brother of the Virginia chapter of the Savage Kings MC Series, Remy who’s their president. Colt has to go to the Myrtle Beach chapter to retrieve his cut when he not only encounters the young thief, Jordan, but also the young thief’s very hot older mom, Josie. Colt is now on a two-fold mission, to make Jordan his prospect and to get Josie. Jordan and Colt share a dark story that may be triggering. The authors handle this topic delicately, with purpose and with resolution. I’m definitely recommending this book and book one for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. I’m also looking forward to book three, Bear, brother number three and also an MC member. PEACE.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the 2nd book in the Savage Kings MC: Virginia series. Each book can be read as a standalone but you can never read too many MC books. Colt and his brother’s just started up the Virginia chapter and Colt is the first to have a major screw up. He has lost his Savage Kings cut. Thank goodness it finally turned up two states away in the South Carolina. Some punk kid was running around wearing it to school. Probably to impress a girl. Josie is a single mom. She works everyday to provide for her and her teenage son. She hasn’t had the best luck with men and after the last horrible ex, she promised her son Jordan there will be no more men coming into his life. Jordan is a senior doing summer school to graduate. He knows it won’t happen and he will just be disappointing his mom again. When Colt gives him the inspiration he needs. If he graduates Colt will let him be his new prospect. A new town, a new life, a new start. It’s just what he needs after everything with his dad and his mom’s most recent ex-husband. This book does discuss some sensitive issues. Does not go into to much detail but still you know what trauma happened. Of course I loved this book. I have loved all of the MC books by this author. Always surprises me how they keep coming up with new ideas. Can’t wait for next book!!
There are some heavy topics covered. Colt has the player, happy-go-lucky attitude to deal with his past trauma. When he meets Jordan, he sees a lot of himself in the young man. I like that the story is as much about Colt’s relationship with Jordan as it is with Jordan’s mom Josie. Josie is the epitome of bad decisions when it comes to men. After the last and worst to this point choice, she is off husbands—and that is what she has been looking for is husbands who will be a good father for Jordan. Colt has never had to work for attention from a woman, but she makes him work by putting him off. Colt matures a lot over the course of the story. Josie is a lot less mature than she thinks she is and has very narrow views. Overall very good story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A good read. Warning, issues surrounding victims of child abuse mentioned.
Colt is a member of the Savage Kings MC, of which the president is his brother Remy. A professional gambler and careless with it, he loses his cut (club leather) and it turns up in South Carolina on the back of a teenager. With everyone pi...d off at him, he has to travel down to retrieve it. Josie is the mother of said teenager Jordan and dislikes the idea of him wanting to skip going to college and join an MC, so she has a certain amount of hostility and fear when they are called to the South Carolina chapter of the Savage Kings MC to make reparation for the stolen items and face the member who has come to collect it.
Certainly as good a read as the first book in the series, but be warned there is mention of child abuse in this story which may put some reader off.
MC romances are very hit or miss with me. I’m not a huge fan of ones where the women are basically treated one step above property.
But that wasn’t this. Colt was footloose and fancy free when it came to the women of his past but he was never callous or mean.
And watching a woman less than half his size take him down was actually kind of amazing.
And I really liked that we got to see that Colt was actually sweet and caring and protective. He was such a genuinely good person under it all, even though so of the things he did in life may not have been completely above board.
But even though I liked Colt and Josie… the book had some issues. The dialogue could get awkward and there was no real plot to the story. (Also that mishap with the condom seemed a far stretch. 🙄)
But it was entertaining and a good romance and my preferred MC in reading so I don’t regret reading it.
Loved Josie and Colt. The banter between them was fire. When Colt realizes that a kid took his cut and has been wearing it to get chicks he drives down to get it only to realize Jordan isn’t much different from him. His mother Josie on the other hand is a challenge he can’t pass up. Loved the banter between them, her sass mouth and his flirting and getting her all riled up. Colt is a good man and all Josie needs to see is that he’s not like the other men in her life, he’s different, he actually sees her for who she is and that’s something she’s not used to and doesn’t know any better but to push him away. The burning question is will Colt do as she asks and leave her alone or is there more to this thing between them? Great read, I found this book on BookSprout.
I absolutely love how Josie makes Colt work for it. It makes colt grow up and realise a few things. However, we also find out why he has acted the way he has in his life and let me tell you. You are not prepared for this plot twist! Josie has had a hard go in life but one thing she is, is a protective Mumma bear. So when her son steals a beard skull cut, it changes both of their lives and for the better, although Josie doesn't think so at first. I love that Colt and Jordan have something in common that helps them connect but sadly it is a trauma they are both ashamed of. Talking to each other though helps them both heal and become better men for it. Bring on Bear!.
