This is the rarest of Black authors to find. His books are long out of print and people are trying to sell his books at outrageous prices. This book should be regarded as a Black Treasure as it portrays life at it's most visceral.

A moldering find from a now-closed used book store in Los Angeles. I don't know much about this author. Less popular and prolific than his contemporaries Donald Goines and Chester Himes, all black crime fiction novelists, but equally as talented. This book reads like a true voice of the ghetto, not some approximation. At times as entertaining as Jim Thompson. And then of course there's the lovely cover.
